Impacts on men's mental health when limiting their personal freedom- from the perspective of people working with this target group
KROPÍKOVÁ, Markéta
The diploma thesis deals with the impact on men's mental health when personal freedom is restricted from the point of view of people working with this target group. It is based on the results of the research "Psychological aspects of the consequences of criminal activity in convicted men serving a prison sentence" from 2019, conducted by Mgr. Marie Ouředníková. This work thus shows a view of life in custody or prison from the other side of the bars. It thus reveals the rules that prevail here among men who face the strict regime of the prison every day, but also the internal hierarchy itself. Such an environment subsequently negatively affects the mental health of the men who have to deal with it, in different ways. The diploma thesis reflects these impacts and thus gives a comprehensive view of the mentioned issue. It also has up-to-date research and statistics pointing to current events in such an environment, such as institutions restricting personal freedom. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the practical part, there is a description of the research methodology itself, followed by Ouředníková's reflected results with the opinions of people with professional experience in this practice.

Forecast of the size and structure of the prison population in the CR Abstract: Forecasting of prison population in the Czech Republic is almost an unexplored topic. To the whole prison system as a topic is also devoted little space in the literature. The most advanced methods of forecasting of prison populations cannot be used to the Czech data, which are used in countries with a long tradition of it. The data are not connected between Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Interior, and also differ in their definitions. It is therefore necessary to use a simplified method, which correspond to the data sources. The process is also interfered with unexpected external factors such as the amnesty of the President of the Republic on the 1 January 2013. Models for convicted expected forecast decline in their number by the end of 2013 to 12 to 19 thousands. Models further assume that a decline in 2013 would take place, even if there were no amnesty. Models for the accused assume their fluctuation around the same values. Follow-up calculations show that the state would save significantly by the projection models variants and also the burden on prison officers in correctional facilities would be reduced to 2.1 to 3.2 prisoners per guard from the current 3.5 prisoners per guard. Spiritual Ministry in Czech Prisons
HRUŠKOVÁ, Hana
This paper deals with Christian spiritual ministry offered to accused and convicted prisoners in the prisons in the Czech Republic. First the paper treats the up to date penology trends and penitentiary systems in the Euro American realm and the system in the Czech Republic in detail. The second part is focused on the non-governmental organisation Vězeňská duchovenská péče (Penitentiary spiritual solicitude), the prison chaplains, ecumenicity and relations between the prison staff and the clergymen. The following chapter is based on interviews with experienced prison chaplains, their opinions concerning the contemporary conditions in prisons and services offered to the prisoners. It is obvious, that the clergyman cannot be substituted in his task by any other professional among the prison staff. A clergyman is often the last one who can see any hope in cases where the other specialists have already given up. He can work with the accepting of guilt and searching for values very well. The future of the ministerial services in the prisons in the Czech Republic depends on the active and supportive cooperation with the Penitentiary Service of the Czech Republic and ecumenical openness.
