Value Orientation and Life Plans of Children and Youth with Behaviour Disorders

This thesis deals with the value orientation and life plans of children and adolescents who are placed into young offenders' institutions because of their behavioural disorders. The theoretical part elucidates basic conceptions related to values and value orientations. It applies to individual development, family issues and education, behavioural disorders and refers to the difficulty of education and re-education in school facilities for the practice of institutional and protective education. The empirical part is a combination of a quantitative and a qualitative research. The questionnaire survey was used to determine the value orientation, life goals, preferred leisure activities, some attitudes and information about clients from the young offenders' institutions. The questionnaires were handed over to respondents from the six children's homes with school and young offenders' institutions. The established values hierarchy and life goals were compared with the results of a similar research. The unstructured interviews with children ending the compulsory education were mainly focused on the choice of study and career orientation. The probation and mediation as a form of work with juvenile offenders

The aim of diploma thesis "Probation and mediation as a form of work with juvenile offenders" is to elaborate the social pedagogic aspects of probation and mediation activities. It is intended to be a theoretic study and is divided into five chapters. The opening chapter is concerned for causes of delinquent beaviour and offers an enumeration of factors causing the uprise of this kind of behaviour among youth. The second chapter aims at possibilities of juvenile criminality prevention. The third chapter is employed with an institution of Probation and Mediation Services, which plays an important role on the field of terciary prevention of juvenile criminality. Fourth chapter treats with concrete ways of work of probation officers with their clients. Their work is analysed in the last chapter emphasising the social pedagogic potential of probation and mediation activities. It also mentions a possibility of social support in the work of probation officers.

Methods of investigation of crimes committed by juvenile

This work is focused on understanding of juvenile crime and delinquency. At the beginning I try to explain the basic concepts and give information about juvenile crime from statistics, which should show a development of juvenile delinquency at time in our country. A base of my work is composed of methods of investigation of crimes committed by juvenile. A special attention is paid to causes of their delinquency so we could suggest a prevention of youth criminality. We can ensure how they commit crimes, typical kinds of motives and their personality charakteristics. Personality of the juveniles is very specific so people acting with them must be extra-careful. It concerns mainly specialities in hearing of childrem. At the close I am thinking about possibilities of prevention of the juveniles'asocial behavior.

Juvenile deliquency in the Tábor region.

The submitted bachelor degree essay deals with juvenile delinquency, its kinds and possibilities to impose various kinds of sanctions. The main objectives were to find out what types of crime prevailed in juvenile delinquents in the Tábor region and what kinds of measures were imposed on them. The theoretical section describes various types of measures and types of criminal activities with reference to Act no. 301/2011 Coll. The author also mentions possible factors of the occurrence of pathological behaviour in children and juveniles. The essay also lists the distribution of prevention and mentions the important role of the Probation and Mediation Service in the Czech Republic. The practical section focuses on quantitative research where I applied the questionnaire technique which was submitted to respondents ? members of the Czech Police in Tábor and clerks from Tábor branch of the Probation and Mediation Service in the Czech Republic. 31 respondents participated in the research.

Specifics of juvenile deliquency

Juvenile deliquency is one of the most serious theme of our society. It´s not simply to explain it and find a simply resolution. In my work I am trying to express its specific forms, evaluate its situation, express conditions and causes of this negative fact. One of the point of view is to compile summary of preventive and repressive precautions against to diffusion of these society problem.

Criminal Justice in the Affairs of Children under Fifteen

This bachelor work deals with the specifities of criminal justice for children under fifteen in the Czech Republic, it defines basic terms, sketches the history of criminal justice for juveniles as a separated system in the USA and Europe (especially in CR) and also outlines some related legislation. It maps the process and circumstances of legal proceedings, the possibilities and sense of criminal sanctions for child delinquents. It documents the development of juvenile delinquency in CR between 2000 and 2008 and it presents evidence that the number of criminal acts commited by children under fifteen is decreasing. In the centre of attention there is also an issue of the formation of criminal liability and discussion about the decrease of its bottom line regarding all arguments of both proponents and opponents. The results of the research and public inquiry illustrate that Czech public is rather for its decreasing. The work also outlines the operation of some organisations, present and planned institutions for working with risky juveniles. It also compares the position of juvenile delinquents in some countries of Europe and North America.
