Soběslav Pinkas, czech painter (1827 - 1901)
Brožová, Kristýna ; Prahl, Roman (advisor) ; Machalíková, Pavla (referee)
English Abstract The goal of my master thesis is to present a comprehensive study of the life and work of Sobeslav Pinkas (1927 - 1901), one of the most important Czech realistic painters. Painter's personal and artistic development is introduced in the wider historical context to allow us to understand why he had decided to become a painter. In 1948 Pinkas, as a young student of law, joined the armed revolution and personally attended the riots. Later he became a caricaturist for the Sotek magazine. His craving for democracy in the political life was mirrored in his attempts to find a new way of artistic expression. Neither the Academy in Prague nor the one in Mnichov could stand up to his expectations, and he consequently chooses Johann Baptist Berdelle as his personal teacher. Later, following a short Prague intermezzo, he, as one of the first Czech artist, leaves for Paris, where he studies under the guidance of Thomas Couture. Later on he discovers the work of Jean-François Millet and is heavily influenced by it. His conversion to the modern style of French painting wasn't received in Prague with much enthusiasm, which may be one of the reasons why he gradually, after his return to his homeland, stops painting. He became a drawing teacher at girls' secondary school; apart from that, he was a member of...

My diploma work is an installation, made from multiple instances of a device iniciating string resonance via electromagnetic field. These devices along with strings are placed on the wall in geometrical shape. Installation creates loop on multiple levels. Except the fact that installation have a circular shape, position of each string starts at the end of another string. Second, more inconspicious loops takes place in the electromagnetic device resonating the strings, that do that with feedback loop. Strings consist every step of chromatic scale, that repeats itself, just an octave higher. Amplification of the final sound of strings is done purely acoustically, with help of the wall on wich the piece is installed. This piece is in its nature concerned with spirituality in music, not necessarily in sense of evoking a spiritual experience, but rather demonstrating metaphors and parallels, that exists between physical aspects of tonal music and different religious ideas. The symmetrical shape of installation refer to religious and occult visuality, built f.e. in cabal on Fibonacci numbers, that is present not only in nature ( for example, the veins of the leaves grow by these numbers), but also in tonal music system (ancient philosophers were working with this concept, see Plato's Music of the Spheres). Strings in this piece produce drone sound, that is naturally evoking spirituality (most visible in buddhist monk meditation). This sound in the piece demonstrates immutability and constancy, the fact that all the chromatic tones are playing demonstrates wholeness (this fact may produce interesting resonances emerging between chromatic steps), so to speak, the unchangeable laws of physics, or to put it in religious lingo, the god law. The symbol of loop also refers to religion, like the eternal return of the same, the periodicity of history. Strings can be viewed as astrophysical symbol. Everything stated is nothing but my recourse, that should not ultimately determine the perception of the piece by viewer. The goal of the work is to offer experience without need to be put into context

Czech Travels to Richard Wagner
Fránek, Michal ; Kopecký, J.
The study explores the phenomenon of Czech travels to famous German composer Richard Wagner and to the places associated with his cult (Munich, Bayreuth, Zurich, etc.). It focuses on the Wagnerian journeys – accomplished and not – of Czech composers (Bedřich Smetana, Antonín Dvořák, Zdeněk Fibich, Josef Bohuslav Foerster), performers (Ema Destinnová, Karel Burian, etc.), music critics (Otakar Hostinský, V. V. Zelený), painters (Jaroslav Čermák) and writers (Julius Zeyer, Jaroslav Maria, Teréza Nováková), tracing their different motivations.
The analysis of qualitative and quantitative characteristics of the pre-match warm-up at the elite football teams.
Novotný, Petr ; Malý, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kaplan, Aleš (referee)
Title: Analysis of Qualitative and Quantitative Characteristics of Pre-match Warm- up in Elite Football Teams. Objectives: The aim of this diploma thesis was to analyze pre-match warm-ups in elite football teams from both qualitative and quantitative perspectives. Methods: The research sample consisted of top European football teams, namely Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and Manchester City. Data was collected and retrospectively evaluated through video analysis. A total of four pre-match warm-ups were recorded during UEFA Champions League matches. The individual recordings were processed and categorized based on predetermined evaluation criteria. The selected categories were activation exercises, preparatory exercises, game-related exercises, small-sided games, and speed exercises. Evaluation criteria were established for each category, including total exercise time, number of exercises, and average number of repetitions per player. The criteria were compared among the different football teams. Results: The obtained results revealed both common qualitative and quantitative characteristics. Activation exercises emerged as the most numerous and complex category. Based on the recorded durations of the warm-ups, it was evident that the most time was devoted to this category compared to...
Analysis of an individual skill - passing through the opponent

