Design of pedal system for Pneumobil race car using topology optimisation
Pchálek, Václav ; Červinek, Ondřej (referee) ; Vaverka, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with design of pedal assembly of pneumobile racing car to increase its rigidity and reduce its weight. Based on the search, the kinematics of pedal was changed due to more precise determination of pedal ratio. Topology optimization and lattice structure were used to achieve the goals. The results were checked by strength analysis using finite element method. To produce topologically optimized parts use of metal additive technology is assumed, for which the parts have been further modified. Deformation was reduced by 13,4 % for the brake pedal and by 96,8 % for the accelerator pedal. The weight of the pedal system has been reduced by 31 %. This pedal assembly design could be an alternative to the current pedal assembly, as it is lighter and meets the requirements for higher rigidity.
Analysis of mechanical properties of composite materials printed by additive 3D printing technology
Mudrák, Michal ; Joska, Zdeněk (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
This thesis deals with the analysis of mechanical properties of composite materials used for 3D printing by Markforged company. The theoretical part is focused on the characterization of composite materials and analysis of mechanical tests. The experimental part deals with the production of test specimens for specific mechanical tests (tensile test, Shore D hardness test and bending test). The test sapples with Onyx base material are individually reinforced with carbon and high-temperature glass fibers (HSHT). There are statistically evaluated selected parameters for individual mechanical tests (tensile strength, elongation, modulus of elasticity, Shore D hardness, bending stress and bending deformation). The thesisis completed by comparing selected parameters of composite materials with overall recommendations for users.
Cold Spray coatings on high strength steels
Šesták, Stanislav ; Čupera, Jan (referee) ; Řehořek, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on possible applications of the Cold Spray additive technology in context of high strength steels. The theoretical part of this work represents an extensive research on the topic of Cold Spray technology, showing connections between many of the mechanisms of this technology. This part also focuses specifically on high strength steels, their types, microstructures and properties. The experimental part of this work examines four samples of Cold Spray coatings on a high strength steel. After depositing these coatings, microstructure and microhardness analysis are provided.
Testing of parts produced by Bound Metal Deposition technology
Hradil, Antonín ; Vaverka, Ondřej (referee) ; Koutecký, Tomáš (advisor)
Bachelor thesis on the topic Testing of parts produced by Bound Metal Deposition technology. Aim of the work is to obtain mechanical properties of products made by Studio System. We have achieved this by performing tensile test and optical metallography. The results of this thesis are mechanical properties of the tensile test. Re, Rm, E, etc. Another results are microscopic images of microstructure of material. Thanks to this work, we are getting closer to the technology Bound Metal Deposition. We approximate scientifically its mechanical properties and the microstructure of the product surface.
Design of modern speaker body with usage of new technology
Kůst, Martin ; Prokop, Aleš (referee) ; Řehák, Kamil (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the analysis and design optimization of a speaker cabinet (enclosure) produced by the additive technology of 3D sand printing. The introductory part is devoted to the theory, both in the field of noise, vibration and the method of their calculations, as well as the theory of speakers and their systems. Numerical and experimental modal analysis is performed, which were compared to determine the mechanical properties of the new material, including material damping. This is followed by experimental and numerical harmonic analysis, with output in the form of a numerical model describing the behaviour of the structure during its excitation. The data are compared with a modal analysis of the internal acoustic space and the critical shapes and their frequencies are determined. At the end of the work, construction modifications are proposed to increase the rigidity of enclosures, the influence of which is evaluated on the created numerical models.
Vortex tube made by additive technology
Spáčil, Petr ; Šnajdárek, Ladislav (referee) ; Chýlek, Radomír (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is designing and 3D printing of a detachable Ranque-Hilsch vortex tube. In the following chapters will be presented basic types of vortex tubes and its usage. Then the thesis deals with parameters, that have an impact on the effectiveness of vortex tube. In the main part, the design of individual parts is described. After 3D printing and assembling, the vortex tube's performance is measured with variations of some parameters.
Use of 3D technology in foundry industry
Straka, Pavel ; Krutiš, Vladimír (referee) ; Pernica, Vítězslav (advisor)
The work is focused on replacing a faulty briefcase handle with an aluminium substitution. The handle is fabricated with the help of reverse engineering, where the handle is scanned with a 3D scanner. With that information, a model copy of the part is made, which is 3Dprinted from PLA and PolyCast materials. These handles are used as expendable models, which are used for casting using an “investment casting” method. Those are made from an AlSi10Mg alloy. Theoretical part deals with additive technologies, which are mostly used for manufacturing of foundry models and moulds. Next, the basic principles of 3Dscanning are described, and the term reverse engineering is also explained.
Application of Metal Additive Technology in Production of a Blisk for Turbine Engine of a Auxiliary Power Unit
Robl, Jan ; Ňuksa, Petr (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The thesis deals with the possible use of additive technology in the production of strong thermally exposed components of turbine engines. The first part of the thesis is dedicated to the issue of processing heat-resistant materials by SLM method, introduction of conventional production of selected part and outline of currently used progressive methods in precision casting technology. These theoretical findings are further applied in the practical part of the thesis, which deals with the analysis of mechanical properties of cast and printed material IN 939. Experimental part also includes production of the blisk of the first stage turbine of the auxiliary power unit S5L by SLM additive technology. The thesis also includes analysis of fracture surfaces and metallographic analysis of samples using light and scanning electron microscopy. The thesis ends with the evaluation of the achieved results.
Analysis of Dimensional Accuracy and Mechanical Properties of Plastic Components Made by 3D Printing
Horák, Ondřej ; Joska, Zdeněk (referee) ; Sedlák, Josef (advisor)
The Master's thesis deals with the determination of mechanical properties of materials used for 3D printing by ALPS ELECTRIC CZECH, s.r.o. (PETG, PLA, ABS, PLA ESD), extended of new materials (ASA, PC / ABS). The prepared test samples, produced by 3D printing technology Fused Deposition Modeling, were analyzed using mechanical tests (tensile test and two hardness tests), surface roughness and dimensional accuracy. Statistical evaluation was performed for individual materials of selected parameters (tensile strength, modulus of elasticity in tension, elongation, Shore hardness, hardness of ball indentation). The conclusion of the thesis is devoted to the comparison of materials by selected parameters and production costs. The additive material PLA Filament Plasty Mladeč proved to be the best with its properties and the second lowest price.
