Influence of soil properties on mobility of selected risk elements in the soil and some methods of their decontamination
BEDRNÍČEK, Jan
Development of society and the increasing population of the planet are related to the increasing discharge of wastes and pollutants. These include heavy metals. Purpose of this bachelor´s thesis is to briefly clarify behaving of lead, cadmium and mercury in the soil; it means content, forms, mobility, sorption and its influencing factors and their impact on the animal and plant organism. This thesis also gives a wider view on the issue of decontamination techniques with focusing on bioremediation and mainly phytoremediation with the use of plant hyperaccumulators.
Methodology for monitoring of air contamination in the vicinity of public roads by polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on the basis of their analysis on the surface of tree leaves
Maršík, Petr ; Kinderman, Pavel ; Vaněk, Tomáš
The methodology deals with the monitoring of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and applies a natural system of sedimentation of pollutants in local vegetation. According to the obtained results is possible to evaluate which of the used woody plants have higher capability to extract harmful substances such as PAH from the air and therefore should be preferred as a vegetation cover.
Phytoremediation of soils contaminated with some heavy metals
DOUŠEK, Štěpán
The problem of soil contamination with heavy metals and subsequent decontamination requires more attention. It is necessary to determine the methods to be environmentally friendly while also effective. This thesis offers a broader perspective on the various techniques with special emphasis on phytoremediation. The reference to the metal cadmium.
Multiinstrumental analysis of the effect of cadmium ions on selected flax cultivars
Kryštofová, O. ; Baloun, J. ; Húska, D. ; Diopan, V. ; Shestivska, V. ; Zítka, O. ; Adam, V. ; Macek, Tomáš ; Macková, M. ; Havel, L. ; Kizek, R.
Multiinstrumental analysis of the effect of cadmium ions on selected flax cultivars was performed, revealing marked differences in synthesis of protective compounds by chromatographic, spectrometric and electrochemical techniques.

Navrátil, Oldřich ; Kludkiewicz, Barbara ; Vinokurov, Konstantin ; Horáčková, V. ; Sehnal, František
Plant breeding is facing a new era, the horizons of which are determined by transition from studies of the role of individual genes in biological processes to global search for the role of genome and proteome in determination of biological processes. Thegeneral aim of the center is to utilize the potential of the functional genomics and proteomics to obtain novel information and breeding material to increase the quality of agricultural products, specifically, to improve the agronomic parameters and modifying specific properties of crop plants important not just in the Czech Republic, but also in Central Europe in general. Research will focus on increasing of (i) quality of wheat and barley corn, pea seeds and potato tubers, (ii) potato and pea resistance to pests and pathogenes, and (iii) heavy metal uptake and resistance in flux for phytoremediation.

Phytoremediation methods are very dynamically booming segment of remediation technologies in present time. These methods used plants and microorganisms for extraction, and in case of organics for degradation, of xenobiotics. Ability of plants involved in these detoxification reactions is depend not only on ability to uptake of xenobiotics and on enzymatic aparatus of tested plant species, but also on toxicity of accumulated contaminant and on toxicity of potential byproducts.
STUDY OF ACCUMULATION AND TRANSPORT OF HEAVY METALS BY PLANT CULTURES OF POPULUS TREMULA X TREMULOIDES AND CANNABIS SATIVA IN LABORATORY CONDITIONS AND ON REAL LOCALITY
Benešová, Dagmar ; Soudek, Petr ; Petrová, Šárka ; Malá, J. ; Najman, M. ; Najmanová, P. ; Kafka, Z. ; Vaněk, Tomáš
In this research the cultures of hemp and aspen as a representative of herbs and woody species were selected. The experiments were focused on study of ability of plants to accumulated heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Zn, As a Cu) and translocated them to upper part of plants.
Leaching of Zn, Cd, Pb, a Cu from Penny-Cress (Thlaspi caerulescens) Used for Phytoremediation
Pohořelý, Michael ; Šyc, Michal ; Tlustoš, P. ; Habart, J. ; Punčochář, Miroslav
This work deals with decontamination technology – phytoextraction, which is used for decontamination of soil in-situ. Studied plant was penny-cress (Thlaspi caerulescens) that serves as hyperaccumulator of heavy metals.
Fuel Characteristics of Flax (Linum usitatissimum) Applied for Phytoremediation of Industrially Contaminated Sites
Šyc, Michal ; Pohořelý, Michael ; Toufarová, H. ; Žáčková, P. ; Punčochář, Miroslav
Expansion of energetic crops growing leads to the need of cultivation of soil that was not used so far. Flax as an energetic crop is possible to grow on insdustrially contaminated sites. Furthermore, heavy metals bioaccumulation ability of flax caused remediation of contaminated soils by moving them to phytomass. This phytoremediation method is called phytoextraction and it is one of the phytoremediation technologies. Fuel characteristics and usability of flax for selected heavy metals (Cu, Pb, Zn, Cd, Hg, Cr, Ni, As) phytoextraction are presented in short-paper.
Nové úlohy geneticky modifikovaných rostlin v ochraně životního prostředí
Macek, Tomáš ; Kotrba, Pavel ; Svatoš, Aleš ; Nováková, Martina ; Demnerová, K. ; Macková, Martina
The generation of transgenic plants in the use of environmental protection targets both fields of pollution prevention and pollution removal; we prepared specifically tailored plants emitting insect pheromones, plant with increased metal accumulation and plant expressing bacterial PCB-degradative genes.
