Gilles Deleuze "on" Chris Marker: Imaginary Rendezvous
Strejcovský, Jan ; BARTOŠEK, Pavel (advisor) ; PETŘÍČEK, Miroslav (referee)
Despite the fact that the French philosopher Gilles Deleuze has included many contemporaries, co-workers and friends of Chris Marker in his controversial writings on film, Marker himself is missing among the analyzed filmmakers. This thesis challenges the supposed passiveness between both authors assuming certain intersections between their thoughts, aiming to look at several of Chris Marker's emblematic films - indeed not comprehensively, rather naturally subjectively - through the key themes from some of Gilles Deleuze's books. Statues Also Die and Cinama II: The Time-Image; La Jetée and Bergsonism; Sunless and Proust and Signs.

Romanian New Wave approaches to background action directing
Hecht, Jan ; MAREK, Petr (advisor) ; ŠPAČEK, Radim (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the director's approach to the so-called "background action directing". Its theoretical frame and formal aspects, which can be used by the director when creating the background action, is discussed in the first part of this work. The focus in the work's analytical section is on the way these aspects are practically applied. This is shown on some films chosen from the Romanian New Wave, which is seen in this work as an original national-cinematographic phenomenon. The thesis finishes with the author's evaluation of his own experience with the given topic and summarises the outcomes of the analysis of the cinematographic works.
Extraordinary Worlds of Katsuhito Ishii
Holý, Šimon ; VALAK, Radim (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Tomáš (referee)
Katsuhito Ishii is without question one of the most interesting Japanese film directors alive. Therefore, goal of this bachelor's work called “Extraordinary worlds of Katsuhito Ishii” is to create a combination of biographical monograph and analysis of his most critically acclaimed and successful film to date that is “Taste of tea”. That movie may come across as imaginary point of intersection of all formal figures and ranges of topics he used in all his films.
The journey of Jaroslav Papousek to film directing through non-filming artistic activities and collaboration with Milos Forman and Ivan Passer
Rybanský, Adam Koloman ; SLÁMA, Bohdan (advisor) ; BERNARD, Jan (referee)
My bachelor thesis deals with the life of Jaroslav Papoušek until he made his first film The Most Beautiful Age. It maps his artistic activity as a painter, sculptor, cartoonist and writer. All of that is reflected in his film profession. When he finished the novel Black Peter and started to work on script with Milos Forman, he discovers his scriptwriting talent and a good sense for dialogues which he continued to develop as a part of a trio of authors. Experience he gained by working with directors such as Miloš Forman and Ivan Passer naturally led him to his director's debut The Most Beautiful Age. I chose this film to describe his influence of fine art disciplines, precisely the art of sculpture, and also his influence of his previous collaborations on his scriptwriting and director's perception.
Experiencing film dimension in the work of Artavazd Pelešjan
Chernyak, Daria ; DORUŠKA, Tomáš (advisor) ; BROTHÁNEK, Adam (referee)
The time of cinema is coming to an end, while the era of digital technologies is arriving. On the one hand, one may perceive it as a tragedy for cinematography professionals, on the other hand it can be seen as an interesting challenge. The opportunities of virtual reality are numerous, but examples of a thoughtful and conscious approach to them are few. Probably the main question a spectator asks himself in a synthetic environment is: “Who am I in this world?” This work attempts to give an answer to this question from the point of view of filmmakers – What should be, according to the filmmaker, the position of the audience towards their film? I think that this approach will both help to seek for a new means of expression for cinema and also to raise awareness of the possibilities virtual reality and it's possible influence on cinema experience.

ASMR
Stejskalová, Bára Anna ; POSPISZYL, Tomáš (advisor) ; PAVLÁTOVÁ, Michaela (referee)
ASMR is a phenomena, which tries to induce a feeling of a physical touch in the viewer. It is spread mostly on the Youtube platform. His creators are primarily amateurs, who pushed this sector from the most simple videos to the half-professional level through using professional technology (very sensitive microphones, 360° shooting, using googles for virtual reality). Elicit the physical response through flm could enrich the viewer´s experience from the piece. Yet, the ASMR remains in the underground. The goal of this thesis is to describe and analyse ASMR, compare it to audio-visual media production and ask a question, whenever it is possible to induce the physical responce, with the same principals, in the animation.
