Completion of a city block Urban development study of a city block between the streets Koliště, Cejl a Vlhká
Vik, Ondřej ; Nový, Vítězslav (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
WIDER RELATIONS: The situation of the proposal is outlook and is based on the assumption that the derelict area will be rehabilitated in the so-called Bronx in Brno. It is envisaged to move the main railway station to the "river" position and to use the existing railway embankment for pedestrians and cyclists. TRANSPORT: The street Koliště serves as a transport sewer. I propose a narrowing of the communication profile and cancellation of a separate turn right from Koliště street to Cejl Street. This step allows for better work with block mass and more convenient pedestrian communication. This step assumes completion of a larger urban circuit but is not dependent on it. The town block is connected by the entrance to the underground garages from Koliště street. Parking in front of the building of the City Police Headquarters is reduced and converted into a pre-space corresponding to the importance of the building.

Kratochvilová, Jana ; Drobníček, Ladislav (referee) ; Menšíková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Sobotka, Jindřich (advisor)
Thesis, following the studio project subject AG32 is a development study of this subject to the level of documentation for building permits and documentation for the execution of the project. The subject matter is the subject of a residential building with a business on the ground floor. The building is situated in the city of Brno Židenice place in a corner vacant lot a block of houses and apartment buildings. In the immediate vicinity of the proposed building is an industrial zone and a very busy road move, which follows the D1 motorway. It is these negative influences around a significant lack of greenery formed the basis of my main idea of the concept and overall construction. The aim of my work was to create a design that respects the unwritten regulation in their surroundings and also excels in terms of processing. Designed building offers a lucrative living with a piece of nature inside the house and helps to increase the attractiveness of this district. The associated functions of the apartment building I chose the pediatrician's office. In terms of architectural design respects the existing street line, the height level and simple vocabulary surroundings. Artistic intention was to achieve a minimalist design using the system facing glass-fiber-concrete boards Polycon. One component of this material is a photocatalytic cement TioCem technology TX Active. This component is referred to as "active" building material via photocatalysis decomposes harmful substances in the air and contributes to the quality of air in your neighborhood. The proposal is also an emphasis on economic built-up areas, rational available both in use and in terms of construction and maximum illumination of the interior.
Design of a contemporary city district in the environment of the historic city.
Landa, Karel ; Obrtlík,, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The assignment of the diploma thesis was set to design new structure inside of historic city, which in the past went through major changes due to construction of main road leading through and dividing it to the 2 parts by creating a psychological barrier. This road was built mainly because of the construction of nuclear plant Dukovany to transit its part and component via this road. Simultaneously the thesis assignment was to design new bus station to replace existing one which is oversized from its completion and to incorporate this bus station to the life of the city. In my proposal I was creating the city structure by using principles set by historic structure of the city adapted to modern normative requirements while finding new genius loci of the area, which is in my proposal created by uncovering the Stařečka stream, which was hidden by construction of bus station. Next goal of the proposal was to improve possibility to walk faster through city by creating shortcuts and paths for the main and most important users of the city which are the people.
City within the City / "Trnitá City Block"
Menšík, David ; Hybská, Bohumila (referee) ; Nový, Vítězslav (advisor)
The assignment of the work was the elaboration of two planned blocks of the new Brno southern center. In cooperation with the Office of the Architect of the City of Brno, we adjusted them to the final form, from which twelve plots were created, for twelve graduates of the Nový-Palasčák studio. The land solved by me is located at the meeting of Opuštěná Street and the Svratka River. It thus forms an important urban corner, marking the newly emerging district. Due to its character, significance, size and multifunctional arrangement, I called this corner building „Opuštěná Palace“.

Hodálová, Lenka ; Jura, Pavel (referee) ; Pelčák, Petr (advisor)
The area of town part called Ring is situateted in Brno surrounded by Cejl, Křenová, Vlhká and Kolište Street. The main aim of the urban design is to provide the complete rehabilitation of the urban structure. The incompletely and accidentally arranged build- up area with many sandlots should be replaced with the traditional compact blocks which enable the create streets, boulevards, roads, green belts and a new piazetta. This design divides the border between private and public space. It counts with the replacement of the railway and bus station. There is designed the urban block with the dominance of the building function between the Cejl and Vlhká Street in the close neighborhood of old Edison factory. Another part of this block is created by the group of public buildings- Sport centre and Art school. There is also a hotel and an administrative building connecting few magistracies in the one place. The sport centre is divided into seven storeys respecting the fact that some storeys are 9 metres high if it requires the character of the sport space. There is a volume suitable for the basketball hall which can be reached from the entrance or from the second level. There one can found fitness centre, rehabilitation and relax centre, indoor golf, badminton, climbing wall, space for aerobic or zumba on the next floors. There is a restaurant offering the unique view on the town on the top of the building. The roof of the basketball hall is green with the minigolf. The essential component of the design is façade with blinds which enables the dynamically changing appearance of the building.
Design of a sustainable urban structure - based on a medieval city - for the 21st century.
Čech, Daniel ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of the design was to create a functional urban structure in Náměšť nad Oslavou, which works on the principles of a modern city of the 21st century, but is also inspired by elements of a medieval city. So it is a marriage of the old with the new. On this basis, a compact functional structure was designed, which functions as a complement to the existing development and does not serve as a separate unit. In the new development, therefore, elements were designed to help improve the quality of life throughout the city. Emphasis was placed on the unique character of the development, a car-free center, plenty of green space and work with natural resources. The design has a lifespan of tens to hundreds of years. The proposed development can later be extended to the space, but also to the height.
Annen Gate
Illéš, Ján ; Eichlerová, Eva (referee) ; Kopáčik, Gabriel (advisor)
A multifunctional city block is designed for the currently empty place in Brno, on the corner of Pekarská and Anenská streets. The urban, architectural and material-spatial solution tries to respect the scale and cultural-historical context of the place. The proposed main function of housing is enlivened by additional functions of administration and trade and services on the ground floor. The corner is an important compositional point and the proposed round and glazed shape of the building will form a visual dominant on the view from Pekarská Street. In the city block, the inner space of the courtyard is created, in which the historical heritage of the retaining wall of the hill on which the church once stood is presented. The passage through the city block is possible in the route of the former street U sv. Anny. The lack of green spaces in the courtyard is compensated by the creation of green roofs for residents and users. The architectural expression of the townhouse tries to follow the traditions of modernism, typical for the city of Brno.
