Anaphylactick shock and the possibilities of dealing with it by a paramedic.
ZÁBRANSKÝ, Stanislav
The aim of the thesis was to map knowledge that paramedics of South Bohemian Emergency Medical Service have during a medical treatment of Anaphylactic shock in out-of-hospital emergency care. This topic included the knowledge of terms Anaphylactic shock, describing its symptoms, the way of its medical treatment, recommended procedures and its style of training. Six employees of South Bohemian Emergency Medical Service take part in this research. Respondents received 15 questions related to this issue. The qualitative research was used to achieve results. All the interviews were semi-structured. As emerged from the research, the training concerning Anaphylactic shock is insufficient. Most of paramedical staff have not been present during any Anaphylactic shock. They have been more present during some Allergic reaction. Therefore, their motivation to gain more knowledge of this issue is not satisfactory. Also, paramedics do not have enough knowledge of a term Anaphylactic shock. They are aware of this term, however, they are not able to describe it. The biggest problem is dosage medications. The paramedics are not sure how to dose medications without consultation with a doctor. Concerning medication of adults, the knowledge is better. However, in the case of children, the paramedics confess that they do not remember the procedure. Paramedics follow the rule which takes into consideration kilograms of a patient. However, for the reason of the faster intervention, it is better to give the amount of medication with regard to the age of a child. Another problematic question is a position of a patient when transporting to a hospital. To have better orientation and knowledge of procedures during Anaphylactic shock, paramedics should have more extensive training. Except for the mandatory training from an employer, the paramedics should have an occasional initiative of gaining the knowledge by their own.
On Belief in Power
Smetana, Pavel ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Blažková, Miloslava (referee)
This thesis researches the phenomenon of (mostly human) power from the point of view, from which human accepts it and believes in it. At first, it deals with the phenomenon of power in the work of Machiavelli (The Ruler) and it points out the possible danger of its absolutisation. For insight into thinking of Machiavelli, it deals with the analysis of Ľubomír Belás and also with the viewpoint of Anna Hogenová, Jan Patočka, Ernst Jünger, Václav Bělohradský and other authors. The thesis also shows the Comenius' criticism of Machiavelli. There comes a sort of revelation of the principle of power which disregards other values and the thesis warns against it. In the next step, the thesis researches the conception of Václav Klaus (Blue, not a Green Planet) and with the help of Jan Keller's statements and some scientifical opinions in ecological issues (Ravi Kumar Kooparapu) the thesis finds it closed in a certain way of economical thinking, guestioning-suppressive and thus somewhat power-based. Further, this thesis researches the form of strong distortion of the picture of the world which appears in the work of ideologist Alexander Dugin (The Great War of Continents). It shows dangerous power - demagogic features in his work and compares it with the similarities in the orations of Rudolf Goebbels. The...
Shockvertising and its development in marketing communication
Havlová, Laura ; Klimeš, David (advisor) ; Hejlová, Denisa (referee)
With the Internet, mobile devices and other technological innovations, advertisements have an easy way to the customers. On the other hand, all these channels and opportunities to communicate make it harder for the ads to actually affect the public. Therefore, the advertisers and creative agencies have to use more aggressive and unusual techniques to catch the people's attention. One form that wants to differentiate itself from the other ads is shockvertising, ads using shock appeal to communicate. And this type of advertising is the topic of this bachelor thesis. The aim is to find out how Czech creative workers view the use of shockvertising. Despite the fact that ads with shock appeal are no exceptions, not many professional publications focus on them as their core topic. Authors often include them into the social advertising or state them just as one of the types of creative advertising. This thesis wants to change this and concentrate purely on the shockvertising. To do this, the theoretical basis is a necessary part of the thesis. The second part is a research on shockvertising, done by ten interviews with Czech creative workers.
Evolution of interplanetary coronal mass ejections
Lynnyk, Andrii ; Vandas, Marek (advisor) ; Přech, Lubomír (referee) ; Rušín, Vojtěch (referee)
Title: Evolution of Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections Author: Andrii Lynnyk Department: Department of Surface and Plasma Science Supervisor: RNDr. Marek Vandas, DrSc. e-mail address: vandas@ig.cas.cz Abstract: This thesis deals with deformation of the Interplanetary Coronal Mass Ejections (ICMEs) and their sub-class Magnetic Clouds (MCs) during their propagation in the Solar Wind (SW). The statistical study of the expanded MCs has shown that expansion greatly affects the MC internal magnetic field. We had shown that this influence is more clear for the MCs observed close to their axes. The study of the stand-off shock distance in front of the supersonic ICME confirms a smooth deformation of the ICMEs along their path from the Sun into interplanetary space. We observed that this deformation is increasing with the velocity of the ICME. This study also confirmed the difference in sheaths that are created in front of expanding and non-expanding ICMEs. We found that velocity distribution inside the MC is not uniform and it has large fluctuations. We found that the MC cross-section is usually strongly deformed. Keywords: interplanetary coronal mass ejection, magnetic cloud, magnetosheath, flux rope, magnetic field, shock, fitting

Social consequence on the families where a member is drug addicted.
