Past and present the Pisek radiological workplace
KOUTNÍKOVÁ, Anita
X-ray examination is one of the oldest and easiest imaging methods, still widely used today in medicine. X-ray is always performed as an initial examination, and after further consideration or ambiguity of the attending physician, more expensive and complicated examinations with higher radiation load can be taken. For example, X-rays lung tests, which are required to be preoperative, can be determined by a number of possible health indications. Therefore, lung examination can not be substituted for anything similar and will always remain among the most basic investigative methods. In this bachelor thesis I will focus on the history and development of the X-ray workplace in Písek. This will span from its public sector origins, as a department within the local hospital. Until it moved into the private sector, where it remains today. It is generally reported from sources (IHIS) that the number of X-rays performed is constantly increasing. A fact I followed at the Rentgen Písek s.r.o. In this thesis, using a twenty year period from 1997 to 2017, I will discover whether the number of X-ray examinations has changed, as a result of new screening methods such as CT and MR. A final task of my bachelor thesis is to investigate whether the exposure values used for the separation of the X-ray Clinic of the Písek for the given period of observation have reduced or increased.
Normalization-era cinematography in Czech current television broadcasting
Jabůrek, Václav ; Štoll, Martin (advisor) ; Cebe, Jan (referee)
There are lots of studies about normalization cinematography, its content or historical context of its creation. But there was no research about its presence in post-communist television broadcast in the Czech Republic. This work takes a look on five biggest TV channels - ČT1, ČT2, Nova, Prima and Barrandov - in eight chosen years between 1994 and 2015. Content analysis shows, how are Czech televisions dealing with movies and series from communist era, and whether there are any long-term trends connected with this genre. Thanks to the research method, we can see how the usage of those titles has developed up to present. Study also focuses on programmes during weekends and holidays and the amount of normalization movies on these occasions. One part of this work is dealing with communist propaganda and its presence in current broadcast. As Harald Welzer's studies show, old movies are hugely affecting people's understanding of historical events. Therefore, this survey focuses on Czechoslovak movies, which are falsifying modern history such as TV series Thirty Cases of Major Zeman or comedy Bourlive vino. Apart from those cases, less propagandistic movies have also been examined. For example those showing idealized image of normalization society and values of the former regime.

Public Broadcasting Media in Poland and in Czech Republic in 2014-2018
Spišáková, Eva ; Zelená, Alena (advisor) ; Rydel, Jan (referee)
This thesis deals with the comparison of Polish and Czech public television system, the amendment to the media law designed by the Polish government's Law and Justice party in the years 2015 and 2016 and how this amendment reflected on the current state of Polish public television. In the comparison was used the Compliance method and four independent variables were defined: the definition of objectives and missions of public service media in Poland and the Czech Republic, the control bodies of Polish Television and Czech Television, the funding of Polish Television and Czech Television and the program offer of both televisions. Expert interviews conducted with Polish media experts personally or by telephone and media laws in both countries served as the main sources of the research. The main aim of this diploma thesis is to determine to what extent the media systems of public service televisions differ in both countries and how they are similar. The thesis focuses mainly on the relationship of political power and the media, answers the question of how political power in both countries seeks to enter into the financing and control of public media.
Implementation of industrial X-ray computed microtomography in developmental biology

The main aim of this work is to describe the history and development of Czech Television's regional news coverage in years from 1992 till 2012, using the testimonies of direct TV staff involved in this reporting beyond the available resources, thereby expanding the amount of information on this issue. To achieve this information, the oral history method was used and the subsequent verification of the information obtained was done using the literature, diploma theses, annual reports and other sources in this work specified. The result of this work is the extension and addition of new facts and information about the history of Czech Television's regional news, especially of internal character, not yet obtainable from available professional publications or public reports and data. These include information on the nature of interpersonal relations in regional news, the attempt to influence the outward processing and thematic focus of the editorial offices and the specific technical and structural development of individual regional editorial offices. Key words Czech Television, ČT, CST, narrator, reporter, regional news, regions, Večerník, Události, Události v regionech.
Detection and segmentation of lumbar vertebrae in 3D CT data
Nemček, Jakub ; Kolář, Radim (referee) ; Jakubíček, Roman (advisor)
This thesis deals with the detection and the segmentation of lumbar vertebrae in CT image datas. The described detection method is based on the use of a trained SVM classificator and histograms of oriented gradients as the image features. The detection method is applied on two-dimensional sagital slices of the CT image. The segmentation method is implemented as triangular mesh model deformation of models, that are obtained from averaged vertebrae in real CT datas. The first part of the thesis describes essential theoretical knowledge about the anatomy of the axial skeleton, computer tomography, image processing methods and about the detection and segmentation issues. The second part contains the algorithms realisation description, the evaluation and the discussion of the results. Applications of the algorithms in CAD systems is described at the end. The application of all of the points is done in the programming software Matlab.

The methodology of visualization of soft tissue is in biology and medicine a topic for many years. During this period there were approving many techniques how to achieve accurate and authentic image of the researched object or structure. X-ray computed tomography is very helpful to get this goal but is necessary to improve contrasting techniques as well as the techniques of image post-processing. This thesis deals with imaging soft tissue. Specifically, it focuses on mouse liver contrasting with the artificial resin Microfil. Thesis also describes image processing technique (thresholding and region growing) for the data of the measurement with the goal of the visualization of the sample in 3D.
Scintigraphicdetection of the parathyroid tissue in hyperparathyroidism.
Chroustová, Daniela ; Kubinyi, Jozef (advisor) ; Adam, Zdeněk (referee) ; Vlček, Petr (referee)
The aim of this work is the assessment of the diagnostic accuracy in parathyroid glands (PG) detection by various scintigraphic methods and to propose the optimal examination procedure for successful localization of hyperfunctional PG. The patients were divided into 3 groups with individual types of hyperparathyroidism (HPT): group I. primary PHPT (253 patients), group II. normocalcemic NPHPT (75 patients) and group III. secondary SHPT (61 patients). For all the patients protocol A was performed: one day a two-phase SPECT/CT scan using 99mTc-MIBI (technetium 2-methoxyisobutylisonitrile) depicted simultaneously thyroid gland and PG, and another day thyroid SPECT using 99mTc-NaTcO4 (pertechnetate) for 3D subtraction analysis. In case of 44 patients from group I with negative or unclear results of the protocol A also protocol B was performed: PET/CT using 18F-FCH (fluorocholine). The results of surgery and histology served as a "gold standard" for the assessment of the accuracy of scintigraphic findings. In group I. 209/253 patients had a positive finding on scintigraphy using protocol A and 44 patients with an unclear or negative finding of protocol A underwent protocol B examination. In total, 253 patients were operated. The results of the diagnostic accuracy: sensitivity, specificity, positive...
