Chantry chapels by burghers in Kutná Hora in pre-Hussite period Vojtěch Vaněk This study is based on the social-historical understanding of the role of chantries and of liturgical memory in medieval society, as discussed especially by Otto G. Oexle and Michael Borgolte. Chantries as permanent pious gifts connected the world of the living with the world of the dead, kept the presence of the dead among the living and, simultaneously, contributed to the salvation of their souls through mutual solidarity between the living and the dead. This study also evaluates the insights of the new cultural history, which understands the endowments as symbolic capital in a given society, capital which enabled display of social status and legitimized power through ostentatious demonstration of devotion. Under the House of Luxembourg, Kutná Hora was one of the most populous towns in Bohemia and Moravia as well as one of the biggest centers of mining and processing of silver ore in Europe. 1280's saw the origins of mining there, the first decade of the 14th century saw the city's founding. Kutná Hora was the residence of the central mint in the Czech kingdom and of the royal offices related to the mint and mining. Cultural marketing of the city of Kutná Hora in the years 2009 to 2010

This bachelor's thesis on cultural marketing of the city of Kutná Hora in the years 2009 to 2010 discusses the marketing communication of the cultural objects of the city of Kutná Hora in the defining years 2009 to 2010. The first part of this thesis describes the marketing mix of Kutná Hora as a set of cultural objects, however it is aslo dedicated to the cultural objects of the city individually. The materials for this part were particularly the promotional materials of the city and of the objects aimed on culture. The second part of this thesis is dedicated to primary research which has been conducted with the citizens of the city of Kutná Hora. The subject of the research was mainly contentment of the citizens with options of the cultural life in the city and general contentment with the cultural marketing and information. On the results of this survey is aslo based the last part of this thesis, which evaluates the knowledge acquired in first two parts and trough so called SWOT analysis comes with suggestions and recommendations for improvement of marketing communication of the city in culture and cultural objects of the city. Local political partisanship in a local government environment (town Kutná Hora)

The thesis deals with the local political party line in the environment of regional government. The work is focused on the town of Kutna Hora (Central Bohemia). The first part, the literature search, is the theoretical definition of basic concepts that deal with the local political party line in four categories according to the size of the municipalities. The most important is a definition of medium-sized municipalities, which corresponds to the currently investigated Kutna Hora. Then there is a definition of the characteristics of communal system, voting behavior and formation of municipal coalitions. The literature search is followed by the practical part, where there is the acquired theoretical knowledge applied to the local government of Kutna Hora. The focal point is based on the identification of local political participants (local organizations of political parties and other political organizations, interest groups, etc.), their electoral successes, the internal decision-making mechanisms, relationships and activities.
The essential finding is that it´s not possible to apply expressly the assertion of Katz and Maira that the number of members of local organizations of political parties is steadily decreasing in western democracies, to the local government of Kutna Hora. The number of members in particular political entities of Kutna Hora is relatively high. Mutual relations of
political entities of Kutna Hora however are based on personal sympathies and aversions. The local political system can be assessed as fully competitive, based on the principle of government and opposition.

Risk elements contamination in Kutná Hora region and possibilities of its usage in paleoenvironmental research

The dissertation focuses on topic of using risk elements contamination as a stratigraphic marker in palaeoenvironmental research. The contamination is not studied only as itself, but is viewed as a way to analyse and interpret the sedimentary record of historical events. The contamination carries the information about its original place, its original activity, about development of the landscape.
The Kutná Hora region (central Bohemia; 49°57'0.170"N, 15°15'59.877"E) is a region of important historic mining and smelting activity. The mining started in 13th century and lasted until half of 16th century. Then only sporadic attempts of renewal were made. Spatially limited mining was renewed in second half of the 20th century. Therefore, it is highly probable to find here the contaminants in the role of stratigraphic markers. In the research were used mainly As, Be, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Hg, Pb, V and Zn as these are the most analysed in contamination studies performed in the region.
The aims of the dissertation were to answer these questions:
To characterize the contamination
- Are some risk elements typical for the contamination originating from the mining and smelting?
- If so, is their environmental (spatial, sedimentary) manifestation diversified?
- Is possible diversity spatially related to particular landscape features or areas?
- Is possible diversity connected to particular activities?
To use the answers in analysis of particular sites
- Is it possible to use the risk elements contamination as stratigraphic marker in fluvial sediments?
- How is the interpretation of particular site influenced by the whole context of regional contamination?
The core of the research is the metaanalysis of contamination data coming from region (the data obtained by our research and also from other studies). The results have brought not only basic characteristics of contamination, mainly concentrations. The crucial result was the structure of studied elemental complex. Only As, Cd, Cu, Pb and Zn are connected to contamination originating in mining and smelting. Other elements - their concentrations and spatial distributions - are uninfluenced by mining and smelting activities. More, the information about connection of As and Cd to mining and Cu, Pb and Zn to smelting was revealed. Both groups recorded with different spatial distributions. Also comparison of results by different approaches has shown that some statistical processing (clr-transformation) of such dataset was much better for interpretation than analyses of only concentrations values.
We studied also the area of confluence of two rivers - Klejnárka (main river draining contaminated region), which is tributary to Labe (Elbe) river. The contamination is still recognizable here, but the diversity between contamination elements is not. The confluence of rivers strongly dilutes the contaminated material. The concentrations decrease. Also here clr-transformation of data enabled to analyse structures of contaminants spatial distribution unrecognizable by concentrations values.
We performed also two vertical profiles analyses. It was shown, that it is highly risky to interpret data of such origin without the complex information about regional contamination context. It was revealed by contextual interpretation of data from one of the profiles, that there is a mixing of geochemical data coming from different statistical populations. The contamination works there as only one of the factors influencing sedimentary record. The site is therefore suitable for statistical testing of two populations mixing, outliers` detection and the like.

