Usage of alternative and augmentative systems of communication within logopedic intervention of individuals with combined disabilities

The dissertation provides a detailed analysis of logopedic intervention. It focuses on systems of alternative and augmentative communication of individuals with special learning and educational needs (combined disability) in different age (19,12, 8 years). Theoretical part presents firstly general characteristics of communicational skills as a part of communication process and their possible violation with regards to respondent's combined disabilities and secondly researcher's own logopedic intervention. The work shows a shift within theoretical approaches from sound aspects of speech to its content. Combined disability is described from the perspective of frequent combination of celebral palsy and mental disorder. Symptomatology and diagnosis are also included. Last chapter profiles individual systems of alternative and augmentative communication as well as criteria used in the process of their choice. Own research focuses on detailed overview of logopedic intervention within each developmental stage of the respondents. Logopedic intervention by children from multilingual environment

1 ABSTRACT The present work deals with the development of speech child educated in a multilingual environment, resp. with children bilingualism and any difficulties that may accompany this development. The aim of this work is to investigate the effect of the action of multiple languages in the acquisition of speech and the possibility of child therapy of multi-lingual children. The theoretical basis is based on the analysis of scientific literature on the topic. Includes basic terms, follows the development of the child's speech in connection with multilingual environment, the type and manner learning another language. It deals with the problems of these children in speech, specifics and possible redress procedures in the context of logopedic intervention. The practical part consists of qualitative research in the form of case studies, using the method of interview, observation and analysis of results of operations. Analysis of interdisciplinary approach to children with orofacial clefts

The topic of this diploma thesis is an analysis of interdisciplinary approach to children with orofacial clefts. The first chapter deals with theoretical base and defines terminology - communication, communication disabilites. It also defines anatomy and physiology of nasal cavity and oral cavity. The second chapter relates to issues of orofacial clefts. It describes classification, etiology, symptomatology, prevention, aestetic and psychosocial impacts and orofacial cleft children care. The third chapter deals with occurence of communication disabilites of children with orofacial clefts. It focuses on the definition of palatholaly, velopharyngeal inadequacy and it describes various linguistic levels and speech therapy and intervention. The fourth chapter is empiric and it deals with analysis of interdisciplinary approach to children with orofacial clefts. In research processes there were used scientific literature analysis, anamnestic data analysis and available specialized materials analysis. The Role of speech therapist in education system

The theoretical part of the diploma thesis is characterized by the history of logopaedics in the Czech Republic, the distribution of logopedic intervention and the organization of logopedic workers. The main subject of the thesis is to describe the requirements for the education and professional development of a teacher providing logopedic care both in the education sector and in the private sphere. It is also mentioned the division of logopedic workplaces according to individual spheres of education. The aim of the practical part is to map logopedic care in the South Bohemian Region. There is also a comparison of the current school situation. Further, the practical part is focused on workplaces where logopedic care is performed on children with cochlear implant. The diploma thesis is focused on the area of special education of people with hearing impairment, that is the second sub-focus of the speech therapist.
