Utilizing an interactive whiteboard to learn verbs in German lesson

The aim of this master's thesis, "Utilizing an interactive whiteboard to learn verbs in German lesson" is presented in two parts. The theoretical part is devoted to aspects which influence teaching, and therefore the preparation of interactive materials. The practical part is focused on the proposal of activities used on the interactive whiteboard. The theoretical part is divided into three chapters. The first chapter allows us to view the educative process from a psychological perspective, attempting to clarify the importance of relevant styles and strategies used effectively while learning a foreign language. The concern of chapter two is an interactive board and multimedia. Principles which should be followed by educators who are creating teaching materials are also introduced. Furthermore, there are presented internet portals which can be used in German lessons. The last chapter of the theoretical part is dedicated to grammar and the grammatical category - verbs. The practical part is predominantly based on creating your own teaching materials, which are designed to practise German verbs. The activities are split up into two sections (for elementary school and high school). An evaluation of the teaching materials results from survey. They were verified in the educational practice.
Employment of multimedia in chemistry education at high schools in the Czech Republic

Bachelor thesis deals with multimedia support for teaching chemistry in secondary schools. Clarify reader the possibility of using ICT, not only in chemistry education. These technologies have an important role in modern teaching and learning process. Part of this work is the creation and evaluation of the questionnaire survey, which gives a rough overview on the prevalence and use of multimedia and multimedia applications in Czech schools.

Authoring systems for the development of multimedia learning objects in teacher's preparation

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of multimedia learning objects and authoring systems for its design. In the form of a qualitative survey the paper discovers the most frequent practice teachers' requirements for these objects and systems. Subsequently, the paper carries out theoretical analysis of commonly available authoring systems for multimedia learning object creation and performs their evaluation from the point of view of the identified requirements. After that, the thesis notes that there is no authoring system available on the market that would adequately meet the requirements identified. Therefore, the paper works on the design and realization of such a system. Finally, the designed and implemented system is deployed in a real educational environment and its contribution to the teacher's work is validated by accomplished action research.
The position and the function of the public service radio in the age of multimedia

The master thesis The position and the function of the public service radio in the age of multimedia deals with changes of production of Český rozhlas (Czech radio) from 2005 till the present time in connection with the beginning of multimedia technologies. The most important chapteres of the theoretical part introduce definitions of basic concepts which are important basis for the analytical part: multimedia, media convergence, concept of active audience, interactivity and digitization. Another chapteres deal with public service media and technological and cultural development in the territory of Czech republic. The aim of practical part is to analyze technological changes, which happend in Český rozhlas after beginning of multimedia era, by using the method of case study. The purpose is to do complex introduction of multimedia platforms by means radio mediates its production. Another aim is to find out, how multimedia influence interaction between radio and its audience. The master thesis focus on the analysis of social networks through which Český rozhlas communicates with audience. The text also deal with the question, if beginning of multimedia era influences forms of traditional formats of broadcasting or if new formats emerge.
Picture, sound and text in art and at school

This diploma thesis is based on the assumption, that we live in the speeches of our surroundings. These manifestations and answers environments affect various aspects of our lives. One answer is surely sound. By examining this phenomenon, in the context of expressive subjects at primary school, we can achieve a closer engagement with our environment and understand its functioning. Formation of this feeling of belonging is a basic task of the school. Use of "Friends" series in teaching English on B2 level

This thesis deals with the possibilities of using television series `Friends' in teaching English on B2 level to further linguistic and communicative competences of the students. The purpose of this thesis was to find out, whether a systematic use of the series, as a motivation to the students, for sparking a discussion or conversation among them or as means of immersion in the language and acquisition of the language, would be possible in a high school English teaching environment for a prolonged period of time. The thesis also debates the advantages and disadvantages of using series, compared to the advantages and disadvantages of using different multimedia. The thesis contains a list of activities that have been used during the testing of the series and several ideas on their modification.
The influence of electronic distribution of periodicals on print journalism

The bachelor thesis named The influence of electronic distribution of periodicals on print journalism deals with the specifics of electronic distribution, its position among other new media and its relation towards traditional media. This document focuses mainly on the question whether electronic distribution while combining principles of both internet and print journalism can influence the future of print media - its form or even existence. Other hypothesis presented by this document inspects the possibility of utilizing an electronic periodical for saving an unprofitable print version of given periodical - film monthly Svět filmu is used as an example. Both principles of electronic distribution and Svět filmu functioning are being inquired with support of depth interviews with major Czech electronic distribution services representatives and Svět filmu representatives respectively. In addition this work offers a overview of Czech electronic distribution services and examples of digital periodicals. In order to provide complete context a brief description of situation of electronic distribution in other countries is included and listed hypotheses are supplemented by interviews-based prognostic speculations concerning electronic distribution's future and impact on print distribution.
Multimedia in the Teaching of French language

This bachelor thesis is focused on the multimedia support in the teaching of French and concepts that are associated with this issue, such as the medium, multimedia and modern technology. It is also specializes in multimedia foreign language teaching and multimedia teaching support with the help of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), video, animation and sound. The theoretical part ends with concepts related to multimedia teaching. It is about interactivity, interactive utility and also about media literacy, which is one of the pillars of digital literacy. The practical part deals with French textbooks. It examines their universality, the degree of involvement of multimedia assignments and their time intensity. Finally, we propose alternations of multimedia support in the analyzed textbooks. The conclusion is that the examined textbooks were insufficient from the point of view of the use of multimedia support, so it is up to the teacher to invent the exercise himself with the help of multimedia support.
Interactive Fiction with Use of Multimedia

This bachelor thesis focuses on a type of computer games called interactive fiction and the multimedia that can be incorporated into them. The first part of the thesis focuses on the definition of interactive fictions and their different characteristics. These properties include story, interactivity, and multimedia. Next, interactive fiction is characterized in terms of its control and story structure. This type of computer game is also described with its possible use in education, either by teacher, or a student. The last part of this theses focuses on various developer tools which can be used to create this type of computer game.
