Art education and photography in kindergarten

The thesis discusses the possibilities of art activities in kindergarten through visual media, digital photohraphy. The main goal of this work is to offer children a digital photograph as an alternative to classical art techniques and bring the probe into the possibility of meeting with children with visual language from pre-school age. The aim is meaningful application of new methods of educational process through alternative (electronic - digital) media. The research created art projects for the digital photography, which confirmed that the art project focused on digital photography can realize aa included in the program offer kindergarten.
The Change of the Image of Photojournalism in Digital Era

We will discuss here the issue of manipulation in the digital era of photojournalism. At first we will describe the relation between photography and its referent inculding its ability to represent the reality. Depicting the contrast between analogue and digital photography we will point out the independent position of digital photography from its referent, which is creating better possibilities for manipulation and decreasing the credibility of photography. Then we will analyze the text The Dusk of Photojournalism? that is reflecting these perspective and offering the solution increasing the position of the relation between photography and its referent. By contrast we will analyze the text called Photojournalism is dead, long live photojournalism. Why digitization can increase the credibility of journalistic photography? which considers this perspective as obsolete and offers us the new perspective of the relation between photography and its viewers, that could increase the credibility of photography in photojournalism. To discover the possibilities of children s experience with the language of Art from the very pre-school age and the purposeful application of the new educational methods also through the alternative (electro-digital) medium. To present the possibilities of Art activities in kindergarten through different Art media, especially digital photography, and above all to show a scale of those approachable instruments which could be accesible within the natural life in a pre-school collective, including electronic media. To create and implement a new Art project, based on the particular Art activities focused on work with digital photograhy. To implement personal intentions and opinion into the specific programs. Myself Picture's Design in the Virtual Reality

Diploma work Self-portrait's construction within virtual reality works on theoretical base on the topic of man's digital photography displaced at the profile's web sites of internet social networks. The text evolves ontological concepts of the virtual reality and the rhizomatic antistructure in order to point out to the contemporary problem of the "new" media thinking transformation as well as the changing of visual perception of the digital portrait photography coming with new media. The unsolved situation of this transformation leads to the process of web site man's digital photograhies politisation, which the recipient ascribes the role of politician agent to. The work explains the process of photography politisation as a specific kind of co-acting of two types of visuality, that bring a new discussion and a new menace connected with digital photography online exposing to the society. The text's support in psychoanalysis and social constructivist way of thinking allows present the explorational theme as the interdisciplinary problem with the roots much further than there, where is discussed the question of safe online data sharing.
Photography as a medium of instant communication

This thesis follows changes in basic functions of photography in the history, as well as in actual days. Theoretical part covers development of photography in way of forming its communication function and focuses on changes causing partial turnover in main usage of photography. The work as well refers about problematic of influencing access and distribution of pictures with Web 2.0 conception and social networks boom. It analyzes current development of brand new photography functions, such as self-presentation and communication. The second part of the thesis covers current usage and consuming photography in the field of amateur photographs. As part of the research a survey was published questioning this theme together with photography on the social networks, such as Facebook and Flickr. Its results analysis takes place in the second part as well. Its purpose is revealing the concrete changes currently influencing the consumption of photography.
Image, photography as a concept in elementary school education

Annotation: Macháčková, Z.: Image, photography as a concept in elementary school education [Diploma thesis] Brno 2012 - Charles University in Prague, Faculty of education, Department of Art, 114 p. Objectives: Based on both recommended and other literature, discuss the evolution of photography (analogue and digital photography, photographic types and genres) and hint at the specifics of photographic production in comparison with classical art media. Discuss the expressive possibilities of manipulated photography (PC photography editing, collage, photomontage, etc.), with attention to applicability of photography in elementary school education. Consider organic inter-discplinary relations between the art class and other classes. Design a didactic project for an art class, based on the Framework Education Programme for Basic Education. The project should employ digital photography as a specific and accessible art medium and should be practically validated. It should focus on experiments and etudes, in which students would use photography as an accessible tool to experience and create art. Results: The proposed project, based on digital photography as a device for art activities, has shown that photography can be practically and successfully applied in elementary school classwork. Tag phenomenon on Flickr.com and its impact on interpretion extension of photography

I Abstract The first chapter of the thesis is devoted to the Flickr.com website and its evolution from its foundation until the present and to the posibility of its usage as a news source. The second chapter further explores the concept of folksonomy itself, it presents its definition, the basic approaches to its typology and singly it disserts on tag, on its forms and functions on the Flickr.com website. In the third chapter we will elaborate on the status of photography in its digital form, on its unstability and predisposition to be subject to language. The forth chapter puts forward the characteristics of text in the sphere of Internet, that of its nonlinearity, and it goes on about titles, captions and text as such in relation to photography. The fifth chapter then details the ability of tags to influence the perception of photography in the cyberspace and it addresses another phenomenon, that of the notes. The sixth and the last chapter presents the results of the "Flickrdream" research, whose objective was to find out to what degree are the tags in relation with photos on Flickr capable to comply with representation of such a complex phenomenon as a dream.
The Self-myth: Profile Picture of Youth

This thesis, The Self-myth: Profile Picture of Youth, show how adolescents use technologies for visual on-line self-presentation. Firstly, we describe the context of social media, the social network site Facebook and the concept of digital youth. In the next part we study construction of the profile picture and the important role of digital tools in the on-line lives of teenagers. The last part is the theory of semiotics and readers can see how youth create own self-myth.
