Quality of Life of People with Idiopathic Scoliosis after Surgical Treatment in the Czech Republic

Title: Quality of Life of People with Idiopathic Scoliosis after Surgical Treatment in the Czech Republic Objectives: The aim of the research part of the thesis was to evaluate the quality of life of individuals after surgery for idiopathic scoliosis in the Czech Republic on the basis of a questionnaire survey. Within the framework of the research, individuals with IS who had undergone surgical treatment of IS were contacted, but at the same time individuals with IS who had not undergone scoliosis surgery were contacted. Methods: The study population included individuals diagnosed with idiopathic scoliosis in the age range of 18-60 years. Another criterion for inclusion in the study was a minimum of two years after IS surgery. Two questionnaires were used to assess quality of life in these two groups of scoliotic patients with treatment different undergone: the Short Form 36 and the Scoliosis Research Society 22, which were distributed to individuals with IS for approximately eight months. Analysis of the obtained data and statistical evaluation of the results was performed using MS Excel software. The use of vacuum compression therapy on patients after knee surgery

In this bachelor thesis the main topic is the effect of vacuum compression therapy in patients after knee surgery. First, the basic anatomy of the knee joint was described, summarizing the structures that, when damaged, are indications for knee surgery. Next, the possibilities of knee joint damage as well as knee joint surgery options were described. As this bachelor thesis came from a spa setting and one of the main objectives was to investigate the use of vacuum compression therapy in a comprehensive spa treatment system, spa treatment options for patients after knee surgery were also described. In its practical part, the research population of five probands who were prescribed vacuum-compression therapy in their set of treatments was examined. With these probands, their knee joint development during the spa treatment was subsequently investigated using entry and exit aspect and palpation, goniometric measurements and somatometry. Also, one of the outcome factors of this undergraduate thesis was the subjective view of this issue and this was obtained through a semi-structured interview. A total of 5 probands participated in this research for this Bachelor's thesis. All of them had experienced vacuum compression therapy for the first time and therefore the semi-structured interview output made sense and therefore the probands' responses were not influenced by their previous experience of this form of physical therapy. Exit examinations concluded that their condition had improved, both in range of motion of the knee joint and in the length of the knee joint circumference, which indicated improved swelling rates, as confirmed by the facet and palpation examinations. At the same time, through interviews, a positive perception of vacuum compression therapy was found by patients who underwent this therapy. The majority of them reported a positive attitude towards the therapies they had undergone and also felt that their health status had improved after all applications of vacuum-compression therapy.

The Study of Systém and Process optimization of Service operation

This thesis is oriented on the automotive industry with the focus on the domestic producer of the vehicles – the Škoda Auto Company. It describes the subject of business in the mentioned company and subsequently it refers to the current trends of the automotive market in the Czech Republic. On the basis of the analyses` results of the after-sales services allied with usage of the Škoda-products it will propose their possible future progression. Thereinafter will the thesis concentrate on the description of the existing after-sales processes focused on the „through-pass“ of the vehicle through the authorised Škoda Auto service. It deals with the analysis of the service systems in detail using the tight cohesion of them. Modern technologies used in the current vehicles put significantly higher demands on their maintenance, which call for the continual optimization of the service processes with the maximal utilisation effort of the feedback. The appropriate personnel have become the necessity. For these purposes it will be recommended the introduction of the electronic multipurpose memory devices intended for the data collection. In the next step will the after-sale-service process be described with the focus on the usage of these electronic memory vehicle-keys with the reference to the procedural simplification of the maintenance operations. The final part of the thesis will evaluate the general contribution of the proposed resolution for the service processes as well as their users.

Solution technology multiple groove guide pulley to circular saw.

The project developed within the bachelor's degree by the pulley multiple groove design of the technology for desktop performance circular saws. The design work is finished the production of components for the piece and batch production, the choice of the intermediate processing and description of manufacturing operations, including tools used for the single and series production, production design work for production and evaluation of the proposed variants of the production. This thesis has been developed on the basis of the theoretical knowledge gained while studying at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Brno and personal experiences.

Economical appreciation deal with assesment of the number of machines and deal with their usage at the production, calculation of sizes process area and quantity of the workers. Final costs of tools are also solved.

Design and implementation of control applications capable to connect laboratory MES system

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to understand the ISA-95 standard and the manufacturing executing system (MES) based on this standard. Control application of discrete manufacturing controlling for PLC is then created and applied on a school device model. The thesis explains the ISA-95 standard and its influence on MES. The division and functions of MES according to ISA-95 are further described and explained. The theoretical part, the application of discrete manufacturing controlling for PLC is implemented on a drill model, simulating a segment of drilling. Structure of the software has been implemented in a way to correspond to the requirements given by MES and to be easily built upon.

The result should be applicable to business Iveta Šťastníková - production and distribution of toiletries, which is produced in dry goods. Primarily, should simplify operations such as stocking, invoicing, receipt and distribution of goods. First, we introduce the theoretical bases of work, and then move to the current state and the analysis itself. The result is a design solution that would meet the needs of the owner.

HW Acceleration of Network Unix Tools

In the world, there always appear faster technologies for network communication. Some network tools are not capable of working in high-speed, they are overloading system, therefore they are not able to fulfill their functions. They can not fully monitor the whole traffic and ensure secured services. Thesis analyses network tools, their operations and researches critical spaces for future hardware acceleration. In this context, it introduces effective hardware programming platforms. Using measurements, it evaluates the limits of the tools and mentions the possibilities of acceleration, which are suggested for another thesis.

Educational material for children before cardiac surgery

Quality education of children before hospitalization is an important factor in reducing their stress from hospitalization and hospital environment. This bachelor thesis on "Educational material for children before cardiac surgery" discusses in more detail about congenital heart defects and the effect of hospitalization on the child in the theoretical part. In the empirical part, the results of quantitative research, their evaluation and graphical processing in Microsoft Excel including statistical hypotheses are written. The research method was a questionnaire survey at the inpatient ward of the Children's Cardiac Centre of the 2nd Faculty of Medicine and Motol University Hospital. The aim of the study was to determine the quality of education of children before hospitalization by parents and on the basis of our own research and the preferences found to create a proposal of educational material for the given age group, which could be used for practice. As a result, the proposal came out in the form of a book with a story. This preferred educational material was chosen by more than half of the parents.
