Thermoelectric generators and their use with renewable energy sources
Bajgl, Tomáš ; Radil, Lukáš (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
This work revolves around the principle of thermoenergy transforming into electrical energy by using a thermoelectrical generator. It is divided into these sections – theoretical, practical and experimental measurement. In the theoretical section, each thermoelectrical phenomenon is described, the properties of various materials used for production are listed, including their electrical properties and constructions. Then the attention switches to the currently available systems. The practical section includes a design for a device, which purpose is to recharge a mobile phone by using thermoelectric generators, and that section is followed by the elaboration of the measured values.

Šroba, Roman ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis deals with modern BMW spark-ignition engines. It provides an overview of current automotive design solutions in gasoline engines. The work is focused on three main areas. The first part describes the latest and unconventional technologies used in current BMW spark-ignition engines. The second part is focused on design solutions in specific aggregates, their evaluation or comparison with contemporary competition. The last part describes the hybrid vehicles and the car manufacturer's response to emission standards with focus on the waste heat of a car.

Thermoelectric Generator
Kozák, Jan ; Ančík, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
This thesis describes the design and construction of a device that would allow measure the basic characteristics of thermocouples. These thermocouples are often known in the literature as TEG ( ThermoElectric Generators)
Using thermoelectric generator to increase the efficiency of the radiator
Kříž, Pavel ; Janák, Luděk (referee) ; Vlach, Radek (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with a design layout of the fan power supply that ensures the increase of the efficiency of the heating unit. For usage in the areas without electric power, the power supply is secured by thermoelectric generator. The system has to function on the basis of autonomous system which turns itself on only when necessary. In the introductory part of the paper there is a recherché of thermoelectric generators for general usage. Next it mentions the basic findings in from the field of DC/DC converters for low power applications. In this part attention is given to MPPT algorithm. Furthermore basic knowledge from the field of heat transmission together with its most used elements is described. Subsequently existing applications that increase the effectiveness of heating are mentioned. Their disadvantage however is that they depend on the external source of power supply. The practical part to a large extent covers the analysis of the suitability of the chosen thermoelectric module. For securing of the heat gradient of the generator there was a model created meeting the figures in the manual and there are several simulations in the MATLAB program. Furthermore several measurements of the thermoelectric module took place in order to secure realistic figures. Subsequently a DC/DC converter was chosen. Finally the testing was made on the real composition. In conclusion there is an overall evaluation including the real usage and the economical aspect of the project. The outcomes of the work enable to avoid common mistakes that are part of many specialized articles. The created system is to be used after the adjustment of the cooling to the required aim. At the same time it becomes very effective.

Maximum power transfer from thermocouple to load
Zgrebňák, Vojtech ; Novák, Lukáš (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the maximum power transfer from a thermoelectric generator to a load. Thermoelectric phenomena and thermocouple are described. The thesis also describes in detail the individual MPPT algorithms and the topic of voltage regulation, especially switched mode power supplies. In the practical part, a switching regulator in SEPIC topology, built on platform Arduino Nano, is proposed. The maximum power to the load is controlled by the switching transistor using the P&O algorithm. The functionality of the regulator is verified by measuring the convergence to the MPP and the efficiency of the power transfer.
Usage of Busbar as a Source of Heat
Svoboda, Ondřej ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Radil, Lukáš (advisor)
This study is dedicated to the use of heat energy from the busbar and its cooling system. The study deals with thermal analysis of the busbar, both using numerical simulations in SolidWorks and practical examination – warming of the busbar. We can verify the correctness of the simulation from the measured values. To determine the temperature profile of the busbar, it is necessary to measure the temperature at various points of the busbar by contact method using thermocouple or contactless method using a thermal imager. Measurements are performed at the busbar LIA1600 made by Siemens Busbar Trunking System Mohelnice. The aim of the study is to analyze temperature busbar, to suggest the most efficient method of heat recovery, and to make economic calculation
