Pavlíková, Barbora ; Zezulková, Markéta (advisor) ; Rosenfeldová, Jana (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to explore what adolescents think about displaying the human body in different kinds of media. The theoretical part of this thesis is focused on describing the evolution of visual media with the emphasis on expanding opportunities of selecting and forming visuals when using modern technologies. We have also mentioned the effect of showing beauty and ugliness of human body in media on the perception of other people and the self-perception. In the empirical part of this work we have described the methodology of qualitative form of approach of our research, respectively collecting data using focus groups method. Special focus has been given to work with adolescent participants. We have also analysed the results of the research, which was made with elementary school pupils at the age of 13 or 14 years. The research was focused on the conception of beauty and ugliness of human body in medial presentations. Adolescent participants rated these visuals not only for their visual aspects, but they were also asked to assign some characteristics to the displayed persons and find the topics, which could be presented by this person to others. It was discovered that adolescents perceive the female beauty more stereotypically than the male amenity. They also emphasised decentness and...

BEČKA, Tomáš
Sport is a relatively common topic in the Czech literature. The authors often focus on team sports like football or ice hockey or on the individual competitions, for example, gymnastics. Through sport various stories that include different ideas can be produced. This diploma thesis lay stress on the documentation of the transformation of sport´s image in the 30´s, 40´s and 50´s of the 20th century. The thesis also concentrates on the clarification of the term sport, different outlooks on sport because this topic is also connected with the cult of the human body. The chosen literary works research the image of sport and the ways of the interpretations. Furthermore, the thesis concerns oneself with the film, the representation of the sport and its narrative patterns in it.
Lower-secondary students' drawings as a tool for finding their knowledge about human body constitution
ČURDOVÁ, Hana
Presented bachelor thesis evaluates drawings of primary school pupils in relation to determine their knowledge about human body from biological point of view. There were involved 120 pupils in this research. Sixty of them were from the 6th grade and the other 60 pupils were from the 8th grade. Students were supposed to draw and describe internal structures of human body, which they considered as importnant, on printed silhouette of human body in the given paper. They were also asked to link those organs into functional organ systems. After that, they arbitrarily chose two of those systems, which they were supposed to describe more in detail and draw them again into two additional silhouettes. The evaluation was made on the basis of previously established criteria, which were based on the evaluation of drawings in Reiss and Tunnicliffe (2001) research. There were also watched chosen misconceptions about human body structure in created drawings. In evaluating the number of drawn internal structures in the first summary drawing, the pupils of the 6th grade achieved mostly the level involving 8 - 9 drawn internal structures, while the majority of the pupils of the 8th grade reached the lower level, involving only 6 - 7 drawn internal structures. Of all the drawn internal structures which were drawn by both grades, the most frequent were brain and heart. In terms of misplaced internal structures the 6th grade pupils had more wrongly drawn structures of human body than the 8th grade pupils. In assessment of functional connection of organs into individual organ systems was found that almost none of the pupils were able to connect the organs into complete organ systems. In the second part of testing, most of the 6th grade pupils chose respiratory and digestive systems, and the 8th grade pupils chose respiratory and nerve systems.
Social Body : the post internet feminist art in the context of Xenofeminism Manifesto and Michael Foucault’s “History of Sexuality”
Jarosz, Anna ; JANOŠČÍK, Václav (advisor) ; Stejskalová, Tereza (referee)
I would like to start my analysis with the historical specificity of the body, particularly the body as a direct target and formed by historically variable regimes. I want to try to look at the problem of how to conceive of the body without reducing its materiality to a fixed biological essence. Which is, in my opinion, strongly connected to the issue of social control through bodies, sexuality and gender, pointed out in the Xenofeminism Manifesto, which is one of the main sources for my thesis paper.
Ani tady, ani tam
Sculptural inspiration on subject of body in performative practice
Silich, Sviatlana ; BAŽANT, Jan (advisor) ; SMOLÍK, Robert (referee)
The main body of my graduate thesis is based on reflection and mapping of The Figs project preparation and realization. The project itself is centered around the topics of bodily perception and bodily fears, and encompasses other works related to these topics. My graduate thesis includes some insights on my collaboration with the students from the sculpture studio and the handling of various materials. It contains the mentions and analysis of individual artists’ artistic works, executed in time-based technique. I’m primarily interested in how the created objects will be consecutively involved in the performance and the ways these objects might later influence the course of the performance. A separate chapter is dedicated to the choice of the material, and includes the use of eggs as a material. I reflect upon my personal experience as an author and a performance artist. Towards the end you will find my research of the artistic process in all its phases. I analyze particular scenes and assess the final choice of the components.
The Relationship between Human Body and Technology in Dramatic Space
Jan Märcová, Sára ; ADÁMEK, Jiří (advisor) ; MAZÚCH, Branislav (referee)
This diploma thesis is an attempt to reflect the use of current digital technologies in the scenic space and their influence on the work of actors. It tries to shortly describe the development and principles of neo-media works, as well as the form of Live Cinema, mainly in the theatrical context. It examines the position of real, living objects/subjects, in contrast to immaterial and virtual images that are made up of light or sound. The possibilities of mutual influence of technologies and bodies are described on selected performances in the Czech theater context. How does technology change the actor's work? Does it affect the basic theatrical relationship between the body of the actor and the spectator's body? Are the mediative forms of theater destructing its "liveness"? How does viewer perception transforms? These and similar questions are crucial to this thesis.
Health myths Promoted by Online Media
Jeníková, Anna ; Vochocová, Lenka (advisor) ; Zezulková, Markéta (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with current media myths about health and the human body. Dissemination of myths among the general public has been facilitated by the emergence of new media that allow a multi-layered debate across social groups. Online content offers a quick source and a wide range of answers or inspiration on health and human body issues, usually without the need to indicate where the information comes from. I will focus on the discussion about detoxification of the human body in life-style online media for women. Contemporary discussions on this topic show that easy access to information has prompted a wave of so-called "self-healing" described as a situation in which people consult their health problems primarily with online content, and then, if at all, with their GP or with another expert. Although some myths have been scientifically refuted, they still have their "proponents" who can represent legitimate knowledge. The very word "myth" or "half-truth" or "superstition" is discursively specific, burdened and represents an ideology. In many health and human body issues, there are many arguments of both parties (both mainstream and alternative medicine). I will observe this extreme polarization in the diploma thesis that is neither a defense of expert votes nor "experts by...

Art expression as a means of determining the knowledge of selected subject in pupils of primary school
KAVKOVÁ, Šárka
This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of knowledge and ideas of pupils how they understand human organ systems. Knowledge is verified based on spontaneous production of children's drawings using a thematic didactic test. The thesis uses cross-sectional research involving a total of 118 pupils from the first to the fifth class of the primary school. For the research project, pupils were given a blank piece A4 sized paper and were asked to draw the organ systems in their body. Research tables have been created from a set of drawings and common characters. The results of the research show level of understanding of human organ systems in individual classes.
