Public space use in a part of Vítězné náměstí in Prague

The bachelor thesis is focused on observation and evaluation of the using public space. Main part of the Vítězné náměstí infront of General building and also near of Dejvická street in Prague - specifically part of the Prague called Dejvice.
The thesis examines what activities are represented in part of Vítězné náměstí. In this thesis is description of the places, where are these activities done - around Vítězné náměstí and indicate where the most frequent movement of people in this area.
The thesis focused were for the influence of these factors, the possibielities of using these spaces. These data is collection with two metods. First method what was used was picking of time and the second one by drawing in a cartogram.
Data was processeded then created into the graph. From these charts was later made the conclusion determined factors of the impact use these public spaces.

Spatial aspects and their impact on social life on Strahov campus

The main topic of this bachelor thesis deals with the issues of individuals and spatial aspects in general and uses the Strahov dormitory as an example. The text is composed of two parts, theoretical and practical. The first part is based on theoretical architectural determinism with an emphasis on interactionist theory and tries to characterize concepts related to space and spatial behavior, which may, to some extent, positively or negatively influence the behavior in general. This work also focuses on social function of buildings and the influence of the quality of space on the amount of social interaction and social life. This thesis also addresses the issues of living on university campuses - its temporary nature, sharing space with unfamiliar people and limited set of free choices. I applied the information from the theoretical part of this text on the case study of Strahov dormitory. I learned about serious lack of quality of that area, such as bad climate and operating conditions. On the other hand, I witnessed the effort made by students themselves, who are not satisfied by the conditions in which they live and try to make them better. Thanks to their initiative, new social spaces are made and the quality of the dormitory gets better.

Assessment of quality of public spaces: case study Smichov, Prague 5

This bachelor thesis aims describe and analyze the relevance and quality of public spaces in the current environment Smíchov. The studied area covers a surface on the territory of central Smíchov, bordered from the north of Vítězná street, further south down the street Vltavská, from the east bordered by the left bank of the river of embankment Vltava and from west bordered by street Drtinova, Kartouzská and Radlická street.
The thesis consists of two parts. The first part is devoted to a literature search, which contains the definition of public space and its individual categories. The second part is a description and evaluation the area in question. In the second part is the evaluation the results of the research and areas that are evaluated by means of graphs.
The bachelor thesis is based on the available theoretical materials and the results of local surveys of each public spaces.

Assessment of security of approaches to selected primary schools of Smichov and measures to its enhancement

This bachelor thesis examines the issues relating to the safe walking of children and youth to the school facilities. Specifically, this work describes four primary schools located in Prague Smíchov. The surveyed school facilities include the Kořenského elementary school, teaching elementary school Drtinova with an extended language teaching, elementary school U Santošky and elementary school Grafická. The theoretical part includes a literature search, dealing with safety and security features that help meet objectives in this area. The analytical part identifies specific problems that are eliminated in the proposal of safety measures. The thesis contains analyses of bottlenecks in the selected area. Investigations are based on own surveys carried out directly in the field. The aim of the work is to draft safety measures that would help increase the safety of children walking to school in the surveyed area. In future, the thesis can serve as a basis for the study on transport or assist in the drafting of transport solution for Prague 5.

The use of public areas by children in the Děčín city and its hinterland

The target of my bachelor thesis is to find out, how children spend their leisure time in Děčín, what places they use, and also in which places the children feel well and which ones are dangerous for them.
The review part of the thesis, which is compiled on the basis of literature, is divided into three parts. The first section briefly describes the public space, its criteria for ownership, development of public spaces and the current status. The second part then explains the concept of leisure time, how the children spend it,what impact parents may have on leisure activities for their children, and how important is time that children spend in public space. The last part of the research, a brief description of Decin, its demographic and administrative breakdown.
The analytical part describes the creation of questionnaires, which were then used for the survey in selected primary schools and their evaluation. Furthermore, a brief description of the identified locations where children spend their spare time and use the premises for their activities, and in which they do not feel good. These locations are shown schematically on the map.
Consequently, these places that children described as unpleasant and dangerous are compared to classified sites in the planning documents.

Revitalisation of the landscape part of Prague 4 along the Brunelova street

This thesis deals with the revitalization of public green spaces in the City of Prague Libuš. The aim was to propose appropriate solutions with regard to the close communications, a private school and a rehabilitation center and create a safe and recreational space that would improve living conditions for the inhabitants of the large housing estate settlement in Libuš. It was necessary to analyze the region in terms of natural conditions, broader relations and infrastructure before the proposal. The analysis of the current state was conducted, including the inventory of the trees and field survey. Furthermore, based on the questionnaire survey conducted, the locals, students and teachers from the private school nearby expressed their views on the given territory. It has been found, thanks to the method Time-Lapse Photography Study, which parts of the territory people frequently move in and that was also reflected in the design of the area. The evaluation of the main tendencies of current and future development of the territory and the mutual comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of the area with the potential opportunities and threats are made in the SWOT analysis. A proposal, that would increase the interest of the locals in the area, was created on the basis of the results of analyzes conducted. Since it is a very rundown area, there must be a significant reduction in the number of seeding trees, removing stumps and building rubble. The functionality of insulating greenery and the natural character of the area must be maintained simultaneously. There will be an overall increase in the attractiveness and safety of the territory thanks to the revitalization of greenery, building of road networks, the placement of furniture and other technical elements. The area would not deserve only to shorten the route, but it might be used for short-term recreation by the visitors.

Study of Pujmanové street at Pankrác II housing estate

My bachelor degree is focused on elaboration of territorial study for a public space of one part of street "Pujmanove". The theoretical part of my work specializes in the issue of a public space from the point of view of the ecosystem-established measures in a change of climate, hierarchy of a public space and related differences in their role, human senses and analysis of relevant public space. The territorial study was based upon the theoretical and analytical part. Drafted territorial study of the solved area is complementing - from the perspective of the traffic - interior communication in the housing estate Děkanka, supports values of the area and the draft of the parking route

Řeka v městské krajině

The thesis examines the role of the rivers in urban landscape. The author divides the paper into two parts. The first part focuses on the relationship between the human society and the river, the importance of water for humans and the historical development of the relationship between human settlements and rivers. The author further analyses specific examples of the contemporary urban riverbanks both worldwide and in the Czech Republic. The second part of the paper presents the author's own conception of the city rivers revitalisation, namely the Balinka and the Oslava rivers in the city of Velké Meziříčí. Applying the conclusions of the first part of this paper to the analysis of the model area, the author developes a study revitalizing the above mentioned local urban riverbanks.

Podstata a role digitálního 3D modelu v architektonické studii náměstí v Lomnici u Tišnova

The objective of this bachelor thesis is to conduct a landscape architectural study of Palackého Square in Lomnice u Tišnova. The study use the method of data concentration from literature and a field survey, analyzing the data and proposing the final solution of the model area. The thesis deals with the problem of modeling and visualization in garden and landscape design. On this basis, the use of the Lumion 3D visualization program is being verified. The thesis includes a description of the program, its utilization and a demonstration of possible outcomes.
