Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine Sensorless Control Algorithms
Veselý, Libor ; Prokop, Roman (referee) ; Melichar,, Jiří (referee) ; Václavek, Pavel (advisor)
Algorithms of sensorless control of surface permanent magnet synchronous motors are discussed in the dissertation thesis. A method for position and speed estimation in high-speed region based on model reference adaptive system is described. Furthermore, classical approach using Kalman filtering was verified. Kalman filter expected the rotor speed to be constant as a modification of model using variable speed approach. These algorithms are not able to work at low speed region, thus a new method was proposed. This method is designed on extended Kalman filtering and uses the model which describes the stator inductance changes in - coordinates. At motor start, knowledge of initial rotor setup is required. The algorithm for initial rotor angle using high frequencies injected into the motor was proposed.
Sensorless velocity control and positions of d.c. low-power brush motor
Svoboda, Jan ; Hanák, Pavel (referee) ; Prajzner, Václav (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on sensorless control of low load brushed DC motor that is used in the actuators made by the Honeywell company. The first part provides an introduction into motor control and common used methods of speed and position sensing of brushed DC motor. Sensorless method of sensing described in this work is the detection of commutation pulses from the signal of motor current. These pulses are caused by brushes leaping over the commutator bars. Correct evaluation of commutation pulses can provide the information about velocity and position of the motor. This relatively new method of detection of commutation pulses is investigated and arising problems are demonstrated on measured samples of signal. Suitable methods of signal processing are then proposed. Infallibility of these signal processing methods is then proved on the set of signals measured under circumstances of supply voltage and abrasion. Then it is decided which signal processing method that sensorless control system can use is the best.

Kabelka, Ondřej ; Ctibor, Jiří (referee) ; Knobloch, Jan (advisor)
The thesis deals in the control of the BLDC motor. At first, there is a brief introduction of BLDC motor, in the next chapters are explained possible methods of control. The next part of the thesis deals with the platform STM32, on which the control algorithm is implemented. For the thesis a program for sensor and sensorless control of BLDC motor has been created. In the conclusion, the process of voltage and current has been measured, using the created algorithm.

Dušek, Martin ; Dolák, Petr (referee) ; Klusáček, Stanislav (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis describes development proccess of aircraft (BLDC) motor control unit. Possible methods of sensorless control are proposed, introduced and compared. The most suitable one is used to control the motor. The development process itself explains selection of components used in the circuit of the unit, theirs important parameters and the purpose of using it in the circuit. Created control unit is tested for its ability to control the motor and for a power capability.
Algorithms of Electrical Drives State Estimation
Herman, Ivo ; Vavřín, Petr (referee) ; Václavek, Pavel (advisor)
This thesis deals with state estimation methods for AC drives sensorless control and with possibilities of the estimation. Conditions for observability for a synchronous drive were derived, as well as conditions for the moment of inertia and the load torque observability for both drive types - synchronous and asynchronous. The possibilities of the estimation were confirmed by experimental results. The covariance matrices for all filters were found using an EM algorithm. Both drives were also identified. The algoritms used for state estimation are Extended Kalman Filter, Unscented Kalman Filter, Particle Filters and Moving Horizon Estimator.
Novel Methods of Sensorless Control of Drives with PMSM Motor
Lepka, Jaroslav ; Klíma, Bohumil (referee) ; Lettl,, Jiří (referee) ; Václavek, Pavel (advisor)
Purpose of this dissertation is to explore control techniques of PMSM motors and the design of a complex solution of sensorless control across a wide range of speed and torque. The proposed solution supports industrial implementation of different types of end equipment which use a PMSM motor. The work covers a thorough analysis of position and speed estimation. The Control structure is based on field oriented control technique, processes estimated quantities, and optimizes motor conditions to achieve maximum efficiency, start-up torque, and speed. The work discusses how the solution complies with the latest IEC standards. Compliance with these standards requires adapting the sensorless control technique and field oriented control structure. The elimination of a rotor position sensor and a temperature sensor measuring winding temperature requires development of techniques in software for blocked rotor detection and overload detection. The proposed solutions, which have been granted US patents, are explained in this work and utilize the unique features of an NXP microcontroller optimized for motor control applications. The achieved results are demonstrated on real industrial applications.
PMSM Drive Sensorless Control
Graf, Miroslav ; Blaha, Petr (referee) ; Václavek, Pavel (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis "PMSM Drive Sensorless Control" concerns about stage reconstructors by PMSM drive control. It describes Model Reference Adaptive System and Kalman filter. Both stage reconstructor are practically implemented at microprocessor and using the method "target in the loop" the functionality of both reconstructors is verified.
Sensorless control of BLDC motor
Hrbáč, Zbyněk ; Grepl, Robert (referee) ; Sova, Václav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the sensorless control of BLDC motor using the Extended Kalman filter. In the first section, process of EKF implementation for estimating rotor speed and electrical angle is described. For this estimation, EKF uses non-linear BLDC motor model and some measurement containing random noise. Second part deals with designing methodology to measure and estimate the quality of BLDC motor sensorless control. Best results were achieved with total current entering power electronics ripple analyzation. In the last section, several BLDC sensorless control algorithms were evaluated.

Križan, Jakub ; Toman, Jiří (referee) ; Grepl, Robert (advisor)
This thesis is focused on problematics of control of brushless DC motor in the sensor and also in the sensorless mode. Also it interprets possibilities of BLDC motor control with one faulty sensor and derivation and simulation of mathematical model. First part mentions options of rotor position sensing as well as existing methods of sensorless BLDC motor control. Second part describes control algorithms of sensor and sensorless motor control realised on device dSPACE and also realisation of faulty sensor control algorithm. Third part deals with derivation of mathematical model, its realisation using Matlab Simulink software and identification of its parameters. Last part concludes results and compares control methods used on the real system.
