Mapping approaches of youth drop-in centres and outreach social services to xenophobia and racism among adolescents

The thesis concentrates on Approaches of youth drop-in centers and outreach services towards xenophobia and racism among teenagers. It deals with topics, such as xenophobia, racism, situation of Czech society concerning these two issues and the legal view point towards it. It describes the period of growing up, what features and reasons of xenophobia and racism appear among the teenage group. It characterizes a growing up person as a user of social services. The thesis describes inspirational approaches of multicultural education heading towards development of tolerance, possibilities of education and approaches to xenophobia and racism of various organizations. Further on, it gives a number of examples of experiences from several other European countries. It introduces social services of youth drop-in centers and outreach services. It mainly deals with approaches of both services towards working with teenage clients who show signs of xenophobia and racism. The practical part of the thesis discovers approaches of social workers of various youth drop-in centers and outreach services in the Czech Republic towards xenophobia and racism among teenager clients. Stresses and psychotraumas of clients using low treshold centres services for children and youths in Prague

The aim of this thesis is to map stresses and psychotraumata clients of low- threshold centres for children and youth in Prague. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part describes the basic concepts such as stress, psychotraumata, socio-pathological phenomena, youth at risk and low-threshold centre for children and youth. Need and possibility of improving servises of low-treshold facilities for children and youth "Club 21" in Beroun

The subject of this thesis is to map the external environment of help available to children and youth provided by low threshold facilities such as the "club 21" in Beroun. Through research with practitioners in selected institutions, the thesis investigates the need and possibilities of improving its services in the context of the major areas of social environment - social, technical, economic and political - legal. In order to achieve this objective the theoretical part identifies the milestones in the history of the development of social services in general, and in relation their function and contribution to society. The following section deals with low-threshold facilities in its objectives, mission and services, content and methods of work including the characteristics of the "Club 21". The practical part describes research work carried out by qualitative research in its various phases, it summarizes and interprets the findings and it converts them to the level of observable characters. In addition to mapping and orientation of the real possibilities of low-threshold facilities development for children and youth "Club 21" the aim of this thesis is also to provide an opportunity to apply their knowledge in practice.
The influence of supervision and job evaluation on motivation of social services workers

The thesis concentrates on influence of work evaluation and supervision on motivation of workers of low threshold clubs for children and youth. Supervision and work evaluation is perceived as an obligation for providers of social services defined in quality standards of social services. The thesis concetrates on effects of supervision and work evaluation on the motivation of workers. The opening of the thesis describes roles in the process of motivation (roles of workers and the roles of their supervisors and senior executives), along with two fundamental theories of motivation (developed by Maslow and Herzberg). In the same chapter, the risks connected with work motivation (helpers' syndrome and burn-out syndrome) within helping professions are tackled. The thesis further introduces measures, which influence motivation of workers, employees of social services, namely financial recognition and education. Attention is also paid to non-financial means of motivating employees. Two selected measures of non-financial motivation, supervision and work evaluation, are described in greater detail, specifically in terms of their foundation, function, form, procedures, purpose and impact. Práce s romskými dětmi v předškolních klubech nízkoprahových centrech

This bachelor thesis deals with the function of community centres for children and youth with a particular emphasis on Roma children. It analyses the challenges Roma children may face and what a role community centres can play in dealing with these challenges. The thesis is basically divided into two main parts: theoretical part of the thesis provides an overview of the current situation of the Roma minority in the Czech Republic, especially education and upbringing of Roma children. It elaborates how the community centres were established, how they work and what the expectations of the founders and the employees are. Additionally, it describes the ways of curriculum work with children in these clubs and how they work. The practical part analyzes structured interviews conducted with social workers from the community centres in two cities: Ostrava and České Budějovice. The outcome of the practical part is a comparison of the community centres within as well as between these two cities.
Free time programs for Roma

The bachelor thesis introduces various organizations that deal with the problematics of the Roma ethnic group. It is focused on the contemporary situation of the Roma and for Roma organisations in the Czech Republic, their provided services and the way of their financial support. The work also gives information of the representative organizations which provide mainly free time programs for Roma kids and teenagers and it introduces their particular activities. The essential meaning of streetwork and the institutions focused on the children and teenagers from the socially weak environment is explained here as well. The problematics of Roma children educational proces is also mentioned. The practical part of the thesis concentrates on the Daytime centre for the kids and teenagers in Žďár nad Sázavou. Its contemporary condition and merit of the programmes are evaluated here.
The influence of experiential education to the clients of the youth club

Value orientation of adolescents attending low threshold clubs for children and youth in Srakonice and Blatná

This master's thesis is focused on the value orientation of the adolescents attendingthe low-threshold club services in Strakonice and Blatná. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the time period of an adolescence and the changes that happen in the life. Then, it further analyses what the values and the value orientationare, how the value orientation is build up, what is its position in a matter of researching and what are the low-threshold services for children and youth. The practical part of the thesis is based on the research which is characterised by quantitative survey that was realized at the low-threshold club for children and youth CROSS in Strakonice and STATION 17 in Blatná. The aim of the realized survey was to find out what is the value orientation of the adolescents attending these both clubs. The ascertained opinions of the adolescents correspond, to some extent, with the theoretical assumptions.
Work with Roma children and youth in community centres

The bachelor thesis will deal with the problems connected to the work with the Roma children and youth in the community centres and its specifics. The aim will be to analyse the needs and problems which are the Roma children and youth facing. The bachelor thesis is focused on the possible solutions, mainly through the community centres for children and youth and work of their employees. In the theoretical part of the bachelor thesis there will be outlined a brief overview of the current situation of the Roma minority in the Czech Republic which is especially focused on the questions connected to the education, upbringing and free time of these young people. The emphasis will be put on the working of the non-profit organizations which are trying to help the Roma living in socially excluded localities in Cheb. The practical part will be focused on the field research in the particular community centres. An experiment, which will try to capture the reasons of visiting these centres by the Roma children and youth, will be performed by using the structured interviews. Another detected area of the bachelor thesis will be the course of their cooperation with the social workers.

This bachelor thesis characterizes low-threshold facilities for children and youth. This paper aims on the term low-threshold ad it focuses on social services of low-threshold facilities. It also describes the specific low-threshold facility for children and youth in Ceske Budejovice, where the research was made. The aim of this reserch was to find out how social services NZDM assist users in their life situation and how the services do influece them. For data collection, the mehod of qualitative reserch technique with help of semi-structured interview was used. The result researched are summarized within the discussion and the conclusion of this thesis.
