Traffic Monitoring from Aerial Video Data
Babinec, Adam ; Orság, Filip (referee) ; Rozman, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis proposes a system for extraction of vehicle trajectories from aerial video data for traffic analysis. The system is designed to analyse video sequence of a single traffic scene captured by an action camera mounted on an arbitrary UAV flying at the altitudes of approximately 150 m. Each video frame is geo-registered using visual correspondence of extracted ORB features. For the detection of vehicles, MB-LBP classifier cascade is deployed, with additional step of pre-filtering of detection candidates based on movement and scene context. Multi-object tracking is achieved by Bayesian bootstrap filter with an aid of the detection algorithm. The performance of the system was evaluated on three extensively annotated datasets. The results show that on the average, 92% of all extracted trajectories are corresponding to the reality. The system is already being used in the research to aid the process of design and analysis of road infrastructures.
Expansion of Skydog Aircraft Model Control System by Remote and Autonomous Control by Android Application
Boček, Michal ; Šimek, Václav (referee) ; Strnadel, Josef (advisor)
The thesis aims to design and implement an Android application with ability to control the autopilot of the Skydog aircraft model using the wireless telemetry. The application shall receive data from an aircraft model gathered from various installed sensors. These data shall be then processed and corresponding instructions for autopilot shall be sent back. When collision with terrain or obstacle is detected, the application shall send instructions to autopilot to avoid such collision. RRT algorithm is used to find collision-free flight trajectory. Database of known obstacles and digital terrain model are provided to application in formats XML and GeoTIFF respectively.
Aerodynamic Characteristics Identification of Atmospheric Airplane from Flight Measurement Results
Zikmund, Pavel ; Salga,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Jebáček, Ivo (referee) ; Daněk, Vladimír (advisor)
The thesis deals with aerodynamic characteristics identification from flight measurement. The topic is part of flight mechanic – handling qualities. The first theoretic part consists of three identification methods description: Error equation method, Output error method and Filter error method. Mathematical model of an airplane is defined and restricted to the motion with 3 degree of freedom. There is also introduced simulation of flight measurement for identification software validation. Practical part is focused on experiment preparation, execution and evaluation. The airplane VUT 700 Specto had been chosen to carry out flight tests. The airplane was modified to the new electric powered VUT 700e Specto after first measurement flights with combustion engine. Data record from on-board measurement unit was completed by telemetric data from autopilot and remote control system. Flight tests were carried out in stabilised mode of autopilot in symmetric flight. The results were confronted with analytical analysis results and DATCOM+ software parameter estimation.

Flying drones rescue systems
Hájek, Tomáš ; Janhuba, Luboš (referee) ; Pejchar, Jan (advisor)
This paper addresses the issue of security and integration of UAVs in air traffic operations and analyses possible risks. This work defines methodology to demonstrate airworthiness of the parachute recovery system under extreme climatic conditions. The first part of the methodology deals with the compliance performance requirements in external environment and the second part verifies performance parachute canopy. Methodology developed herein is subsequently verified by practical tests on parachute recovery system Galaxy GBS 10.
Status quo and development trends of remote sensing usage for forensic ekotechnique: forest and trees
Introvičová, Sabina ; Janata, Přemysl
This paper refers to possibility of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) usage for FEFT experts’ needs. Different Remote Sensing Stations (Czech Geological Survey, Forest Management Institute and others) obtain Czech territory actual pictorial data from satellites together with aerial images, LiDaR data from Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Defense and Czech Office for Surveying Mapping and Cadastre (COSMC) joint project that deals with regular two years scanning of the Czech Republic. Remote Sensing Stations also have resources for obtaining actual aerial photographs of investigated objects and localities through commercial subjects operating own airplanes. State organizations initiating expertise do not have resources for actual scanning of the investigated localities with airplanes. Forensic experts depend on COSMC products. COSMC is the only one of the organizations dealing with Czech territory scanning which has authority to sell actual aerial images if are available. Remote-controlled UAVs can aboard equipment for remote sensing. UAVs service expenses are many-times lower than aircraft service expenses. Department of Geoinformation Technologies at Mendel University Brno has a multirotor UAV available that is equipped to gain optical and infrared band data.
Processing of images taken from UAV
Ptáček, Ondřej ; Plánka, Ladislav (referee) ; Hanzl, Vlastimil (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the processing and evaluation of the pictures taken by unmanned aerial vehicles - UAV. The introductory part is devoted to the definition, use, applications and types of UAV especially for photogrammetric purposes. Also the software equipment is described, including a description and examples of several types of possible outcomes. Further the measurements, computational works and process of elaboration in used software programs are described. Achieved outcomes of elaboration are also presented. In conclusion, the overall evaluation and assessment of the results of measurement is done of set of points.
Unmanned Aerial System design competition
Small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle for vegetation monitoring
Trojánek, Tomáš ; Pejchar, Jan (referee) ; Dvořák, Petr (advisor)
The aim of this thesis was to select the most appropriate platforms for the fulfillment of required flight mission. The first part reviews available unmanned vehicles suitable for vegetation monitoring and includes both commercially available and self-made types. There are presented basic parameters, recommended equipment and tested configuration of each platform. The second part includes graphical comparison of all models in different categories and the most suitable platform has been selected on its basis. The model project which is based on the selected platform is presented in the final section.
Flying robot for geophysical purposes
Růžička, Jakub ; Veverka, Petr (referee) ; Simeonov, Simeon (advisor)
This work deals with the selection of UAV configurations with vertical take-off and landing and the hovering ability. Therefore it is focused on a mostly helicopter conceptions, especially the ones used UAVs or those which may seem suitable for UAV usage. It also contains the thrust measurement. The final part is aimed at design of four configurations suitable for UAV and their comparison using AHP.
