The diploma theses is focused on cycling infrastructure in Brno. The opening part deals with theoretical level of cycling infrastructure, its approaches to creating and analysis. Constituent part deals with strategic documents related to cycling issues. Practical part describes creating geodatabase of cycling infrastructure in Brno. Its results compare to strategic document 'Strategie pro Brno' and 'Aktualizace strategické vize Strategie rozvoje Jihomoravského kraje 2020'. Tools of geographic information systems are used for the comparison.

Keeping linear objects of cycling infrastructure in topographical databases and digital cartography.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is creating of a new methodology of keeping linear objects of cycling infrastructure in the ZABAGED® database. The methodology determines the way of keeping data in the database including attributes, attributes' description and the way of their assignment to appropriate lines. Objects of interest are marked cycling routes and special types of infrastructure which have been designed for cycling (e.g. bicycle trails, traffic lines reserved for cyclists or cycling corridors). Theoretical part is an overview of different types of cycling infrastructure including legislatively-bounding properties (width, marking) and an overview of the methodology of marking cycling routes. Furthermore, there is an overview of existing databases in which cycling infrastructure is already being kept and five of these are further characterised. The practical part comprises creating of a new data layer to evaluate the function of created methodology in covering real-life object's parameters. The created data layer can be found in attachment of this thesis together with its visualisation on a map. Included in the practical part there also is a description of possible problems which occurred during vectorisation and possible solutions or precautions on how to prevent them.

Pathway through "Červený mlýn" area

This bachelor thesis solves the design of the cycle path in Brno around the red mill. Specifically, the connection between the Královo pole and the city center near „Lužánky“ Park. The solution enhances the safety of non-motorized traffic by removing cyclists from second-class roads to this proposed communication. The route passes along the street „sportovní“ where it provides access to the indoor swimming pool and then passes below the intersection crossing, replacing one of the railway tracks, which are no longer in use. The trail is designed according to valid standards and technical conditions.

Brno waterfront - rehabilitation of rivers and their surrounding areas

The theme of the diploma thesis "Brno waterfront - rehabilitation of the Brno rivers and their surroundings" is creating an urban proposal in Brno, Zábrdovice, on the eastern waterfront of the Svitava river. The intention is to use the potential of the area and create the possibility of lucrative housing by river with a commercial ground floor, services, leisure time park with a multifunctional playground and easy direct access to the Svitava river. The studied location, has an area of 6.32 hectares andis defined mainly by the Zábrdovická Street and the Svitava River near the former Premonstratensian Monastery, which now serves as a Military Hospital. At present, the location has mainly low-floor industrial buildings with storage and expedition functions. The proposed buildings relate to existing buildings on the east and west banks of the Svitava River. They have the form of four to six storey blocks, which are characteristic for this area. The park connects to the revitalized eastern embankment of the river at the site of a new footbridgethat connects both rive sides and stairs. They provide space formeetings and relaxation, but also serve as a flood control in the event of a water inflow. Along the Svitava River there is a sidewalk with street alleyways and access to the river.

Performing sports on urban and suburban cycling lanes in Prague

Abstrakt/abstract Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá městskými a příměstskými cyklostezkami v Praze. Ve své části teoretické shrnuje terminologii daného okruhu, vymezuje pojem cyklostezka, cyklotrasa, cyklopruh aj. Dále specifikuje pojmy s daným tématem související (volný čas, zájmová činnost, pohybová rekreace aj.) V samostatných kapitolách se věnuje historii a současnému stavu cyklostezek, následně pak legislativním normám. Práce vymezuje také druhy pohybových aktivit, které je možné na cyklostezkách provozovat (cyklistika, chůze, in-line bruslení aj.) V praktické části seznamuje s metodami výzkumu a výsledky pozorování a dotazníkového šetření. Ve svých závěrech se snaží charakterizovat uživatele cyklostezek, zkoumá jejich motivaci, četnost návštěv cyklostezek, druhy provozovaných aktivit. Zajímá se o nároky na kvalitu a vybavení cyklostezek, shrnuje pozitiva i negativa cyklostezek v Praze. V závěru nabízí přehled městských a příměstských cyklostezek v Praze. Project of Educational cycle trail in protected landscape area in Kokořínsko

