Competition in Passenger Rail Transport

The railway transport in Czech republicstarted to develop in recent years, private carriers enter the railway market. This Bachelor Thesis is supposed to analyze current situation of the passenger rail market, consider possible difficulties and outline assumed future development. In the end I sum up findings resulting from analysis and suggest possible solutions of the future state of affairs on the Czech railway market.

The presented thesis deals with the progress of life in the small village of Týnec nad Sázavou in connection with the formation and development of tourist interest in the region of Lower Posázaví. The progress, which was the outcome of local tourism, was reflected in the lifestyle changes made by the rural population. The important elements included new building projects and developmental opportunities in the region of Lower Posázaví, which included the construction of railways, repairing and building of road, electrification, installation of water supply and reconstruction of the state hotel in Týnec nad Sázavou. Included among the summer visitors were important and significant personalities of that period: successful entrepreneurs, scientists, politicians, writers, doctors and artists. One of the main personalities was Frantisek Janecek, who chose this township not only to spend his summer leisure time, but also for his business aims. His intentions had a great positive impact on the life of the population of Týnec nad Sázavou and its surroundings. The reflection of prosperity seen during the period of the first republic in this region remains evident till today.
Principles of Equalizing the Tractions-Engines Power Output of Foreign Provider of Railway Services

This diploma thesis "Principles of Equalizing the Tractions-engines Power Output of Foreign Provider of Railway Services" aims to delineate how inequalities in power output emerge and how they are later equalized by provider of railway services. This is one of the crucial topics for operating and putting together international trains. The theoretical basis is then used in the applied part of this thesis to describe and evaluate tractions-engines power output of selected foreign provider of railway services on Czech railway network. For better description there is also a balance of tractions-engines of power output enclose at the end of this thesis to illustrate the position of Czech Railways abroad. The analysis made in the applied part put stress on differentiating the long distance transport from cross-border international transport of passengers. Furthermore, this thesis deals with the implementation of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) in the connection with compatibility of the Czech railway network to neighbouring rail networks with emphasis on train safety appliances and the project European Train Control System (ETCS).
Passenger rail transport in the Czech Republic and Slovakia

In this bachelor thesis I analyzed the differences in rail passenger transport in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In the following chapters, I described different companies operating in the passenger transport market. I will discuss who determines the price of travel tickets, what regulations are in force by the EU and also how they work in a practical environment. At the end, I will focus later as it develops the liberalization of the rail passenger market in the CR and SR, and what projects are in those countries prepared or held.
Catering services provided in the rail transport

The aim of the thesis is to give a comprehensive overview of the state of the railway and its services in the Czech Republic. The first chapter informs about the development of rail transport and its current role in the transport system in the world. The second chapter describes the catering services in the rail transport, the forms of providing of these services and functions which it performs. The conclusion of this chapter divides the rail catering according to the place where the catering services are provided. The practical chapter analyses the catering companies operating in the rail transport in the Czech Republic and their offer and market share. The final chapter focuses on performance and future trends in the rail catering.

This company operates one of the last narrow gauge railways operating in our country. They are the significant technical monuments. Railway and nobility - at first glance the opposite sides of one coin. The aristocracy was considered conservative part of society, as a symbol of "the old times". Railway presented the other side of the coin: ?the new age? and economical progress. What was the same on these two symbols? Why nobility supported the build of railroads through their domain? How was the role of Nobles in the construction of railroads? The point of view of this publication is at the history of railways in terms of Nobles as the businessmen. Shows an example of primogeniture Schwarzenberg, how aristocrats engage themselves in the construction of railways, railway companies in the management and support local projects. You can find here examples of the nobility built industrial railroad for their business. The work shows that the nobility to maintain its economic power after the abolition of feudalism had to adopt modern capitalism and the development of rail transport.
A simulated accident of a rail tank car in the railway station Jihlava with subsequent leakage of ammonia.

This diploma thesis dealing with a simulated accident of a rail tanker in the railway station in Jihlava with subsequent leakage of ammonia has been prepared in the form of public and available information that provides a brief overview about the topic. In the introduction, possible types of extraordinary events are described with individual examples. In another part of the thesis, extraordinary events in traffic are mentioned as well as accidents connected with leakage of dangerous substances. The follow-up chapter deals with the issue of emergency planning, aimed particularly at leakage of ammonia. The remaining part is devoted to the integrated rescue system. Another chapter deals with ammonia toxicology with examples. The following part concerns railway haulage, including rail transport of ammonia. The following chapter describes the chronology of an extraordinary event with the follow-up solution. In the diploma thesis, research of awareness of the general public about ammonia is presented. The conclusion contains specification of problems that occurred during preparation of this paper. Also comparison with specialized literature is provided as well as the author{\crq}s own ideas.
Formation of integrated European railway market

The aim of this thesis is to analyse and clarify contemporary stage of the process of integration and liberalisation on the European railway market mentioning the situation in chosen member states of the European union. It also focuses on finding the answer to the question, what are the necessary steps to achieve maximum effectivity in the european railway services. This topic analyses both the European union and the states.
