Hrabáková, Alexandra ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Jirák, Jan (referee)
My thesis is focused on construction of gender roles in Czech TV shows of the year 2012. First part of the thesis consists of theoretical background, where the principle of feminine and masculine roles, which are constructed by media too, is presented. The thematic foreign and domestic studies, which are introduced there, show how the experts look at this issue. Other chapters are formed by this view and present the most frequented image of women and men on TV or the media principles. Last sections of the theoretical frame are about consumers' everyday habits of watching TV and about impact, which this programmes could have. Second part of this thesis has metodological character. The objective to decode which gender roles are formed by selected programmes Sama doma, Top Star Magazín, menZONE or Těžká dřina and which signs participate on this constructions are described in this part. The research method is semiotic analysis with description of the narrative, thanks to which the hidden myth is revealed more precisely. The quantitative content analysis is also used in analytic part, however, only in a prototypical form. This probe refers to the other possibilities of further extensions of this thesis. All the results demonstrate that the programmes of current domestic production construct women and...

Čechová, Helena ; Smetáčková, Irena (advisor) ; Presslerová, Pavla (referee)
in English This thesis deals with the conception of classmate's roles from the perspective of adolescent girls and boys. Thesis is divided into two parts - theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part introduces the subject in terms of developmental and social psychology and gender studies. In the first half of theoretical part I follow up the social aspects of the classmate's role and conceive it within the class and peer group. Certain space is also devoted to establishing the relationships between girls and boys. The second half of theoretical section reflects adolescence as a specific developmental period, in which I focus on occurring biological, mental and social changes. Whole theory is penetrated by gender perspective focussing on comparison of girl or boy adolescence. Introducing the process of gender roles creation and the significance of femininity and masculinity completes the theoretical part. The empirical part includes research of role concept within the 9th class of primary school. Presenting average images of pupils about the ideal classmate (girl and boy) I highlight the gender aspects of mentioned role. While interpreting the analysis outcomes and considering itself gender membership of responding pupils I point out the role differences as well. The goal is to show whether...
A child in a preschool age and its managing roles of the life.
SCHÖNBEKOVÁ, Iva
In my bachelor thesis, I focus my attention on life roles of pre-school children, and on how their human needs are fulfilled. The thesis consists of two parts: a theoretical and a practical one. In the theoretical part, I try to describe the life roles of children in our contemporary modern society. I deal with the problems of family and other socializing factors that are important in creating the personality of a child. The outcomes from the theoretical part are used in the practical one. By means of a long term observation and a dialog I try to describe the process, how the fulfillment of the human needs (or its lack) influences the behavior of the children.
The social role of woman in the 21st century from the perspective of men
PROKŮPKOVÁ, Jana
This thesis deals in it?s theoretical part with the changing of social role of women in the course of human existence and history of the feminist movement. It observes the differences between men and women from three perspectives: biological, psychological, sociological, and on their basis reveals their properties for which individuals choose the preference of life partner. Thesis also focuses on the labor market situation in terms of gender. In the practical part, based on interviews with 10 men and 10 women, I evaluate the views at how men see the role of women in society and also as well how women themselves see their role. At first I found out how the household in which the respondents grew up in work in the division of daily tasks, how they want their own households to work (or as they works) and then I compared the results. Then I focused on qualities and skills which are in interviews attributed to women and men, what´s the position of women in the labor market in their opinion or why the number of divorces is constantly increasing and why the age for starting a family is increasing as well. The work affects not only the view of men of women's social mission, but also the view of women themselves in the light of expectations that men (and society) have towards to women.
