Measurement of meteorological variables
Škorpík, Daniel ; Harabiš, Vratislav (referee) ; Chmelař, Milan (advisor)
This bachelor thesis discusses about the basic meteorological variables, especially temperature and airflow. These magnitudes are measured using an anemometer which uses resistive sensors, namely, two thermistors of NTC type that described technology, operations, methods of scanning, sensor placement and implementation of such a device. After that was designed block diagram and circuit diagram. The meter is realized, than we describe the individual components and then is calibrated and tested. In conclusion, it is evaluated for use in medicine.
Volumetric Clouds
Barvíř, Marek ; Matýšek, Michal (referee) ; Starka, Tomáš (advisor)
This master thesis deals with creation of library for volumetric clouds. The paper describes specific techniques for creation and rendering volumetric clouds as clouds and atmospheric scattering. For rendering this type of effects we have to cover theory for participating media.
Emo Weather
Drštičková, Hana ; Šlesingerová,, Eva (referee) ; Sterec, Pavel (advisor)
The artwork was created by linking two thematic areas, mental health and atmospheric phenomena aka weather. I am examining forms of alienation and emotional numbness, which I follow by thematizing the isolation of people from the external environment and manifestations of local weather. I touch upon the topics of current weather representations, such as meteorological satellite images, and last but not least, I contemplate the fact of climate crisis. The work takes the form of a 100-minute long video, a set of 21 paintings by aniline colors on paper, sound track played in a loop and additional literature, texts and sketches available for public.
Thermal convection in Czech Republic and its using by sport pilots
Ožana, Martin ; Hudec,, František (referee) ; Krška,, Karel (advisor)
This thesis provides a brief overview of ascending airflow typology in the Czech Republic, in particular the occurrence and prediction of thermical convection. Since gliders are usually towed by motor aicraft, it also includes summary of knowledge, that should be known by towing aircraft pilot.
Use of Climatic Conditions and Meteorological Information for the Optimization Thermal Cross-Country Flights
Kubátová, Martina ; Daněk, Vladimír (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the meteorological conditions of soaring flights. It desribes the basic concepts such as thermal convection, clouds, the effects of orography, storm activity. trailing wave.
Design of the IoT weather station
Pala, Andrej ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
A reader of this thesis is introduced into basic think about Internet of Things initiation, is informed about elementary meteorologic terminology, about meteorologic units and about their processing. The reader will also read about possible variant of IoT weather station design solution including hardware and software outputs, including guidelines and descriptions related to the design and including final summary of the problematics.
Platform for Measurement of Atmospheric Quantities
Hanák, Jiří ; Vlk, Jan (referee) ; Chudý, Peter (advisor)
This work is dealing with the design and implementation of an embedded system for aerology measuring. The aim of the system is to monitor atmospheric states during an ascent in the suspension under an meteorological balloon.   First of all, attention is given to the Earth's atmosphere and its quantities, then an overview of existing systems for performing aerological measurements. The core of the work is focused on the choice of measurement techniques and the selection of suitable measuring elements for a given scenario. The aerological probe is using atmospheric sensors HIH-8131-021-001, MS5611-01BA03 and PT1000-550 for temperature sensing, while GNSS data is received using the MAX-M8Q-0 module and the measured data is stored on a microSD card and transmitted in parallel using the MTX2-434.650-10 radio module. The system is controlled by STM32L1 from STMicroelectronics programmed in C using  HAL abstraction layer.
Description of basic meteorological principles and measuring instruments
Klusáček, Ondřej ; Klimeš, Lubomír (referee) ; Prinz, František (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is focused on the description of basic meteorological principles and their impact on everyday life. There is a brief description of the atmosphere and then detailed description of basic quantities and individual principles taking place in the atmosphere. In the end of this thesis is given measuring instruments for each quantity.
Wind shear as a dangerous fenomenon in aviation
Novozámský, Adam ; Jebáček, Ivo (referee) ; Krška, Karel (advisor)
This thesis is about wind shear and its influence on aviation. There is wide theoretical description of wind shear and it’s implemented into aviation practice. There are also methods of observation, forecasting and reporting, for both pilots and meteorologist described. In this thesis, pilots can find useful recommendations for dealing with wind shear during the flight. Every reader can also read about famous aviation accidents and look at models of weather that caused those accidents. At the end of thesis there are analyses of a rawiosonde measurements related to wind shear reports. This whole thesis is focused on increasing awareness of wind shear in aviation from angle of view of both pilots and aviation meteorologist.
Methods of Weather Forecasting and Their Use in Biology at the Lower Secondary School
Vladyková, Martina ; Říhová, Dagmar (advisor) ; Andreska, Jan (referee)
This thesis is dedicated to meteorology and its inclusion in the teaching of biology in primary school. It also focuses on various examples of weather forecasting methods and their subsequent use in teaching. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces basic meteorological concepts, instruments and methods of weather forecasting. It also deals with the history of meteorology and weather forecasting. A large part of the chapter on weather forecasting methods consists mainly of the possibilities of forecasting on the basis of own observations and by means of observations of nature. This section also includes an analysis of textbooks for primary school grades 1 and 2 to provide an overview of the inclusion of meteorology or weather forecasting in science and science education. The practical part of the thesis is aimed at verifying the real use of three methods of weather forecasting (changes): the storm glass, the leech barometer and a simple physical barometer made from a jar and a glass bottle. The final thesis is also devoted to a practical observation in the context of laboratory activities for 6th grade primary school students. The observation was designed to enrich the teaching of the topic of ringworms, which is included in the curriculum of the sixth grade.
