Looking Back
Ivanová, Karolína ; Hládeková, Katarína (referee) ; Smetana, Matěj (advisor)
In my bachelor thesis I will deal with the connection between observation and photography process. I watch how the process of photography is born in its simplest and most basic form and in the initial idea. The first part of my bachelor thesis consists of audio recordings where I capture the everyday moments of interest that I was interested in. I am interested in the relationship between photos by word / language, how the language enters the photo, and vice versa. It is enough to look at the picture and associations and memories and ideas are reflected in words and images. It's about raising "mental" photos in my mind. The second part of my bachelor's thesis consists of a mirror object, which is activated only when the viewer is involved in the observation process.
Influence of the forest environment under the disparate anthropogenic pressure on insects
Štěpánek, Jakub ; Horák, Jakub (advisor) ; Mladenovič, Strahinja (referee)
Bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the influence of environmental variables on the abundance of insects in areas left to spontaneous development. Concretely the location Nature Reserve Forest Polom and National Nature Reserve Žákova hora. In these localities were deployed window traps. Twelve traps at each site. Subsequently were made a total of 4 collections, which were categorized into higher taxonomic groups, the level of orders. Overall were trapped 10 365 individuals divided into 16 orders of insects. With using statistical analysis was evaluated the influence of the environment variables. Environment variables: trunk thickness (cm), distance from the center (m), percentage of spruce (%) had an insignificant effect on the total number of trapped individuals and the number of orders. Statistical significance was demonstrated only for the abundance of the order Hymenoptera in NNR Žákova hora.
Between monologue and dialogue: An interpretation of Buber's book I and Thou
Rosolová, Daniela ; Čapek, Jakub (advisor) ; Jirsa, Jakub (referee)
This paper is devoted to a critical analysis of the book I and Thou in the attempt to identify the main points of the dialogical philosophy as presented by Martin Buber. The introductory passages present the background of the book in terms of time (the era after WWI), cultural background (the influence of Hasidism), or the history of philosophy (an opposition to immanentism, monism, idealism, transcendental philosophy etc.). The main goal of the following interpretation is to try to understand man as a person in his complex existential situation, i.e. through his potential relationships or objectifying attitudes to the world. Being is described as a dual structure either of the basic pair of words I-Thou or of the basic pair of words I-It. As opposed to the usual use of the term, dialogue is defined as a specific interaction of man and the remaining world metaphorically expressible by the structure of addressing-responding. By this scheme, the characteristic reciprocity and direct continuity is expressed. The dialogue is also placed in the area "between" I and Thou, which mediates the genuine, immediate and transcendental knowledge constituting the reality. Finally, the dialogical attitude is compared and contrasted to the monological comprehension of the world. Key words: personalism, dialogical...
Outsiders in the Works of Tennessee Williams and Sam Shepard
Kecerová, Martina ; Wallace, Clare (advisor) ; Ulmanová, Hana (referee)
This thesis analyzes characters - outsiders that appear in the plays The Glass Menagerie, A Streetcar Named Desire written by Tennessee Williams and True West and Fool for Love by Sam Shepard. These outsiders are always singled out from somewhere and they have difficulties to fit in a relationship, society or the physical environment in which they are found. They have been outsiders their entire lives, thus the past is as important as the present. These characters were classified as outsiders because they cannot or do not want to fit in a majority, belong to one specific place and adjust to environment. Consequently, they often use various means to fight against the reality that they are not part of instead of accepting it. In the introduction of the thesis I explain that even though there is a gap of several decades between the works of both authors and their style of writing is considerably different, we can still find the similar characters that are lost in reality. In this section of the thesis I also discuss the fact that the way authors describe the characters can be related to their own lives and experiences that formed them. Tennessee Williams, since a child, was very sensitive and different from other children and later-confessed homosexuality also made him an outsider. This can be later...
Radiation Detectors Noise Spectroscopy
Byly nalezeny a popsány zdroje nadbytečného šumu.
Access to the first treatment of the newborn within twenty years
FORMANOVÁ, Renata
To make the passage of a newborn infant from its intrauterine to the extrauterine life a smooth process, and to facilitate the infant's proper postnatal adaptation, the quality of medical personnel and their approach to the initial treatment of the infant come as matters of utmost importance. The theoretical section of the paper concentrates on the initial treatment as practiced today and the same treatment as administered twenty years ago. Specified are the major changes that the treatment underwent throughout the last twenty years. The practical section of the paper focuses on experience and practices followed by midwives during the recent twenty years when providing the initial treatment in selected South Bohemian hospitals. To make an inquiry into this matter and to reach the below-specified objectives, the author chose to apply the method of qualitative investigation. The method assumed the form of semi-standardized interviews with midwives giving the newborn infants their initial treatment in six selected South Bohemian hospitals between 1990 and 2010. The paper had two objectives: (1) to find out the differences, if any, in the approach to the initial treatment of newborns as practiced from 1990 to 2010; and (2) to make a comparison between the individual procedures of the treatment while revealing any differences possibly experienced from 1990 to 2010. Both the objectives have been accomplished. Research Question 1, i.e. "What are the differences in approach to the initial treatment of newborns between what was common twenty years ago and what can be encountered today?", has been answered as follows: the personnel's approach altered when the system of rooming-in was introduced. Unlike the situation in 1990, nowadays the system is fully developed. Modified was the stance towards the mother, father and the baby - now they are perceived as a family. Preference is given to contact between the mother and the child immediately after the delivery; the father's presence is welcomed; breastfeeding is supported; and handling the infant in any other way is minimized. Research Question 2, i.e. "What are the differences in procedures used for the initial treatment of newborns between what was common twenty years ago and what can be encountered today?". During the 20 years a number of the practices has undergone quite substantial changes. Changed has been the treatment of umbilical cord; the infant's identification; postnatal suction; the metering of bodily dimensions; thermo-management; technical background; vitamin K administration; decontamination of the conjunctival sac; and the advancement of the rooming-in system. This Bachelor paper can help all medical workers get acquainted with the practices formerly employed to give a newborn baby the initial treatment and to compare the practices with the current situation. The research results can be utilized in teaching at the University of South Bohemia and published in professional journals and on the Internet.
