Title: Transformation of second housing in the Hradec Králové and Pardubice outskirts Author: Bc.Tereza Jedličková Department: Department of social geography and regional development Supervisor: RNDr. Dana Fialová, Ph.D. Abstract: In the Czech Republic, second housing represents an important way of spending leisure time or holidays. Since the 1990s, there has been observed a significant change in the use of second homes, especially in cottage sites in city outskirts as a part of suburbanization development. The aim of this work is to evaluate the status of second housing and these changes by example of outskirts of two czech provintial cities - Hradec Králové and Pardubice, which has not yet been given sufficient attention in previous studies. This work complements extensive researches realized by the Department of social geography and regional development, which pays a long-term attention to this subject. In order to maintain compatibility with these researches, there is used similar methodology that consists of the questionnaire survey. Emphasis is given not only on specifics of sites in outskirts of these cities and their mutual comparison, but also on their development, which reflects the historic development of the czech settlement and those cities themselves. Transport Accessibility of Second Homes: Selected Localities in the Benešov Region

This thesis deals with the differentiation of the accessiblity of second-homes facilities, primarily using means of public transport. The first part adresses the problem with the published literature. Second part deals with a case study carried out in selected localities of the Benešov region. Transport accessibility was observed at two levels - frequency and temporal. In addition to the current accessibility, the historical development since the beginning of the eighties was found out. Following the changes in public transport, the consecutive integrating of particular localities into the integrating transport system was also observed.

Transformation of Second Homes in The Kokořínsko Protected Landscape Area

The main content of this Thesis is the second home as a part of tourism and recreation - very popular form for leisure time. The aim of the Diploma Thesis is to monitor changes in the second home in a protected landscape area Kokořínsko. The comparison of the second home in Sudetenland and in the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia is emphasised. Although this district did not belong to the important areas of the second home from the very beginning, after the Second World War Kokořínsko became more developed, mainly in the terms of cottage building. The Thesis is divided into several parts. Individual parts are important for understanding the second home in this district. The Thesis deals with a brief history of the second home in Kokořínsko and characterises the Sudetenland with the whole area from the point of view of development and localization. Concerning research methods, the Thesis uses mainly a field research method, a questionnaire survey and a statistic data research. Recreation in cabins along the middle Otava and Volyňka rivers - territorial structure, development problems and their solutions

This bachelor thesis focuses on development issues related to the cabin recreation in the area along the middle Otava and Volyňka rivers. The author deals with the literature regarding the recreation in the cabins and generally in the so-called weekend houses. The aim is to describe the potential problems and possibly effective solutions. The other part of this thesis consists of findings during the survey in the cabin settlement. The survey was based on questioning the cabin-dwellers and local officials on what they are usually confronted with and afterwards detailed surrounding research was implemented. As a result of processing the outcomes some vital solutions were suggested.

Second homes in Lužnice river area as the first stage for amenity migration

The presented diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of the second homes in the area around the middle stream of the river Luznice. The trend of second homes is closely connected mainly to rural tourism. Currently the number of people living in the countryside is decreasing, this leads to increasing depopulation of the countryside. Development of rural tourism and second homes, which can be described as a precursor of amenity migration can alleviate the depopulation of the Czech countryside. Those two terms: second homes and amenity migration are very frequently overlapped in our conditions so it is difficult to determine the clear border between them. The second housing represents the way of spending the free time and so it can by stated as a complex phenomena and processes connected to a recreational object, most frequently represented by a cabin or a weekend house. Some users of second homes may decide to move into their second houses permanently. In this case we call this the amenity migration. This type of migration is the movement of people from an urban area in to rural areas. The amenity migration can be understood as a migration for better environment, peace, the desire to be closer to nature and the desire for a better quality of life in general.

European real estate market of holiday homes

The master thesis examines the real estate market of holiday homes (also called second homes) in France and in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to compare the both markets on the basis of analyses and comparison of acquired information. The thesis focuses on the aspects which directly influence the market, the supply and the price of holiday homes. The thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter presents the actual situation of research on the subject, the methodology and the structure of this thesis. The second chapter defines term holiday home and the typology of holiday homes. The third chapter separately analyses and then compares the Czech and French real estate market of holiday homes in terms of its size, typology of owners, taxation and charges of the holiday home. The fourth chapter focuses on sale of the holiday home and the factors which influence the value and the price of house. The last chapter examines types of the holiday homes, their supply and their price in two particular markets, Limousin and the Plzeň Region. The conclusion of the thesis is the recognition that the markets of both surveyed countries could have the potential for the development.

Second housing and underground ekonomy in comunist Czechoslovakia

The final thesis covers a situation of a second housing in Czech Republic. It analyzes an origin and a development of this phenomenon during 20th century. Thesis is focused on the second half of 20th century especially, emphasizes the variety of motivations for having the hobby of second housing and also discusses the issues with constructions or reconstructions of cottages and chalets. Particularly, insufficiencies of building materials and lack of craft services that are closely related to underground economy, which is also discussed here.

This thesis is focused on the design of the second housing interior for a family. The introduction summarizes the specifics of recreation in the objects of second homes, historical background and psychological aspects of this phenomenon. Historical continuity of folk architecture and furniture design is also included. The actual interior is designed with regard to the space and requirements specified by the owners. Atypical furniture element is designed for the specified space and function, technical drawings and material costs are included.

Bachelor thesis deals with recreation in a cabins around Kamýk and Slapy dams. First characterizes the studied area, then place mapping cottage settlements in the field and typing. Carried out interviews with the actors in the cabins - cottage owners, workers building authorities and municipal authorities. The main aim of this thesis is the analysis of development problems associated with recreational gardening. Specifically, this includes such problems as: the provision of technical and transport infrastructure, cottage owners coexistence between each other and with the original inhabitants, environmental and landscape problems etc.

Human migration from the towns to rural areas (case study of migration in the area of Dražice near Tábor).

The bachelor thesis deals with the migration of urban populations to rural areas Dražice near Tábor. Amenity migration is a new form of specific global population migration. The prevailing direction of movement from the city to the countryside. The forms of migration were defined according to individual motivation as a migration for a better environment. This type of migration is motivated by the effort to live in a generally more better socio - cultural environment. The aim of this thesis is to find forms of "migration" into Dražice near Tabor and identification of the main reasons for this migration and determine if respondents' expectations were met. This aim has been specified through a questionnaire people and then evaluating these questionnaires.
