The Free Trade Agreements between the EU and the ACP States
Medková, Kateřina ; Štěrbová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Zamykalová, Miroslava (referee)
This thesis surveys the history, development and the present state of trade relations between the European Union and the developing world, represented in this case by the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States (ACP). It primarily explains why the EU has such close relations with these countries. The thesis analyzes the types of agreements that fostered current relations between the EU and the ACP over recent years which were, in part, based upon trading options offered during former times. The thesis also seeks to explain why the standing agreements had to be replaced and what problems arose from their respective negotiations. Last but not least, the thesis describes the present state of trade relations between the EU and the ACP States and presents the current free trade agreements and the specifics.

The Doha Development Agenda
Obenbergerová, Linda ; Němečková, Tereza (advisor) ; Řehořová, Veronika (referee)
As the globalization goes further, the importance of international trade increases as well, not only as an instrument of reaching welfare but as a way to solve problems, too. The World Trade Organization (WTO) tries to put this approach into effect by means of liberalization. The current round of multilateral negotiations at the WTO that was launched in November 2001 in Qatar's capital Doha was to focus on developing countries. That is why it is usually called the Doha Development Agenda (DDA). The opponents claim, that the aspect of development is not strong enough, because developed countries do not want to make concessions (the main topic of this round are agricultural subsidies, harshly defended by the developed countries). The issue is the length of the round and constant postponing of the deadline to conclude DDA or even the absence of a credible classification of members according to their development phase. The original goal of this round lying in improvement of developing countries' situation in world trade is not being fulfilled and remains for the eights year almost unchanged.

Starozhuk, Elizaveta ; Jiránková, Martina (advisor) ; Hnát, Pavel (referee)
Nowadays the problem of Russian federation's entering the WTO is interesting and actual. The proces of dealing with the members of the WTO has been lasting for already 15 years but Russia is not a member yet. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to show the meaning of potential accession to the World Trade Organization for Russian economy from the positive and negative points of view. In my work I am searching for the solution of the long-term discussions of Russia and members and I am trying to reveal barriers and matters of argument that make the process of accession so long. In connection with this the whole progression of Russia in this direction is being observed with the view to a successful dealing with the members of the WTO. I am focusing on possible results of the supposed Russia's entering the WTO and I show the opinion of the particular members.

Duong, Minh Vuong ; Gullová, Soňa (advisor) ; Laschoberová, Libuše (referee)
This bachelor thesis is focused on development of Vietnam from a centrally planned economy to market economy. This thesis is divided into 7 chapters and thematically into two parts. The first part describes the "Doi Moi" reform, which led to the economic success of Vietnam. Effect of economic reforms is closely linked to the entry of Vietnam into the WTO. Doi Moi has contributed to the acceleration of the economy and reducing poverty in many rural areas. The second part includes the procedure of entry of Vietnam into the WTO and the benefits and pitfalls that membership brings. Doi Moi reform and the actual entry of Vietnam into the WTO is closely linked due to changes that started the economy of the country for a long period devastated by war. Entry to the WTO for a relatively poor country like Vietnam is indeed a success. By the entry into WTO the Vietnamese government has proven the ability to meet the objectives set out from the first steps of the Doi Moi reform .
