Sibling's rivalry and its influence in success at elementary school

In its theoretical part, the thesis "Sibling rivalry as reflected in primary school success" provils a description of the primary school pupil and definitions of sibling rivalry and scholastic success. Further attention in giwen to parenting practices which foster sibling rivalry. The aim of the practical part of the thesis is to decode the tokens of sibling rivalry and to covvelate it with scholastic success in the kontext of parent - pupiů - teacher relationships. Both qualitative and quantitative approaches were employed and thein results compared. The results of this thesis can serve as the basis for further research and be used by parents to better understand thein children's interactions.

1 ABSTRACT The goal of this thesis is to study the process of starting independent life of individuals with an intellectual disability. Specifically, it focuses on the role of siblings and the whole family in this process. Disabled individuals tend to benefit from their relationships with siblings which help them to be more easily integrated into society.At the same time, it draws attention to possible problems that may arise according to the warnings and placing excessive samples. Qualitative research focuses on starting an independent life with respect to the relationships with siblings, the main method for collecting information is interviewing disabled individuals and their families. The aim is to draw attention to the relationship between the brothers, situations in which help each other. Other oppinions are the relationships of an individual with a disability with his parents, how they become independent and other possible unpleasant situations in which people are interviewed. Answers to one's own person are also important. How they perceive themselves, how they feel and what they want to achieve. These questions are mainly about people with mental disabilities, but from the point of view of a person with a mental disability and also from the point of view of his family. Behavior of preschool children in the context of the birth of a sibling

Bachelor work is describing behavior of children with the birth of their sibling. The work is divided to two parties. Theoretical part defines words as jealous, rivalry and looking on sibling s constellation. There is described very difficult situations in child life and their managing and give us closer to family itself and family relation. The Birth of child is for parent very major and happy situation. In the case that is going about second child coming of baby enjoys parents, grandparent and the first child as well. The real live reveals us attitude of parents in the connection of preparation the first child to the birth of sibling and which reasons and circumstances led to change of the first birth child s behavior.

My bachelor thesis deals with families with three children and introduces the viewpoints of each member of the family on various issues. It is the aim of this work to provide insight on the inner workings of the three-child families and their typical issues. It will, furthermore, focus on the field of sibling constellations and how they are perceived by the parents and the siblings themselves. The work entails both theoretical and practical part. The theory deals with the themes of family, parenthood and siblinghood. In the practical part, the casuistry of the families chosen is provided.
