Tato diplomová práce "Význam vzdělávání osob ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody s přihlédnutím k pachatelům závažných trestných činů v České republice" se zabývá vzděláváním pachatelů závažných trestných činů. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda se dlouhodobě odsouzeným ve výkonu trestu odnětí svobody může skrze vzdělávání, do něhož patří nejen odborné a základní vzdělání, ale i "Program zacházení" a působení pedagogických pracovníků, změnit pohled na smysl výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Pedagogickými pracovníky myslím ty, kteří jsou zaměstnáni jako speciální pedagogové, pedagogové volného času a vychovatelé. Teoretická část pojednává o funkcích výkonu trestu odnětí svobody, dále o "programu Zacházení s odsouzenými", vzdělávání odsouzených, propojení sociální práce ve věznici se vzděláváním odsouzených a řeč je i o logoterapeutickém přístupu Viktora Emila Frankla. Poslední část práce se zabývá rozborem jedenácti rozhovorů, které vyplňovali pachatelé závažných trestných činů, a kteří jsou v současné době již na svobodě. Tato část odpovídá na zvolený cíl práce. This master's thesis "The significance of education of people during their custodial sentence with regard to the convicts of serious criminal acts in the Czech Republic" deals with education of perpetrators of serious criminal acts. The aim of this thesis is to ascertain, whether people who are imprisoned in long term can through education, which includes not only vocational education and primary education, but also the "Program of treatment" and activity of pedagogical workers, change the point of view at the sense of custodial sentence. I consider the pedagogical workers to be the people who work as special pedagogues, leisure pedagogues and educators. The theoretical part deals with functions of custodial sentence, then with the "program Treatment with convicts, education of convicts, social works at prison, and connection of social work at prison with education of convicts and there is also something about the logo therapeutic attitude of Viktor Emil Frankl. The last part of this thesis deals with analysis of eleven interviews, which were completed by convicts of serious criminal acts who are nowadays already at liberty. This part responds the aim of the thesis.
