Object in Landscape

The master thesis Object in Landscape deals with the relationship of a human and the landscape. As humans can never detach themselves from their subjective perception of reality, they determine the criterion of the perception and relating oneself to the landscape. The objective of this work is to compare and contrast the viewpoint of landscape presented in the literature with the author's personal experience as well as the personal experience of artists working in or with the landscape. This confrontation results on the one hand in the presented art work, on the other hand in a series of educational tasks providing the validation of the theory.

Care for the oikos. Home/House ind the History of Ideas

This work focuses on the home/house as the most important locus of human dwelling, the place where through the ages humans were born and died. It is the innermost background of humans and their link to what is back of the ground. That home/house, so familiar a reality, faces a threat of becoming what is at the same time most remote. It is at the threshold of the home/house that humans and the world encounter one another. Countless images, symbols, experiences and conceptions of the home/house which we can trace through the ages mirror the immense effort and extent of human coming to be at home. One of the chief aims of this study is to use various aspects of this being-at-home to call attention to the magnitude of the loss which, according to Heidegger, homelessness as a global fate inflicted on humans. In this study we have set out from certain "foundations", presented in the chapters devoted to Greek, Jewish and Christian ideas and images of the home/house.

Widgets for a Mobile Application of Intelligent Home Control

This thesis deals with development of widgets designed for intelligent home control in the environment of Android operation system. The intelligent home control is a framework developed at FIT BUT. The thesis introduces the framework and explains principals of developing widgets. The practical part discusses design and implementation of the specific widgets. The implementation is evaluated and the results are discussed. The concluding section provides summary and suggests future improvements.

Application for Controll System in Caravan

This Master's thesis deals with the development of a mobile application for a control of the supervisory system in caravans and motorhomes. The thesis presents the currently available principles and research of the existing solutions. This custom solution includes an Android application and a desktop application of the central unit simulator of the supervisory system. The simulator is based on the Node.js and node-webkit technologies. The simulator communicates with the devices available via RF Transciever and it simulates other devices. The mobile application communicates with the simulator via Bluetooth Low Energy and GSM. Major part of the implementation description is devoted to the Bluetooth Low Energy technology and to issues, which are associated with it. The resulting solution puts emphasis on the usability of the user interface and the ability to supervise a wide range of connected devices. The system also implements custom logic alerts for tracked events. The thesis concludes with evaluation of the resulting system and outlining the future development options.

Palliative care is provided by patient's family at home

The thesis, titled Palliative Care Provided by Patient's Family in Home Environment, discusses the specific care needs of a terminally ill patient in his/her own home. Caring for an ill person in a home environment is beginning to be a growing trend in home care, but also it is an increasingly common wish of the patients themselves. The family is therefore required to have enough theory and practical knowledge in order to deliver a highly demanding personal care for their close family members. The aim of the thesis is to summarize the current situation of delivering palliative care in home environment in Czech Republic whilst concentrating on the specific needs of the patient and the needs of their family. The objectives of the research were to determine whether family members were introduces to the specifics of palliative care of terminally ill patients; to map their skills in delivering palliative care in home environment and to reveal the most common issues that family members come across in that home environment. The final objective was to map out services in regions of Central Bohemia and Liberec that are accessible to family members whilst caring for a terminally ill patient. The research part of the thesis was completed employing a method of qualitative investigation using semi-structured interviews with patient's family members and nurses providing hospice care in home environment. It emerged from the analytical interviews that the family's knowledge level regarding support for palliative care in home environment is very limited and in hospitals families are only given minimal or no support or information. As a final document for the thesis an informative educational brochure was created based on the results of aforementioned research, primarily targeting patient's family; its core objective is to improve information and collate the specifics of care that would allow the patient a dignified end to their life.

Graphical User Interface for Smarthome Control

This thesis deals with development graphical user interface on Android platform for intelligent control system developed at FIT BUT. The thesis introduces a system BeeeOn, further explanation of principles of creating graphical interfaces for Android. The practical part discusses design and implementation of screens which extends an existing application. The concluding section evaluates achieved results using Google Analytics.

Psychological aspects of care for the elderly

This thesis deals with psychological aspects of elderly care during the last phase of life. It focuses on caring professionals and caring laymen. The theoretical part of the thesis describes physiological ageing and particular psychological aspects, which can occur during elderly care in the last phase of life. The practical part of the thesis contains short statements of caring professionals and caring laymen, who have experience with elderly care. The thesis occupies with negative feelings and states, that may occur in caring professionals and caring laymen and can lead to burnout syndrome.

NEW ON THE „OLD“ – Brno, Bratislavská - Stará Corner

The main issue of the place is a future. The design close corner of Bratislavska street and Old street, where historically always been the building. Closing the street line and the completion of the streets. The object smoothly recede in the street in Bratislava backwards. It creates a small, but very important public area. Fee of the real street is very essential for the further development of the area. The design responds to the local environment. Most of the courtyards is dysfunctional in terms of human and aesthetic. The design creates a separate world - paradise - inside the block.

The house is not possible to propose no relation to surrounding Material, shape, urban, typology context. Term project on comparison of conventional light bulbs and light sources present in terms of mutual compensation marks dissertation, which will pay the same issue. The main pillar of the thesis will be a practical measure, whose structure is indicated below. Semester project constitutes a theoretical basis for a thesis and provides an overall introduction to the issue of compensation light sources. Emphasis is placed on the differences between the light source and the real problems may be encountered by consumers during the transition to another type of light bulbs, respectively. fluorescent lamps. Because consumers often replace the original lamps with compact fluorescent lamps, semester project pays attention to just the differences between ordinary incandescent and energy-saving fluorescent lamps.
