MIDI to DMX signal converter for synchronizing stage lighting with live music
Hajdúch, Patrik ; Záviška, Pavel (referee) ; Sikora, Marek (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on designing a device for converting MIDI signals to DMX signals. The converter runs on the ATmega328P microprocessor with the Arduino bootloader and is capable of converting Note On, Note Off, and Control Change messages into changes in the DMX output signal. For the conversion, a map consisting of three profiles is used, which is editable using a desktop app and saved on an external EEPROM. This allows the converter to be used universally with many different DMX systems. The device is housed in an enclosure with dimensions that allow it to be stored within a single rack unit. The converter allows for fully automatic control of stage lighting and other stage equipment in synchronization with music and creating complex scenes using the widely used MIDI protocol.
Wireless data logger for environmental monitoring - server-side
Bártek, Jiří ; Kolářová, Jana (referee) ; Sekora, Jiří (advisor)
This work describes the design and implementation of the server-side component, which is part of a comprehensive task for measuring temperature in medical storage spaces and sending the measured temperature at specified time intervals. The created device will receive the measured data and subsequently send it to an e-mail address. The introductory part deals with the legislation related to the storage of medicines and further provides the reader with theoretical information about the used devices and protocols. The next section of the work introduces the implementation of the device and software solution. The outcome of the work is a device capable of communicating with another microcontroller and sending the received data to a selected e-mail address for subsequent archiving.
Dashboard for Smart Home Status Focused on Low Consumption Installations
Fišer, Tomáš ; Hynek, Jiří (referee) ; John, Petr (advisor)
In the rapidly evolving concept of IoT, or a network consisting of physical devices with electronic and software capabilities to interconnect and collaborate to perform autonomous actions without human intervention, dashboards are an important element for users, providing data visualizations and controls over data. This work deals with the creation of a dashboard that has as main goals low energy consumption compared to traditional solutions, simple control interface and clear data visualization. It tries to meet the parameter of low power consumption by using energy efficient computing hardware, ESP32 microcontroller and by using E-ink display panel which again has low power consumption. The resulting dashboard should be able to run on batteries for long periods of time without the need to replace or recharge the batteries.
Sensor for bars of mallet percussion instruments
Pribol, Sebastián ; Balík, Miroslav (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis addresses the issue of capturing melodic percussion instruments using dynamic sensors that can be attached to a musical instrument. It includes theoretical knowledge, analysis, and selection of appropriate sensing methods, and the actual implementation, which consists of testing, integration with MIDI, manufacturing of the device itself, and final calibration and adjustments for proper functionality. The device uses an ESP32-S3 Dev Kit N8R8 microcontroller, which was programmed in the Arduino IDE for proper operation. The device consists of twelve piezoelectric sensors that capture the dynamics of playing the musical instrument and send MIDI information to a DAW via a Bluetooth module.
Creating an educational kit for MATLAB programming using the Arduino platform
Smělík, Jakub ; Grepl, Robert (referee) ; Appel, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with the creation of an educational kit based on the Arduino platform for subject Introduction to Programming and Algorithmization. The main reasons for a creation of a new educational kit and selection of suitable components for this kit are described in the introduction and the research sections. The main part of this thesis deals with creation of a toolbox for the MATLAB program, enabling easy programming of an Arduino through the MATLAB language and environment. Next, this newly created toolbox is compared with the already existing toolbox created by MathWorks, which serves same function. Finally, all achieved results are summarized and evaluated.
Development of System for Landmine Detection
Šmelka, Martin ; Kubíček, Michal (referee) ; Doležal, Tomáš (advisor)
The Bachelor's thesis will cover a proposal for the construction of a demonstration system designed to discover objects that represent hidden „mines“ in a field. In the first phase, a systém will be designed to simulate the behaviour of the final device using the MATLAB interface. The proposed code will generate a GUI that will simulate the system in the field. After discovering a mine, the assigned cell will be marked, and the location will be signalled to the operator. Afterwards, the design of the demonstrator will be conceptualised and a working prototype fabricated to verify the functionality of the proposal.
Robotic manipulator control
Černík, Filip ; Sedlařík, Marek (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
The work deals with familization of the project called BCN3D-Moveo. What is it and how it works. The project can be divided into three parts: structural, electronic and control part. The construction part includes familiarization with robotic arm structures and obtaining its 3D model for consequential 3D printing and assembly. The electronic part deals with the selection adn connection of the appropriate electronics, for the proper functioning of the robotic arms and. The last control part includes the issue of controlling the entire robotic arm and introduces the control of stepper motors.
Hardware Module for Interactive Control of Projects in PureData
Křivánek, Roman ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Schimmel, Jiří (advisor)
In the work, there are basic theoretical information about the Arduino Uno R3 board. Then there are theoretical information about the components used. Furthermore, there is a chapter in the work where individual components are tested with the Arduino Uno R3 board. During the testing of the components, circuit diagrams and sample codes are provided to test the functionality of the components and modules. At the end of the work, there is a chapter on the design of the printed circuit board, which is the output of this work
Compatibility of NXP Microcontrollers with Arduino IDE
Tomeček, Jan ; Strnadel, Josef (referee) ; Šimek, Václav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of support for microcontrollers from NXP Semiconductors in the Arduino IDE development environment. The thesis analyses the individual elements of the Arduino IDE, its extension packages and individual configuration files. It also describes the MCUXpresso IDE environment and based on the analysis the package for supporting NXP microcontrollers is designed.
Controlling LEGO Technic Active Elements from EV3
V rámci tejto práce boli v rôznych iteráciách vytvorené radiče, ktoré rozširujú možnosti kocky EV3 ovládať motory, s použitím vlastných návrhov dizajnov plošných spojov a 3D tlačených puzdier. Okrem nich boli vyvinuté softvérové kódovacie bloky, ktoré umožňujú kocke komunikovať s týmito radičmi a ďalšími UART zariadeniami.
