Generation of Energy Using Renewable Resources
Vrbka, Martin ; Langerová, Petra (referee) ; Froehling, Kenneth (advisor)
Lighting and lighting systems for stand-alone applications
Čejka, Lukáš ; Škoda, Jan (referee) ; Baxant, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of lighting systems for stand-alone applications. These systems are independent of the electrical connection and they are powered by batteries. Batteries are charged by independent sources. The work is more focused on an autonomous lighting system that uses a solar panel. It mentions the main components of the system. Rozvoj komunitní energetiky
Hrdličková, Gabriela
The diploma thesis addresses the development of community renewable energy facilities in the area of the Bobrava local action group in the South Moravian Region. The objectives of the thesis is to discover whether there are currently any functioning facilities for community renewable energy in the selected area of investigation; what are the positive and negative aspects of community energy provision; what are the barriers impeding creation of such facilities; what is the general public opinion and finally, the future plans of the municipalities in the development of this industry. Information for the fulfilment of the objectives has been obtained by the method of structured interviews, which were conducted with senior civil servants of ten member municipalities of LAG Bobrava. The obtained results revealed that community renewable energy is not provided in any of the selected municipalities, also the specific advantages, like self-sufficiency and modernization. Mentioned are also negatives like for example high acquisition costs and insufficient legislation. All the municipalities approached plan to introduce community energy in their area within the framework of municipal buildings.
Připravenost obcí mikroregionu Moštěnka k posílení energetické soběstačnosti
Hrudíková, Jana

The main objective of this thesis is to find out to what extent the municipalities are currently equipped and what are the prerequisites for the transition to energy self-sufficiency. The theoretical part defines energy self-sufficiency and the conditions that it is necessary to meet for its realization. These are energy-efficient houses and use of renewables. Subsequently, research on the functioning of the energy sector in the Czech Republic is conducted. The analytical part consists of three main chapters, namely the natural conditions that are central to the use of renewable energy sources, the current state of buildings and energy infrastructure. Subsequently, a set of recommendations is included that municipalities can follow in the future to increase energy self-sufficiency.
The Impact of the Renewable Energy Transition on Rentier Structures: A Case Study of Saudi Arabia since the 2014 Oil Price Plunge
Remsey, Diana Nora ; Kazharski, Aliaksei (advisor) ; Weinfurter, Jaroslav (referee)
1 MA Thesis 2023 Diana Nora Remsey (53969839) Abstract The adoption of renewable energy in rentier states prompts a crucial inquiry into its potential impact and whether it could signal the transformation or eventual decline of the rentier state model. This paper investigates the impact of the renewable energy transition on the rentier structures of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia after the 2014 oil price plunge. Through a qualitative case study approach and content analysis of primary and secondary literature, the study explores how Saudi Arabia's efforts to diversify its energy mix and embrace renewable technologies influence its rentier economic model and political structures. The findings reveal significant strides towards renewable energy adoption under the Vision 2030 plan. However, the rentier structures and the role of ruling elites remain largely intact, with a focus on economic growth and political stability. The implications suggest a need for comprehensive approaches to address underlying rentier structures while promoting economic and political reforms for a sustainable energy transition in rentier states.
Providing flexibility with detachable loads Procurement and commodity product prediction
Sykora, Jan ; Radil, Lukas ; Pilař, Martin
Flexibility is generally considered as the potential ofa facility (generation/consumption or storage) to actively changethe amount of its generation/consumption/accumulated energybased on price signals or direction. This control strategies ismanaged to correct deviations of the electricity grid or to ensurethat the purchase/sale of electricity is profitable for the flexibilityprovider. This paper presents a comparison of the control of heatpump consumption to provide consumption flexibility.
