Meaning rock removal in the cultivation of potatoes for starch
PACNER, Jaroslav
Diploma work was performed on a total of six lots in Vysočina County, where he measured the effect of the separation, the effect of weather and temperatures, and comparing technologies casing Rock removal of soil and techniques of planting and harvesting on quality, yield potato starch content and yield and mechanical damage of potato tubers. The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the effect of casing Rock removal of the content and starch yield and mechanical damage of potato tubers. Were evaluated three varieties of potatoes destined for processing into starch. Ornella varieties, Susan and Eurostarch. All three varieties were investigated on land záhonovým odkameněním without Rock removal. In the reporting year for all three varieties to odkameněných land has been greater yield of starch and up 2% and damage decreased by 20%. In parallel, it was found that the difference in tuber yield per hectare of the land is záhonovým odkameněním and land without casing Rock removal were influenced by variety.
Patatin proteins relative abundance in correlation to antioxidative activity of tubers of cultivated and wild potato species
MEJZLÍK, Petr
The aim of the thesis was to determine the content of pure tuber proteins, patatin relative abundance in total tuber protein, and subsequently its antioxidant potential. The theoretical part dealt with general potato characteristics, potato tuber chemical composition and description of analyzed cultivated and wild potato species. In the practical part results of laboratory analysis were presented. It was determined statistically significant genotype variability of antioxidant activity for potato tuber protein as well as for potato tuber dry matter here ranging from 0.221 (Solanum berthaultii 07S0300031) to 0.0066 mg of ascorbic acid/g dry matter (Solanum tuberosum cultivar Kuras). Any direct relationship between potato tuber protein content or patatin relative abundance and antioxidant activity was found. The findings are compared with the literature.
Effect of year, cultivar and size of seed potatoes on yield and quality of table potato tubers
CHUCHEL, Jan
In this thesis, the effects of year, variety and size of seed tubers on yield and quality of potato tubers were evaluated. In the two years (2011 and 2012), four potato varieties (Velox, Marabel, Adéla and Laura) were used. Size of seed tubers for all varieties was split into three size fractions: A < 35 mm, B 35-60 mm and C > 60 mm. In both years of observation were monitored following parameters: total and marketable yield, average number of stems per plant, number of tubers per plant, number of tubers per stem, the average weight of tuber, proportion of tuber size in harvested tubers, content of dry matter and starch in tubers fresh matter. Year contributed most to the total variability in total and market tuber yield (51.2%. And 54.4%, respectively). Size of seed tubers showed the highest proportion in the total variability of number of stems per plant (94.7%). Declared cooking type in all evaluated varieties was kept. Table value was significantly affected only by variety.
Methodical procedure to utilize Real Time RT-PCR (QRT-PCR) and RT-PCR for potato spindle tuber viroid (PSTVd) detection
Ptáček, J. ; Domkářová, J. ; Kreuz, L. ; Matoušek, Jaroslav
The main result is the establishment of molecular detection methods for potato spindle-tuber viroid (PSTVd) in breeding materials from potato Solanum tuberosum. These techniques are able to sensitively and reliably detect this quarantine disease during any developmental phase of potato.
Effect of seed tuber size on yield structure in potatoes
CHUCHEL, Jan
The thesis examined the effect of seed tuber size on the structure of the potato yield. In the one year trial ( 2011) four varieties were applied (Velox, Marabel, Adela, Laura) have been grown in the conventional system. The size of seed tubers were divided into three size fractions: A < 35 mm, B 35 to 60 mm and C > 60 mm. Number of plants per area and number of stems per plant were observed during the vegetation period. The number of tubers per stem and average weight per tuber were determined after harvest. Furthermore was also found total and market yield of tubers. The size of seed tubers most significantly influenced the number of stems per plant (of 93.9%) and the number of tubers per stem (of 80.5%). The resulting parameter values were highly influenced by the course of weather in 2011.
Potential of wild, primitive and cultivated potato species in potato breeding programs
POSPÍCHALOVÁ, Jitka
The bacherol thesis is focused on actual situation and potential of wild, primitive and cultivated potato species (genus Solanum) usage in programmes of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) breeding. The first part of the bacherol thesis describes history of potato domestication and gives basic information about potatoes - their biology, morphology and physiology. The second part is focused on the potato varietes and on problematic of potato breeding. The last part is focused on evaluation of present and future potential of wild, primitive and cultivated potato species in specific breeding programmes of cultivated potatoes (Solanum tuberosum L.).
The influence of factors at produce starch of potato
ŠOBROVÁ, Martina
The thesis is focused on the factors influencing the production of starch potatoes. These factors include the influence of variety, seed, soil, stress, fertilization, climatic conditions and weather. The work also provides basic information about potatoes, the history of the potato and its importance, the use of potatoes, the biological characteristics, morphology and chemical composition of potatoes. There is also an evaluation of the economics for potato starch processing.

Evaluation of SDS-PAGE tuber protein profiles for their potential use in potato cultivar characterization
PEŠINA, Jiří
The use of various types of gel electrophoresis for characterization and identifying plant varieties is well estabilished. This diploma work deals with the possibility characterize potato cultivar (Solanum tuberosum L.) by the help of electrophoretic technique SDS {--} PAGE tuber protein profiles. Soluble potato tuber proteins can be classified according to their molecular weight (kDa) into three groups: First, the major tuber protein patatin (37 {--} 44 kDa); second, a group constituted of protease inhibitors (6 {--} 24 kDa); and third group containing all other proteins. First two group manifest genetic variability, which is necessary evalute for its potential using of potato cultivar characterization.
The influence of density growth potatoes on decree tuber
ŠVAJNEROVÁ, Markéta
In the potato production type, 380 {--} 400 m above sea level, was studied density 40 000, 45 000, 50 000, 55 000 plants per 1 ha on the yield potato, average number of tubers on the plant, proportion and average weight of tubers. The maximum yield of tubers were recorded at density 45 000 plants per 1 ha (varieties Impala, Adéla, Futura). Density grow it was not influence at proportion market tubers. Highest density growth the meaning reduction average weight of tubers.