The process of Setting Up the Local Government in the Municipality of Kutná Hora

This thesis deals with local politics in a specific municipality in the Czech Republic. First part of this thesis is focused on theoretical basics of this topic. This part contains summarization of definitions of basic terms and mechanisms that local politics is based on. Second part of this thesis is focused on the municipality of Kutná Hora. It contains characteristics of the municipality and application of theoretical findings to the specific municipality. The aim is to identify factors influencing function of the local government. The qualitative method of research was used in this thesis, especially half-structuralized interviews with eight local politicians.

Proposal of tree species on announcement memorable trees in the district of Kutná Hora

This thesis represents the culmination of years of work, dealing with the description, locating, inventory, photographs and mapping of protected trees in the district of Kutna Hora. Altogether, hundred and five memorial trees has been mapped and the work is completed with a proposal of six new trees that complement and thereby close the entire set of work that addresses memorial trees in the district of Kutna Hora. These documents will be forwarded to the competent authorities to ensure subsequent legislative action. The result of the thesis is a proposal of six major tree species on declaration of memorable trees which all the background data for the declaration has been prepared for by the competent authorities of these trees nature conservation. The proposed trees are four pieces and two avenues. A detailed documentation including geographic focus, according to inventory methodology Pejchal (2008), a detailed photographic documentation and localization of the proposed tree maps, has been created for each proposed memorial tree. The proposed solitary trees are 2 heart-shaped linden (Tilia cordata), oak (Quercus robur) and London Plane (Platanus x acerifolia). The first of the proposed alley consists of 39 heart-shaped linden (Tilia cordata) and the second proposed alley consists of about 390 deciduous larches (Larix decidua). A complete documentation for the initiation of administrative proceedings on their publication memorable trees has been established for all the proposed species. Proposed trees are supported by a memorable photographs and maps with precise location.

Transformation of Czech Museum of Fine Arts in Prague to Gallery of Central Bohemia Region. Cultural and economic aspects.

The main goal of this thesis is to document and economicaly and culturaly evaluate the untraditional transformation of the Czech museum of Fine Arts in Prague to Gallery of Central Bohemia Region, which nowadays has its base in the Jesuit College in Kutná Hora. The thesis also contains information about complete evolution of this institution and its collections, the restauration of the Jesuit College, whole process of moving the art collections and at last but not least the political aspects, which influenced the outcome in a major way. In the final conclusion I have written in detail all the consequences of the transformation, analysis of visitor attendance and economical facts and also the depiction of the newly transformed organization in media.

Lean Six Sigma application to solve problems occurring during brand changes in production in Philip Morris CR, a.s.

The goal of this Master's Thesis is Lean Six Sigma application to solve problems occurring during brand changes in production in Philip Morris CR, a.s. In the first part of this thesis there is described the Lean Six Sigma methodology, which draws from current world literature. Moreover the thesis describes the company Philip Morris, production of tobacco products in Kutná Hora and there is high level process description of cigarette production. In the thesis there is thorough description of process brand change, 7 measurements of this process on different types of machines, analysis of these measurements. In case there are problems identified there is the counter action to solve them designed. At the end of the thesis there is evaluation if the goals described in the introduction were achieved.

Hodnocení lokálního územního systému ekologické stability okolí Kutné Hory

My bachelor thesis deals with evaluation of the local teritorial system of ecological stability (hereinafter TSES) in Kutná Hora surroundings. As a base for field survey TSES framework from 1994 and map sources from the Land register were used. The main focus lied in determination of a current state of TSES. The elements were divided according to the type of TSES to bio-centres and bio-corridors. The results were processed into tables, maps and graphs. The work includes also description of changes in structural elements of TSES since 1994 until now. After the assessment of all the locations it can be concluded that the most of bio-centres and bio-corridors remained unchanged. Major changes lie in the change of the area of bio-centres.
