Eliášová, Aneta ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (advisor) ; Kaizrová, Irena (referee)
Title: The case study of a physioterapeutic treatment of a patient with a diagnosis total hip replacement. Objectives: The aim of this study is to summarize theoretical and practical knowledge of total hip replacement and to process the case study of a patient with this diagnosis. Methods: This thesis is divided into two main parts - a general one and a special one. The general part includes topics associated with a total hip replacement. It describes the structure of the hip joint, coxarthrosis, which was the indication for the surgery, different types of hip implants and the rehabilitation process. The special part contains the case study of a patient after a total hip replacement, which describes the therapy process along with a final evaluation of the effect of therapies. Results: We managed to fulfil our short term goals. Range of motion in afflicted lower limb was increased, muscle strength was increased, shortened muscles were stretched, the muscle tone in hypertonic muscles was decreased, the treatment of soft tissues was made, walking stereotype was improved and physical fitness of a patient was increased. Keywords: hip joint, coxarthrosis, total hip replacement, physiotherapy, case study

Stress - strain analysis of total hip replacement - type Santori
Huťka, Pavel ; Fuis, Vladimír (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
Submitted Diploma thesis deals with stress-strain analysis of deformation proximal end of femur with applied total hip joint endoprosthesis (replacement) – shortcut type. To identify deformation and tensity (stress) was used computational simulation by method of final elements. Have been created two computational models TEP- type Santori and type DePuy Proxima. Geometry model Santori was created on low level model geometry through the use of X-ray photograph. Principle of geometry model type DePuy Proxima was real Femoral stem endoprosthesis which was scanned on scanner ATOS. Geometry of both these replacements were set up in program Rhinoceros 4.0 and then execute in program CatiaV5R17. Data for geometry model of femur were gained from CT chains. Material model of femur have been crated in two variants. The first one looks at structure bone tissues and the second one were created by Gruen´s zones. Femoral Stem was weighted by static equivalent resultant force acting in hip joint. Computational model of system and self solution, including depiction results, was done by ANSYS Workbench 11.0 for four model variants.
The Efficiency of Chondroitin suphate, Glucosamine and other supplements of joint nutrition to the articular and musculoskeletal system in the world literature.
Pokorná, Kateřina ; Vilikus, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Tuka, Vladimír (referee)
Title The efficiency of Chondroitin sulphate, Glucosamine and other supplements of joint nutrition to the articular and musculoskeletal system in the world literature The aim of the work The aim of thesis is to assess the efficacy of glucosamine, chondroitin sulphate, hyaluronic acid and diacerein to the structure of joints with joint disease, especially osteoarthritis, according to world literature. Methodology Bachelor thesis is conceived as review of the world literature on the topic. The main method of the work was compilation meta-analysis based on an analysis of numerous quality publications and world scientific literature focused on the topic of bachelor thesis. Electronic databases EBSCO and PubMed and Internet search engine Google Scholar were used as resources for search. Results It found several high-quality studies concerning the influence of drugs of SYSADOA group on the structure of joints. Generally, drugs of this group may have some influence not only to symptoms accompanying osteoarthritis, but also the structure of joint tissues. However, some studies refute this claim. Therefore, it is necessary perform further extensive studies. The correlation between the stage of disease of the patient and the effectiveness of the individual active substances was found. Patients with moderate...
"DASH molecues" in local and systemic pathogenetic processes of rehumatoid arthritis
Šromová, Lucie ; Šedo, Aleksi (advisor) ; Borovanský, Jan (referee) ; Prokešová, Ludmila (referee)
The biological half-life of several pro-inflammatory mediators involved in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is controlled by molecules exhibiting dipeptidyl peptidase-IV (DPP-IV)-like enzymatic activity (Dipeptidyl peptidase-IV activity and/or structure homologues- DASH). The aim of this thesis was to identify the molecular source of the DPP-IV-like enzymatic activity in the peripheral blood and synovial fluid in patients with rheumatoid arthritis as compared to control patients with osteoarthritis (OA), and to evaluate the association of DPP-IV with the disease activity. We found that the main source of the DPP-IV-like enzyme activity in the plasma and in the synovial fluid in patients with RA is the canonical DPP-IV. DPP-IV-like enzymatic activity and canonical DPP-IV were also detected on the cell surface of blood and synovial fluid mononuclear cells. Significantly lower DPP-IV-like enzymatic activity and DPP-IV expression in the synovial fluid mononuclear cells was found in RA as opposed to OA patients. In the synovial fluid of RA patients there was also a negative correlation between the concentration of the pro-inflammatory DPP-IV substrate SDF (stromal cell-derived factor-1 and the proportion of the DPP-IV+ T cells. The blood plasma DPP-IV-like enzymatic activity and...

Femoroacetabular impingement of players of table tennis
Obešlo, Marek ; Bitnar, Petr (advisor) ; Tolar, Jan (referee)
Introduction: Question of femoroacetabular impingement is very actual. This young concept brings mechanism which leads to early degenerative changes of the hip joint of young and active individuals (athletes). Objectives: To review influence of sport activity on condition of the hip joint of young athletes (players of table tennis) and to determine incidence of femoroacetabular impingement and its clinical significance. Methods: We performed ultrasound and clinical examination and questionnaire with 22 individuals from 2 training groups. Groups vary in age, height, weight, volume of sport activity and how long they do sports. We found out incidence of cam-type impingement and evaluated pain of anterior impingement test, ranges of motions of the hip joint and deep squat. Results: Cam impingement was found in 27 hip joints, 16 in older group, 11 in younger one. In older group there were 12 from 16 impingements painful during anterior impingement test, 4 from 11 in younger one. In older group there were 4 symptomatic individuals, none in younger one. Older group has lower ranges of motion of flexion and internal rotation. 4 individuals did not perform deep squat, all of them with bilateral cam-type impingement. Conclusion: Femoracetabular impingement is frequent among young athletes. It causes...

Functional recovery in patients after total elbow arthroplasty
Turková, Renáta ; Votlučková, Milena (advisor) ; Sládková, Petra (referee)
Title of bachelor thesis: Functional recovery in patients after total elbow arthroplasty Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to introduce the issue of functional recovery after total elbow arthroplasty. It consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is processed in the form of a research and can be divided into orthopaedic and rehabilitation sections. The first section provides a summary of total elbow arthroplasty from the orthopaedic point of view. It describes various types of modern implants, operation approaches, groups of indications and possible postoperative complications. The rehabilitation section focuses mainly on physical therapy itself. It describes factors that can affect postoperative progress and presents guidelines that should be followed during rehabilitation after semiconstrained and unconstrained types of implants. It also describes lifetime regime measures and recommendations for the patient. The theoretical part is compiled from the available Czech and foreign sources. The practical part is a case study of two patients with implanted semiconstrained total elbow arthroplasty. It utilizes the knowledge gained in the theoretical part into practice and answers the basic question of this thesis: whether it is possible to achieve full functional recovery in a period...
