Štanclová, Tereza ; Čabanová, Bohumila (advisor) ; Orságová, Petra (referee)
Bachelor thesis "Leaving the institutional substitute care and the first year of independence" deals with young people, who are leaving residential care because of their adulthood, and are becoming independent. The author observes the circumstances under which the clients are leaving institutional care and attention is also paid to after-care that allows a smoother transition from full service to life outside the institutional care. The theoretical basis is the concept of social exclusion representing the first risk threatening care leavers because of their often lower education levels and lower competitiveness in the labor market and nonfunctional social network of their family and absence of social connections. Part of the bachelor thesis is qualitative research which includes recorded interviews with clients of residential care and aftercare, as well as with experts in the field. The purpose of the research is to provide a reflection of the parties involved and to illustrate the situation of these young people.

Placement of siblings in children's homes.
NOVOTNÁ, Jana
The present Bachelor's Thesis entitled Placement of siblings in children's homes deals especially with issues of placement of siblings in the same children's home or of a family group in the same children's home, which is recommended in virtue of law. The main objective of the Dissertation is to find out how the siblings' relations are developed in the institutional care. The theoretical part of the Dissertation describes the current situation concerning institutional upbringing. The description covers both division of the types of the institutional upbringing and detailed describing of current concepts of children's homes with a school. The reasons for which children can be placed in these institutions, rights and obligations of children in children's homes, activities performed in children's homes and siblings placed in a children's home. The empirical part uses the method of qualitative research through a semi-structured interview with siblings in a children's home of a family type. I wanted to create an integrated holistic image, and therefore I performed research in natural conditions of children. The interviews were carried out in the period from June 2014 to March 2015, altogether 15 children were addressed in five family groups which are placed in a children's home with their siblings. It is necessary to work with the siblings already in the diagnostic institute and to correctly assess, according to the work results, the relation situation. There are siblings for whom common placement is very suitable and inspiring for the entire life of the child, but there are also such sibling groups for which common placement of children is counterproductive. The results of the present Bachelor's Thesis can be used for more individual approach during placement of siblings in children's homes and thus they could prevent conflicts from arising, or conversely they could prevent the siblings placed in a children's home from becoming estranged from each other.I believe that the results of my Bachelor's Thesis could be useful in everyday work of the persons working with children in children's homes. It is good to use this knowledge for improvement of the quality of their work and fostering an individual approach on the part of carers. The information found out should be put into practice in favour of the best interest of the child. It is necessary to realise, to what extent children's home staff members can influence the personality of each child who they meet during their professional activities in the children's home. Relations and formation of sibling relationships are principal for an individual and they cannot be omitted in the life.

The research was conducted by means of interviews and their subsequent analysis. It is concluded that children's home of a family type seems to be a world on the border of an institute and family, which is an emotional burden especially for educators, they put a lot of energy into family relationships with children, but children experience is only as a institute.
