The possibilities of music therapy use in the framework of primary education

THE ABSTRACT This diploma thesis aims to analyse the use of music therapy techniques as means to reduce the manifestations of attention deficit disorders. Furthermore, it deals with the application of said supportive measures in the framework of bullying prevention and its pathological effects. It also focuses on ways music therapy can be instrumental in a pupil's personal and social growth. In the theoretical part, the Framework Educational Programme for Elementary Education is introduced as one of the key changes in primary education in the framework of curricular reform. The chapter also addresses the topic of inclusive education, supportive measures and key competencies. Later on, music therapy is the subject of interest. Its methods, specializations and possibilities of use are listed. The chapter Specific learning and behavioural disorders introduces specific disorders, concentrating in detail on dyslexia, mutism, ADHD and ADD. I point out the use of music therapy as a re-educational tool, as well. I lay out a range of music therapy games which are tried out in the research part of the thesis. Use of expressive therapies in psychopedies

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the application of elements of expressive therapies in people with mental disabilities. In the theoretical part, reader in several chapters will be acquainted with the issue of mental disability, etiology and classification of mental retardation, the rights of people with mental disabilities, how and where these people can spend their free time and reader can learn basic information about therapies used in special pedagogics. Especially expressive therapies are being described - music therapy, art therapy, bibliotherapy, drama therapy and dance movement therapy. This part is followed by the practical part, where the research is carried out by qualitative method. With a non-standardized, unstructured five-month observation, research is conducted at the Studio Oáza - the leisure time center for people with mental disabilities. Studio Oáza organizes hobby groups and activities for people with mental retardation. The research is carried out within two hobby groups, music movement education and art education, where elements of expressive therapies are used, namely music therapy and art therapy. Music Therapy and use for disabled children

The thesis contains a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part deals with a concept and a definition of music therapy, history, aims, methods of music therapy and also organisations where music therapy is done. The thesis deals with connection of music therapy and children with disabilities. The topic of disability is described in several categories. It lists the types of disabilities, connection between disabled children and music therapy. It also deals with a funcion of a music therapist and it inroduces different therapists who work with us. The practical part contains my personal project, which consists of 3 lesson in length of 45 minutes each. I took advantage of the fact that in my surrounding there is a disabled child and I organized lessons of music therapy with him.
THE INFLUENCE OF MUSIC ON PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR PEOPLE IN EXTREME LIFE SITUATIONS

The diploma thesis explores the influence of music on the personal development of people in marginal and extreme life situations. In the theoretical part it presents music in its history, its great influence on human personality development and obviously ways to cope with demanding and difficult life situations. The diploma thesis tries to document the life stories of people, who find themselves in extremely limited life situations and these people solved their situation through music and musical self education. The diploma thesis examines, investigates and assesses and evaluates it from position of music educator and examines how music influenced the quality of their lives during health disorders and distabilities and social exclusion. Voted and selected qualitative research strategy helping by using a structured interview technique with three respondents was to obtain and get relevant replies and answers to research questions how they experienced the difficult life situations with the help of music, next, how they have dealt with extreme life situations, and, last time, how the experience of their difficult life situations has been assessed by the educator. The diploma thesis confirmed the assumption that music as an art and instrument of music therapy can be used regularly in direct social work with those people, which they find themselves in difficult life situations as a means of improving their lives.
Use of music therapy to adapt children to nursery schooling

This diploma thesis is focused on music therapy and related activities that were used to adapt children to nursery school. The theoretical part describes children adaptation and music therapy in general - history, definitions, methods and effects on pre-school children. The practical part contains a methodical list of music therapy activities that were applied on two and three-year-old children. The conclusion of my thesis indicates that repeatedly using specific music therapy activities makes adaptation less problematic.

Title: Use of rhythmic stimulation in physiotherapy in patients with acquired brain damage Abstract: The topic of the bachelor thesis is the use of rhythmic stimulation in physiotherapy in patients with acquired brain damage. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains 4 sections. The first section is entirely dedicated to the acquired brain damage. The second section describes the motor system and structures involved in its management. The third section summarizes information related to music therapy, neurological music therapy, rhythmical stimulation in neurological music therapy, music, rhythm and their influence on the human brain. In the last section, the Therapeutic Instrumental Music Performance is described in more details, the elements of which are further used in the practical part. The practical part is built on two case studies illustrating two female patients with an upper limb motor disorder caused by cerebral stroke. During the therapeutic sessions with the patients different elements of Therapeutic Instrumental Music Performance were applied. The influence of the relaxation music and the use of techniques of music therapy and choreotherapy in work with mentally handicapped individuals

The thesis studies the influence of relaxation music, music therapy and choreotherapy in the work with mentally handicapped individuals. It further concentrates on relaxation music, relaxation and rehabilitation while the attention is also paid to the music therapy and its different types, methods and purposes. The last part of the thesis focuses on the choreotherapy. The next section uncovers the specific activities which can be performed during the interaction with mentally handicapped individuals, and not only with them. All acti-vities are divided according to the specific therapy. In general, the thesis pursues the influence of specific therapies on the mentally handicapped individuals, however it can also serve as a set of instructions for people who would like to study these therapies, or for people who work with mentally handicapped individuals.