RUDOVÁ, Lucie
Abstract {--} Social consequence on the families where a member is drug addicted This current issue is considered to pose a social phenomenon of significant consequence. Together with further social problems of the day, drug addiction and its impacts rank worldwide among the most burning issues, particularly in terms of their reflection in the media. Recently, the issue of drug legalisation has often been discussed widely in the media leaving the impact of drug addiction on the families stricken with this problem out of consideration. At first, the drug addiction affects solely the addicted family member, but in the course of time, drug addiction is bound to become a burning issue for the whole family. It depends on each individual family member and their level of the development of protective mechanisms which directly correlate with their chance to master this stressor, the occurrence of drug addiction within the family. The objective of my bachelor paper has been to evaluate the social impact of drug addiction on other family members. In relationship with this objective a hypothesis has been formulated - The social impact of drug addiction on a family the members of which are drug addicted is socially significant and traumatising for the other family members. A quantitative research has been carried out in family members, whose close relatives have been treated for drug addiction. The psychiatric clinic Červený Dvůr and its highly qualified and trained medical staff provided the necessary terms and conditions for this field research. Only 44 percent of the respondents were ready and willing to participate in the research, which shows that this topic still presents a highly sensitive issue, even a taboo, for families with a drug addicted member, as these families strive to protect their private sphere and do not tend to make their drug addiction family problem public. The questionnaire was focussed on the detection of the social impact related to drug addiction within the family. Thus, the responses presented a basis for determining the rate and significance of the social impact of drug addiction on the individual respondents. The results of the research section of this bachelor paper actually showed both the social significance of the drug issue and its high traumatic rate for stricken families. The objective of the presented bachelor paper has thus been fulfilled and the results have proved the correctness of the hypothesis.
Pre-Hospital Urgent Care of Injured Motorcyclists at Traffic Accidents
SEIDL, Miroslav
Currently every day a great number of traffic accidents happens in our roads. Some accidents are followed by very serious injuries, which must be treated quickly and right. Recently many motorcyclists have been in this group of the seriously wounded and this number is still increasing. At the scene of the accident paramedics shall give the right and fast first aid mostly to a young person and they often decide on his/her life, eventually on its next quality. Paramedics must it be able to take off a protective helmet in the right way, stabilize patient´s essential vital functions and diagnose eventual shock or polytrauma. However not all the injuries can be diagnosed by paramedics with the available equipment at the scene of the accident. A good result is guaranteed in the increasing tendency of this accident rate first of all with paramedics continuous training at this specific problems. The aim of the bachelor thesis is an analysis of pre-hospital urgent care of injured motorcyclists at traffic accidents and set standard for treatment of these casualties by paramedics. The sample of respondents is represented by staff members of Health Rescue Service of South Bohemian Region and staff members of the Traumatological department of the Nemocnice České Budějovice, a.s. The data collection was performed by the methods of questioning, guided conversation and secondary data analysis. The research was performed in March 2010. Pursuant to the performed research the following hypotheses have been determined and the standard for treatment of an injured motorcyclist by paramedics has been created. Hypothesis 1: Paramedics use immobilizing tools in case of an injured motorcyclist in the right way. Hypothesis 2: Paramedics cannot take off the protective helmet in case of an injured motorcyclist in the right way.
The ability of perform first aid by students of the high schools of Zlin region
SURÁ, Kristýna
In recent years, the term ``first aid{\crqq} has become an integral part of our lives. Due to the increasingly rapid lifestyle, we are everyday witnessing traffic accidents or accidents that occur while doing extreme sports. These, together with the ever-worsening lifestyle, cause acute diseases. High school students, children from 15 up to 19, live an almost carefree life. They are often interested in sports and other forms of entertainment that may produce events requiring their help and provision of first aid. Therefore my thesis deals with the ability of high school students in the Zlín region to provide first unqualified aid. The survey was conducted at Uherský Brod high schools by means of a quantitative research questionnaire. The first objective was to ascertain the knowledge, skills, and quality of the performance in the area of first aid provision. The first hypothesis I had stipulated predicted insufficient knowledge of first aid. The survey showed 73% respondents were successful. Therefore, this hypothesis was invalidated. My next objective was to identify the level of the students{\crq} interest in first aid training in their free time. Students prefer the Czech Red Cross and joining the voluntary fire brigade or the Scout Movement. However, membership in such activities is rare. The second hypothesis was to verify students{\crq} interest in first aid training. The questionnaire shows that students are interested but only in school classes. The last objective was to analyze the content of first aid classes at high schools. All high schools deal with the topic as part of the schooling. At trade schools, this is carried out in the form of ``Safety at Work{\crqq} training. At secondary trade schools, students of the secondary nursing school are invited to train students in first aid. At secondary grammar schools the topic is taught the whole school year, as part of ``biology practical training{\crqq} classes. To achieve even better results I suggest not only further schooling in the theoretical knowledge but also practical training of approaching the injured person and the basic communication with the wounded. I recommend making the activities that offer first aid training more attractive by using e.g. adequate illustrative aids.
