The history of information system development

The main aim of my bachelor work is mapping of four development phases of information systems from the view of application architecture. The development of information systems in companies is connected with their ambition for future expansion and global strategy of a given company. AAA AUTO a.s. is one of many examples. The company has implemented a new information system Microsoft Dynamics NAV recently. Herewith the architecture of information systems was significantly changed. My work is divided into two main chapters. In the first chapter I describe the particular phases. In the second chapter I analyse the information system of the company before and after implementation. In the conclusion I would like to sum up which global strategies the company charged and classified its information system into one of the four phases. The method I used to fulfill these objectives was the examination of specializes sources and internal company documentation.

Implementation of ERp systems into small and medium-sized companies

This work follows an issue of implementation of ERP systems into small and medium-sized companies. The main objective of the work is to compare theoretical and practical form of implementation of these systems. The work is split to the two main parts -- theoretical and practical. The theoretical part describes development of ERP systems, implementation of ERP systems into companies and specification of medium-sized and small companies. The practical part is focused on a description of an implementation of ERP systems into two companies, and then it draws conclusions from these implementations. It's also focused on a basic comparison of the systems in the companies, comparison of the theoretical and practical implementation. The practical part also contains questionnaire searching. Objective of this work is not to compare all available ERP systems from all suppliers. It reviews only these systems and implementations in these two mentioned companies and from these pieces of knowledge it draws conclusions.

Usage of the UCP Method (Use Case Point Analysis) in Estimation of Effort in SW Development

This bachelor project takes up the subject of summarizing selected methods of analyzing effort of software development. The aim of the project is to explain the calculation progress of some of the methods, while the UCP method and other methods based on the model are emphasized. The UCP method mentioned is used on a practical example and its realization facilitates the comprehension of the essence how single weights of the factors are adjusted and demonstrates the influence of every factor on the final estimate of effort of development. All of the information about the methods are based on previous thorough study of available literature and information sources. Gathered knowledge is used in the realization of the example as well.

Proposal of IT progress strategy in manufacturing company

Bachelor thesis covers with development of IT strategy of manufacturing company. It compares introducing new ERP system with actual information system. The goal is description of actual IS state and proposal of solution with respect of all requirements and restrictions of the company. The main benefit of the thesis is detached evaluation of variants of follow-up progress at company expansion and improvement strategy proposal. There is characterization of IS and ERP, possible division, the most important parts and benefits of modern solution for enterprise resource planning in theoretic part. Each one of stages of acquisition of new information system (initial demand analysis, selection methods and criteria, implementation including definition of critical factors, usual imperfections and recommended procedure) is described. Practical part is focused on analysis of actual situation. It contains brief company profile, description of departments, main processes in connection with system. Actual IS situation is described in form of SWOT analysis. On the basis of defined requirements is put together list of possible system providers from Czech Republic and their products. Improvement IT strategy proposal follows up with analysis and deals with comparison of each variant of following development, either the acquisition of new ERP or upgrading current information system. Conclusion includes appraisal and benefits of thesis as the whole.

Design a architektura IS - studie systému Omnia

Práce je pojata jako případová studie a zabývám se v ní nejen tím, jak systém vypadá, ale také jaký mám dopad a jak ovlivňuje běžnou pracovní činnost zaměstnanců ? uživatelů systému ve společnosti Allen & Overy. Cílem je a analyzovat tento IS, popsat jej z vnějšku, ale také ze vnitř a v neposlední řadě také určit a kvalifikovat vlivy jednotlivých jeho částí na fungování systému a jejich důležitost pro budoucí vývoj. K dosažení těchto cílů jsem použil různé analytické metody, jako jsou pozorování, praktickou interakci a testování. V práci se zabývám hardwarovou a softwarovou stránkou IS, jeho vývojem, podporou, údržbou a v neposlední řadě také sociální a business stránkou IS.

Technologie pro podporu přenosu videa ve vizuální komunikaci

Cílem práce je poskytnout čtenáři hlubší přehled o technologiích a standardech, které se uplatňují při šíření obrazových informací v podobě klasického TV vysílání, ale také v rámci multimediálních informačních systémů a poukázat přitom na jejich výhody a nevýhody, s přihlédnutím na aktuální trendy vývoje. Cíle je dosaženo prostřednictvím teoretických srovnání a praktických testů, ze kterých jsou vyvozeny závěry, vedoucí k subjektivním úvahám a doporučením. Vlastní obsah práce je rozčleněn do 9 kapitol, přičemž každá z nich se zabývá užší oblastí v rámci těchto technologií, má své dílčí cíle a různé metody jejich dosažení. Součástí práce je více než 40 obrázků, srovnávací tabulky, názory odborníků, rozsáhlá příloha a rovněž terminologický slovník, obsahující použité technické pojmy a zkratky. Práce je psána takovým stylem, který od čtenáře nevyžaduje pokročilou předchozí znalost žádných, zde popisovaných, technologií.

Analýza a hodnocení systému řízení toků informací ve firmě a jejich využití ve firemním vzdělávání

Tato práce pojednává o problematice vedení toků firemních informací v konkrétní společnosti. Zabývá se její analýzou, zkoumáním a hledáním možných řešení nalezených problémů, která by mohla pomoci firmě zlepšit si své postavení na trhu v dnešním konkurenčním prostředí. V první části práce jsou definovány základní termíny, jako informace, informační systém a jeho typy, systémová analýza a firemní vzdělávání. Druhá praktická část obsahuje popis společnosti, dále analýzu a hodnocení současného stavu z hlediska nakládání s firemními informacemi a jejich využití pro vzdělávání zaměstnanců, a následná doporučení a návrhy efektivnějšího řešení dosavadní situace.

Educational Intelligence

Obsahem bakalářské práce je charakteristika pojmu Business Intelligence a zejména pak specifického oboru Educational Intelligence. Práce je teoreticky zaměřená, čili se nevěnuje konkrétnímu postupu nasazování EI v praxi (na VŠE). V práci jsou rozebrány přínosy, které implementace Educational Intelligence přináší současně s charakteristikou krizových stavů, které nasazení EI řeší či optimalizuje. V práci je podrobně rozebrána koncepce GIF a důvody jejího vzniku [Inmon, 2005]. Tato metodika poskytuje komplexní pohled na řešení integrace rozsáhlých systémových jednotek v rámci veřejného sektoru, které jsou na sobě vzájemně nezávislé. V závěru práce jsou potom charakterizovány projekty úspěšných implementací EI řešení zejména na školách v USA. Práce navazuje na práci Ing. Lukáše Hrnčíře [HRN, 2006] a práci Ing. Jaromíra Petra [PETR, 2005].