The class climate of the first-year of secondary schools depending on the adaptation course
PYTLÍKOVÁ, Anna
The work deals with the comparison of classes that have taken part in an adaptation course to those that have not. The theoretical part describes a class as a small social group and refers to its structure. It also deals with group dynamics and explains developmental stages of a small social group. Further, the theoretical part of the thesis focuses on class climate, environment and atmosphere. It describes the adaptation course and defines its aims as well. The practical part of the thesis contains a description and an analysis of questionnaires that were assigned to the first year classes of the four-year grammar schools in the early days of the school year 2011/2012 and in the beginning of November the same year. Based on the analysis of questionnaires, this part also deals with identifying differences among these classes. It points out that the differences among these classes are small but, nevertheless, the adaptation courses are of benefit to the whole class.
Conflict of roles of a mother and a student in female students of ZSF JU
KYSELÁKOVÁ, Lenka
This thesis is focused on women who have the social role of a mother together with the role of a student. The content of this thesis consists of four main areas, namely: social roles, conflict, family and education. The aim is to survey the subjective perception of the conflict of roles of a mother and a student in the female students of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. To carry out the survey I chose a target file consisting of 10 combined-form third-year students of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies of the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, who are also mothers. I focused on the intrapsychical experience of women in the given conflict and psychological and psychosomatic consequences which might be caused by the conflict. In the thesis I set up three research questions and using the qualitative research I have tried to find the answers. The method used in the qualitative research is interrogation and the technique is the semi-structured interview. At the interview the information was obtained in the face-to-face interaction. As a feedback to the questions I got verbal and nonverbal responses. The results of the research questions: The first research question is: "Is study a voluntary decision of a mother or is it the need required by the job?" The outcome is that in 7 out of 10 respondents this is a voluntary decision, which is most commonly associated with a professional development and the need for self-realization. In 1 respondent this is an employment-related necessity what makes her study, she is motivated to maintain her present job and work post. In 1 respondent studying is a voluntary decision also connected with the necessity associated with her employment. The second research question is: "What specific restrictions do female students perceive as a result of their parallel roles of mothers and students?" The outcomes show that 8 out of 10 respondents feel stressed as a result of a lack of the time devoted to family, which is caused by their studies. They are forced to shift their responsibilities to other caregivers. 1 respondent feels stressed because she is not able to do everything at 100 per cent. 1 respondent stated that she did not feel any restrictions. The third research question is: "How is the conflict of the both roles expressed in subjective psychosocial and psychosomatic aspects?" The result is that in all 10 respondents psychosocial problems are present. 9 out of 10 respondents stated psychosomatic disturbances. These results inform about possible psychosocial and psychosomatic consequences caused by the conflict between the roles of a mother and a student. Individual approach to these women could mitigate the problem. In my thesis I have described a social issue and based on the obtained outcomes I have drawn the hypothesis that the role of a mother and a student causes an intrapsychical conflict to women.
Man´s Position In Family Planning
CÁPOVÁ, Adéla
The participation of men in family planning appears to be a suitable tool for the improvement of relationships between couples and their children. This thesis studies the attitudes of men towards family planning questions. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into three main chapters: Family planning, The Male Indentity and the Social Roles of Men. The research methods which were chosen were based upon the collection of data. Twenty semi-structured interviews with early adult men were processed by means of grounded theory. Interview questions involved the definition of family planning and seven categories were created upon that basis: the association of the concept of family planning, images of family, attitudes towards the meaning of children in life, male attitudes regarding men{\crq}s role in child care, paternity leave, contraception as well as solutions regarding fertility disorders. The chosen methodology should assess the important social influences that play a role in the attitudes of men towards family planning and the roles of men in family planning. The setting of the conditions for the beginning of reproduction should be the result of negotiation within the couple. In spite of the willingness to change parenting roles, negotiation still leads to a traditional division of these parenting roles, where the woman is a care-giver and the man is the breadwinner. Gender sensitive upbringing is a good way to give support towards the responsibility within the family planning of men and women; it leads them in equal negotiation regarding questions of parenting. The results of this thesis is the creation of a new theory about the role of men in family planning and interested researchers are to be encouraged to verify its validity by continuing in this area of research.
