Video Confrontation as a Therapy Technique in the Treatment of Eating Disorders

For the method a questionnaire was chosen which includes semantic differentials and separate sentences. The respondents were selected based on availability. The 26 respondents included in this research were all women diagnosed with anorexia nervosa or bulimia nervosa. All were hospitalized in an eating disorder unit. The outcome of the study confirmed that video confrontation resulted in the patients describing the picture of their own body less ungainly and they were less ashamed about their own body. Orthopedagogic Music Therapy

In this work I'm describing the genesis of music therapy, the types and forms. The work is focused on orthopedagogic music therapy. You can find information how to access to clients with disabilities and techniques and games for use in orthopedagogic music therapy practically. Most knowledge comes from my own experience, all the techniques I have already applied in use. I was underpinned by the professional literature. The aim is to present a comprehensive view of orthopedagogic music therapy focused on the use of that knowledge and methods of work with handicapped clients.
Physical activities and their impact on health and development of fine and gross motor skills of children with disabilities

Anotace: Bakalářská práce je rozdělena do dvou částí - části teoretické a části praktické. Teoretická část je rozdělena do tří kapitol. V první kapitole se zabývám klasifikací postižení s vymezením pojmu dětské mozkové obrny. Ve druhé kapitole popisuji metody a terapie u dětí s postižením se zaměřením na Vojtovu metodu, fyzioterapii a animoterapii. V kapitole třetí jsou zastoupeny pohybové terapie a aktivity u dětí s postižením. V této části přibližuji rozvoj psychomotoriky. Čtvrtá kapitola je zaměřena na popis praktických postupů žáků speciální školy, popisuji metody rozvoje hybnosti. Ve srovnávacích tabulkách jsou uvedeny výsledky aktivního pozorování a jednotlivé aktivity jsou srovnány v grafu.
Use of orofacial stimulation in occupational therapy

This bachelor thesis aims to design examination and therapy the occupational therapist in the orofacial area of selected adults with a neurological diagnosis. The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The theoretical part deals with the anatomy of the orofacial area and related etiology. It outlines the main problems which in this area may occur. Specifically, salivation and swallowing disorders, muscular disorders and communication problems. It also describes the possibility of examination which the occupational therapist has. Finally, this part deals with methods of intervention. The practical part contains the methodology. It contains my proposal for examination and therapy. Examination, which I proposed, is covering various areas of orofacial complex and consists of five parts. Using this examination, we can define the problem with isolated oral movements, identify changes of organ, assess the degree of salivation, swallowing and speech process. The therapeutic unit is composed of the surface and point massage according to the concept of basal stimulation and of exercises for the lips, cheeks and tongue. Gait disorders in Patients with Parkinson's disease

This bachelor thesis deals with problems of the Parkinson's disease (PD). It is an incurable neurodegenerative disorder which is caused by degeneration of pigment cells producing dopamine in the substantia nigra. The lack of dopamine impairs regulating activities of the basal ganglia. That leads to manifestation of the typical symptoms of PD. Knowledge survey briefly describes symptoms, diagnostics and treatment for this disease. This paper focuses on neurolocomotor process, movement control and especially gait disorders which occurs in patients with Parkinson's disease. Problems with walking develops subsequently, progressively limiting patients in their daily activities. Because current medications providing little relieve, physiotherapy plays an important role in ameliorating these symptoms. This thesis describes various physiotherapeutic approaches. It emphasizes necessity of regular exercising which is absolutely essential to slow the progression of the disease and its debilitating effects. Practical part of this work focuses on the efficacy of the therapy on one patient. This man has the typical PD symptoms and freezing and hesitation often happens to him. Postpoliomyelitis syndrome - etiology and RHB treatment options

The bachelor thesis called "Postpoliomyelitis syndrome - etiology and RHB treatment options" deals with issues of this illness, officially recognized as a separate diagnosis until less than thirty years ago. The postpoliomyelitis syndrome can develop in individuals who have experienced poliomyelitis, an infectious viral disease affecting cells of the spinal anterior horns, in their childhood or youth. The main symptoms of this syndrome are: muscle weakness, increased fatigue, muscle and joint pain. They usually appear after a period lasting at least 15 years after primary infection, during which the health state of these individuals is relatively stable. The thesis presents a wide range of pathophysiological processes responsible for the etiology of these so-called late effects of polio. It also deals with the clinical picture, diagnosis and reflects the mental condition of the affected individuals. A large part of this thesis is addressed to therapy of postpolio syndrome, especially rehabilitation, which is an important part of comprehensive care of these patients.
