The effect of swimming training on children with skin problems
Kleinerová, Kateřina ; Svobodová, Irena (advisor) ; Jandová, Soňa (referee)
The diploma thesis focuses on children of early school age who have undergone mandatory swimming training in pools with various water disinfection methods, specifically chlorine, salt, and UV+. The aim of the thesis is to analyse how this swimming instruction affects children with different skin conditions, such as dry skin, atopic eczema, psoriasis, and plantar warts. The research was conducted at three different primary schools, each of which visited a different swimming pool with a distinct water treatment method during the swimming lessons. A total of 348 students participated in the research, including 172 girls and 176 boys from the 3rd and 4th grades, aged 8 to 11. The research utilized the method of quantitative personal interviewing and the method of qualitative observation. The theoretical part delves into swimming, swimming instruction, water treatment methods in swimming pools, and selected skin diseases. The practical part outlines the research findings. The obtained results demonstrated that skin dryness was observed in 35.4% of students from all three schools participating in swimming lessons. Skin dryness manifested in 26.5% of students in the chlorinated pool, in 46.2% of students in the salt-treated pool, and in 34.6% of students in the UV+ pool. The exacerbation of atopic eczema...
Experiencing atopic eczema from the perspective of young adult women
Poláková, Erin ; Valentová, Hana (advisor) ; Frombergerová, Anna (referee)
The presented master thesis is focused on the issue of atopic eczema. The aim of the thesis was to map the experiences of young adult women with atopic eczema, with an emphasis on their subjective experience of this disease. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and an empirical part. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces the reader to the topic. It defines the term atopic eczema, describes its specifics, forms, etiopathogenesis and treatment options. It also deals with the psychosomatic approach as one of the possible approaches to this disease. In the theoretical part, the psychosocial aspects of atopic eczema are also taken into account, including the impact of the diagnosis on the quality of life of adult patients. The theoretical part is followed by the empirical part. Here are presented the results of a qualitative study in which eight semi-structured interviews were conducted with young adult women who were diagnosed with atopic eczema during their lifetime. By analyzing the data obtained, nine main categories were identified, which capture the individual experiences of women with atopic eczema. These are the categories of specifics of eczema, triggering factors, eczema as an obstacle, emotions associated with eczema, methods of managing eczema, reactions of the environment,...
Quality of life of a child with a rare skin disease
KOUBOVÁ, Michaela
This diploma thesis deals with a rare skin condition called Ichthyosis which is, for the majority of the population, unknown. It is a rare genetic disease that is manifested via a different skin look and a bad bodily thermoregulation. The aim of this thesis is to map out the specific needs in the lives of children suffering from this disease and to point out the aspects of life quality for children thus diagnosed and their families, too. The theoretical part deals with the history, diagnosis, symptom description, the causes of origin as well as care for an individual suffering from this illness. To fulfil the aims of the practical part qualitative research was chosen in the design of a case study focused on a description of complex care and subjective understanding of quality of life in addressed individuals suffering from the given illness and their families.
Posouzení výskytu kožních nemocí u koní
ZLATOHLÁVKOVÁ, Martina
The thesis deals with the presence of skin diseases in horses in South Bohemian region. The theoretical part describes a skin system, infectious and non-infectious skin diseases and a success of treatment disease if possible. In the practical part, 1,228 horses were monitored, of which 84 had some type of skin disease. The following information was provided for each horse: breed, sex, age, color, number of co-stabled horses, type of horse stabling, presence of pasture, feed, type of skin disease, occurrence periodicity, manifestations, treatment results and possible medications. The most common influences which influenced the type of skin disease and its manifestations was color, feed and periodicity. The most common occurrence was equine insect bite hypersensitivity (27 %), cracked heels (20 %), sarcoid (18 %), mold (12 %) and eczema (6 %). Treatment results was different for each disease, but the most problematic was equine insect bite hypersensitivity and best treatable was mold and eczema.
Influence of Psychogonical Factors on Skin Diseases
Eklová, Zuzana ; Preiss, Marek (advisor) ; Procházková, Jana (referee)
The the thesis is focused on the issue of psychic factors influencing a distribution and extent of skin diseases. The bachelor work consists of three main parts: In the first - theorotical one is the psychosomatic issue taken to parts throught a general point of view and through a perspecitve of skin diseases. Following part is a story of my own experience with ekzema and its healing proccess. The most extensive part presents a qualitative research exploring a presence of three phenomenons that appear in letters as possible factors effecting a distribution and extent of skin diseases. These phenomenons are: diffcult life events, negative strategies of stress management and neurotic components of personality. Results of the research show a possibility of influence of psychic factors on the extent of skin diseases, but they also show us how individual and non-uniform this influence is.
Generation of Skin Diseases into the Synthetic Fingerprints from Anguli
Míšová, Miroslava ; Kanich, Ondřej (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with skin diseases affecting fingers and palms. For this thesis dyshidrotic eczema and hyperkeratosis has been chosen. Fingerprints with these diseases from database of research group STRaDe is analyzed. Procedure, how to generate this diseases into fingerprints with generator Anguli, is proposed. Procedure is implemented and evaluated by tests of algorithms for fingerprints comparison.

Generation of Skin Disease Effects into Synthetic Fingerprints from SFinGe Generator
Wildmann, Radek ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis discuss the topic of generation of skin disease effects, psoriasis and colagenosis into synthetic fingerprints from SFinGe generator. Thesis includes theoretical as well as practical approach of the topic including implementation design, program implementation and experiment results. SFinGe approach is used to generate fingerprints. Python (2.7.6) is used to implement algorithm for image processing and generating disease symptoms with OpenCV, Matplotlib, NumPy and SciPy libraries. For results evaluation, NFIQ standard and Oravec approach are used. The application is able to generate fingerprint image with symptoms of psoriasis or colagenosis, therefore it can be used for futher research with biometric systems.
Generation of Skin Disease Effects into Synthetic Fingerprints from Anguli Generator
Hytychová, Tereza ; Drahanský, Martin (referee) ; Kanich, Ondřej (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to design and implement a tool for generation of skin disease effects into synthetic fingerprints from Anguli generator. The proposed algorithms are capable of creating images with effects of warts and hyperkeratotic eczema. The OpenCV library was used for image processing. The resulting images are tested by VeriFinger and can be used for testing fingerprint recognition systems. Test results proved that both of the diseases have negative impact on fingerprint recognition. By adding effects of warts to a~fingeprint image, the image quality has decreased by up to 34 % and by adding effects of hypekeratotic eczema, the quality has decreased by up to 77 %.
