Is Slovakia making headway towards constituting an OCA with the EMU?

The goal of this diploma thesis is to assess the suitability and readiness of the Slovak Republic to adopt a single European currency. In analyzing the costs and benefits relating to Slovakia?s accession to the EMU, this thesis is guided by the theory of the OCA. The thesis provides a survey of the OCA theory, attempts to measure some of the OCA indicators and calculate OCA index for Slovakia. The results suggest that Slovakia fulfils the necessary condition for joining the monetary union, i.e. it is relatively well aligned with the euro area. The diploma thesis concludes that Slovakia is relatively suitable and well-prepared to join the euro area in 2009.
The Comparison of the Process of Integration of Czech and Slovak republic to European Structures

From Slovak crown to euro

This bachelor thesis focuses on Slovak republic joining the European economic and monetary union and on the process of the adoption of the common currency, the Euro in Slovakia. First chapter concerns with the historic development of the economic and monetary union and important steps leading to its creation. Second chapter deals with Maastricht convergent criteria and their fulfilling by Slovak republic. The last chapter focuses on advantages and disadvantages of accepting the common currency and on its possible impacts on Slovak economy. The end of this chapter deals with feelings of Slovak population of adoption of the Euro in Slovakia.
Systematic view on the economic diplomacy - Slovak Republic

With the evolution of contemporary international environment within globalisation and with the liberalisation of international trade the economic dimension of diplomacy intesifies. In order to react to the evolvement od economic priproties in international relations the economic diplomacy tends to come forth. The thesis is concerned with the system of economic diplomacy in the Slovak Republic. For the objective reasons the economic priorities play an important role in Slovak foreign policy. Moreover their significance is futher growing considering the current situation in the world economy. The thesis primarily aims at the institutional aspects of the Slovak economic diplomacy with the emphasis on the characteristics of invidual actors and their position within the system. The final part of the thesis is focused on the current issues of the Slovak economic diplomacy and its further opportunities are considered.
The Slovak republic in the globalization processes

This thesis describes economic globalization processes, explains the main terms and finally depicts the Slovak republic in the process of globalization. There are interpreted effects and impacts of globalization on the economy of Slovakia and there is also characterized the involvement of the Slovak republic in the multinational matters and global economy. The thesis shows economic developement of Slovakia based on major macroeconomic indicators. The extend of the involvemenet of Slovakia in the multinational matters is expresed by the developement of international trade, capital flows, transnational corporations, migration of labour and consequently the economy of the Slovak republic is compared to the developed economies of the world to show the involvement of the globalization processes in the economy of the country.
External Economic Stability of the Slovak Republic

The objective of the thesis is to analyze the external economic stability of the Slovak republic. First part of the thesis explains fundamental theories of the balance of payments, its structure and equalizing mechanisms. The analysis of the external economic stability is based on the development of the balances of payments between the years 2000 and 2008. The analysis of the external debt and the international investment position are also involved to complete the image of the Slovak external economic stability.

My bachelor thesis is focused on the development of revenue and expenditure of Czech and Slovak households. In the theoretical part I dealt with by dividing the income and expenditure of households. I was looking in particular the differences in income between the two states that are its history and location very close. This also became my first order to work. Another part of this work is the statistical part of the issue containing the time series. The second objective is to establish a work estimate of the development of revenue in the future, which I included in the practical part.
The convergence process of the Slovak and Czech republic to the Economic and Monetary Union of the European Union: comparison and impacts

Bachelors thesis describes the ongoing process of convergence of the Czech Republic and the completed process of convergence of the Slovak Republic to the Economic and Monetary Union of the European Union and the adoption of the united European currency (euro) in these countries. It also gives an account of all possible impacts resulting from the adoption of the euro. Especially the thesis brings the comparison and analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of this step. The thesis describes the future progress in the Czech Republic too.
The analysis of Community Initiative Interreg IIIA projects within Czech and Slovak cross-border cooperation

This diploma thesis deals with cross-border cooperation, namely the Community Initiative INTERREG IIIA and its implementation on the Czech-Slovak border. In the theoretical part this issue is described in general. It also describes the historical development, characterizes both areas, documents issued in the field of cross-border cooperation, the institutions involved in its implementation and the process of selecting projects for the INTERREG IIIA on this border. The practical part is focused on the projects submitted under this Initiative and contains their analysis.
