Cellular Modem Emulator for Accelerating the Development of Embedded Devices

The task of this work is to acquaint readers with the diversity of the market and the support of individual modems for AT commands. Get acquainted with other networks and related protocols and introduce readers to the issue of AT commands. Design and implement a modem emulator that will be easily extensible. The run of the emulator is recorded in the terminal console. The emulator is implemented in Python.
Alarm device with message transmission via cell phone

The topic of my thesis is a kind of safety equipment that is capable of on the basis of evaluated subject to warn or inform a user preset via mobile phone. The system can not only warn users before nezvaným guest, and thus act as GSM alarm, but can also inform users when a fire or flooding the building with water. The whole system has been designed to cover the needs of the award of the project and also the needs of end users, who wished not only reliability, but also simple and friendly user interface.

GSM gate for PLC systems

The master´s thesis describes the initial design of communication module for industrial automation purposes which can transmit short status messages via the GSM network informing about the status of the connected device to a predefined telephone number. In the first part, the communication protocols are describe and a market survey is carried out. Then follows the evaluation of the market survey and the justification of construction of the device. The following chapters are devoted to the description of the device being developed, its individual components and program description and testing prototype.
Security system with mobile comunication

The main aim of this work is to create such an electronical alarm system, which could be used at permanently or temporary inhabited areas or in cars. The advantage of this system is the possibility of the silent alarm, which is carried out by SMS. These messages are sent by to the owner or to the security company by GSM service. The first part of the project tries to solve the problem of guarded areas. It is necessary to deal with this problem, so that the system itself could work correctly. The second part describes the SMS contents and the way of communication between the microprocessor ATmega16 and the mobile phone Siemens C35 by AT commands. Up-to-date price comparison of these services, which are offered by mobile provider, are included in this part. The focus of the third part is hardware realisation of electronical alarm system. This part sloves connecting of battery backup, battery recharging in the mobile phone and analyses single sensors as well. In the last part the suitable algorithm with the help of a higher level programming language C is used for the microprocessor system.

The aim is to create a VBS macros for working with databases, which will be managed phonebook and SMS messages and using a GSM module to send and receive messages. Create scripts for operations with alarms - seting and automatically sending. VBS macros for working with data CSV files and also create a way to control the barcode reader. Create a test application with the macros and test it in practice.

It selects and describes suitable GSM module for this device. Describes the whole process of electronics design in this device. Then describes the design, manufacture, assembling and testing of the PCB. In conclusion it shows the achieved results and electrical parameters of the device.

Forestry cableway remote diagnostics

This bachelor's thesis focuses on description of electronics and controllers of forestry cableways Larix. The stress is laid on controlling system among others working with GSM modem securing the communication with remote monitoring centre. The analysis of the need of local as well as remote diagnostics leads to definition of requirements for communication channel that needs to be secured. Applying GSM net and communicate through standardised industrial modems connected through port RS232 is suggested as the most effective solution. The main part of the dissertation includes particularities and possibilities of communication through GPRS service. All-embracing communication channel including the server that transfers data packets among particular clients is designed and programmed. The final part summarizes achieved results and outputs of testing compiled solution including data throughput and response. Simultaneously based on acquired experience some procedures for final implementation in evolution and production of new types of cableways are recommended.