Title: Analysis of an individual skill - passing through the opponent Objectives: The objective of this thesis is the analysis of the individual skill, namely passing through the opponent in a selected group of the Champions League. Methods: In my thesis to obtain data I used the method of indirect observation of selected matches that were available to me based on video recordings. I analyzed individual matches into record sheets. This analysis is focused on the individual skill, namely passing through the opponent. Results: The overall frequency of passsing through the opponent for the teams Bayern Munich, Inter Milan and FC Barcelona was significantly higher compared to the team Viktoria Plzeň. Viktoria Plzeň's overall success rate was significantly lower than the other teams in the group. The overall failure to lose the ball for Viktoria Plzeň was significantly higher than the other teams. The players of Viktoria Plzeň recorded a significantly lower frequency of offensive duels 1versus2+ in comparison with the other teams. The overall frequency of attempts to pass through the opponent in the penalty area was significantly higher for the other teams compared to Viktor Plzeň's team. The success after the loop with a change of direction was significantly lower for the Viktoria Plzeň team compared...
Schickeria. Bayern Munich's left-wing ultra group and the concept of critical loyalty
Adam, Jakub ; Brožová, Anežka (advisor) ; Emler, David (referee)
Ultras rank among the most loyal supporters of their clubs, but these movements are also often the subject of controversy, whether because of their radical right-wing views or violence in stadiums. The German supporter scene is specific, as many of the local ultras supporting football clubs fight against commercialisation, globalisation and are not characterised by right- wing views. This thesis discusses one of the most important fan groups in Germany, Schickeria München. Schickeria supports the football club FC Bayern Munich, which could be described as the richest and most successful German team. The club is run by its former players or businessmen and officials, who occasionally make decisions that conflict with Schickeria's views. Fans and management are thus in many situations at odds with each other, debating the future direction and values of the club. Using the example of the relationship between Schickeria and the club's management, the concept of critical loyalty is illustrated, which to a large extent describes the fans' attitude towards the actions of their club.
History of the German-speaking Inhabitants of the Czech lands in the Museum: Comparison of the Exhibitions Experience Homeland and Our Germans
Nagy, Kristýna ; Konrád, Ota (advisor) ; Swider, Malgorzata (referee)
The master thesis examines and compares two new museum exhibitions dedicated to the history of the German-speaking population of the Czech lands. These are the exhibition Experience Homeland in the Sudeten German Museum in Munich and Our Germans in the Ústí nad Labem City Museum. The subject of the analysis is the creation and current form of these exhibitions and the story of history they present to the visitor. Both exhibitions were documented and compared on the basis of a catalogue of questions based on a critical analysis of historical sources. The results of the analysis show that, although both museums were planned in the same time period and in an atmosphere that encouraged a shared critical perspective on the previously different interpretations of Czech-German history, the final forms of the two museums continue to present a significant part of history in different ways, and neither has fully fulfilled its original intent. The exhibitions present the 18th and 19th century periods very similarly and also critically reflect the development of nationalism among both Czech and German speakers. The political development of the 20th century, however, is depicted by the exhibitions each from its own perspective. The results of the research suggest that despite the current functioning...
The Comparison of Bavarian and Saxon Foreign Relations
Nováková, Ela ; Eberle, Jakub (advisor) ; Handl, Vladimír (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of paradiplomacy in the context of the comparison of two substate units - Bavaria and Saxony. The growth of paradiplomatic activities is a natural reaction of non-state actors to the increase of globalization, regionalization and in the selected territory also European integration. Both Bavaria and Saxony, as representatives of the substate level of government in German federalism, do not have the full range of their own, exclusive competences. Although they cannot act as fully sovereign international entities, they actively use means and tools available to them to engage in foreign relations. Paradiplomatic activities are illustrated in this thesis with emphasis on their current form and outside the level of channels regulated by the EU. The main differences between Bavaria and Saxony lie in their historical development, economic potential and identification with regional parties that influence both Munich and Dresden in their international appeal and self-confidence. Bavarian state players act as de facto equal partners in regional relations with Central European countries, and their attractiveness is evident on the global scale. This is also reflected in intra-German politics, where Munich articulates its provincial interests even if it deviates from...