Title A Project of Educational Bicycle Trail in Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area. Objective The aim of this work is to create a project of Educational bicycle trail in Protected Landscape Area (PLA) Kokořínsko, create an information brochure, which could be distributed to tourist information centres in the region. Methods The discussion with employees of Kokořínsko PLA and collection of information on existing bicycle trails, bicycle tracks, educational trails, natural and cultural assets in the area. Classification and verification of collected data. Using the information obtained for creating an Educationl bicycle trail. Presenting a summary in an information brochure. Assessment of the project via questionaires. Results The result of this work is a proposal of two educational cycle trails with possible combinations in Kokořínsko in form of an information brochure. The brochure includes educational texts connected to the areas on the trail, photographs and maps. Proposal of cycling route Liběchov-Dubá

The aim of this thesis is a project of a cycling route between the towns Liběchov and Dubá. The area of interest is located in the Landscape Park Kokořínsko - Mácha´s Region and goes through the Central Bohemian, Liberecký and Ústecký Regions. There are two nature reserves in this area: Lower Liběchovka Wetlands
and Upper Liběchovka Wetlands. The current condition of the lands in question has been assessed and the project has been produced based on fieldwork.
The thesis brings introduction of bike touring in the Czech Republic as well as in some European countries and the principles and procedures in projecting cycling route networks. It provides an insight into the history and present of the sites along the cycling route.
The output of this thesis is a price calculation for development of the missing parts, map documents where both the existing route networks and projected sections are marked, a price calculation for the cycling route facilities and a list of owners
of the lands in question.
The cycling route project aims to attract bike tourists into the area of interest, thereby making the micro-region more attractive.

The concept of a bike trail and its impact on the environment

This diploma thesis aims to design the cycle route from the village of Nová Ves I to the town of Kolín and to describe its impact on the environment. The researching part of the thesis deals with cycling itself, its history and development. It further decribes the existing infrastructure for cycle paths and clarifies how the cycle paths should be planned properly. It also focuses on constructing of them. The researching part of the thesis next deals with the impact of the cycle trails on the environment and describes it in details.
The thesis provides a detailed characterization of the territory. The particular characteristics serve as the basis for designing the most appropriate routing of cycle paths.
The analytical part of the thesis contains several analyses which aim to help us find the best solution for designing the cycle route. All the analyses serve as a valuable basis for further decision making and designing the most convenient cycle route between the village of Nová ves I and the town of Kolín.
In the designing part of the thesis there are four variants of the cycle route between the village of Nová Ves I and the town of Kolín. Each of them is described in details and evaluated. Eventually the best strategy for the route is selected and it is clarifed and proved by doing own research and measuring with using the mobile applications.

Cyklodoprava v krajině a ve městě

The topic of this bachelor thesis is Bicycle Transportation in the Countryside and in the City. The introduction clarifies the basic terminology. From the technical perspective the thesis brings some light into planning requirements of touristic cycling paths and their basic parameters. Second part of the thesis is dedicated to analyze a larger selected area in terms of primary, secondary and tertiary structure. A model object of smaller area is delimitted and provides a base for another part developing a proposal. The last part describes a proposal of a touristic cycling path within the selected model object, specifically the area of Trnava surroundings in Slovakia. Based on discovered information and prepared plan, the task of this thesis is to estimate the potential for bicycle tourism of the model area.

Study of Conditions for the Development of Cycling in the City of Brno

Bachelor thesis deals with the cycling conditions in the city of Brno.The first theoretical part is dedicated to the advantages of theurban traffic on a bicycle, the possibilities of further development and funding. The second part of the work analyzes the current conditions of cycling transport in Brno and the society use of routes. The last part of the thesis contains a custom proposal for the implementation of cycling routes in the selected location,which could help expand the cycling route network in Brno.
