The Strategic Position of Eastern Galicia within the West Ukrainian Republic
Pastuščak, Alan ; Šír, Jan (advisor) ; Klípa, Ondřej (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on a partial episode of international and diplomatic relations of one of the short-lived successor states of Austria-Hungary - the West Ukrainian Republic. When, in the fall of 1918, war broke out between Poland and the West Ukrainian Republic over which side would have a permanent claim to Eastern Galicia, France and Great Britain made repeated efforts to settle the disputes between the two states, but in the end the sovereignty of the West Ukrainian Republic was not preserved. The aim of the thesis is to determine the reasons why the West Ukrainian Republic as a geopolitical entity did not receive sufficient foreign support to ensure its existence and independence in the fight against Poland. For the research purposes of the work, a combination of several historiographical methodological procedures was used, such as direct, indirect, or progressive. The purpose of this procedure is a clear chronological description of key events, such as diplomatic missions, meetings of delegations, or the work of commissions preparing key documents. The work came to the conclusion that the West Ukrainian Republic collapsed mainly because of stubbornness on the part of its politicians, specifically in the case of the decision not to accept Barthélemy's demarcation line. After the...
Art therapy with children-foreigners living in the Czech environment
LACINOVÁ, Petra
The bachelor thesis deals with the art therapy support of children-foreigners during their adaptation period in the Czech Republic after resettlement from their country of origin. Specifically, it presents the experience of group art therapy with Ukrainian refugee children arriving in the Czech Republic after the Russian army invaded their homeland in February 2022. The theoretical part describes the circumstances and changes of the immigration situation in the Czech Republic due to the influx of refugees from Ukraine, the legislation applicable to foreign children living in the Czech Republic and the ways of supporting children with a different mother tongue in the Czech education system. One subchapter is devoted to the cultural and historical context of Ukraine, which is essential for the overall understanding of the political and social situation, as it contributes to the formation of the identity of Ukrainian children. The second chapter deals with the usual psychological themes of newly arrived children from another country. The practical part describes the course and focus of art therapy sessions for Ukrainian children, presents four case studies supported by children's artwork and defines the specifics of art therapy work with the chosen target group.
Zhodnocení provozních a ekonomických faktorů ovlivňujících výkupní cenu mléka na konkrétní farmě na Ukrajině
Orlov, Bohdan
The bachelor's thesis discusses operational and economic factors that affect the purchase price of milk. We were interested in one particular farm in Ukraine. The price formation mechanisms could be different compared to the Czech Republic and, consequently, the European Union, which was interesting us. The monitored parameters mainly included: the amount of milk pro-duced, fat and protein content, takings depending on the quantity and quality of milk produced. We selected the subject (sample) by convenience sampling method. The company STOV im. Lesia Serdiuka, which is specified for the breeding of Holstein (Ukrainian black-and-white) and Ukraini-an red-and-white cattle, served as the object of the research. Data collection was carried out through telephone conversations and e-mail communication, the obtained data were subse-quently processed according to common mathematical and statistical methods. The results of the research indicate a strong direct-proportional connection between the purchase price of milk and the concentration of fat and protein, however, the total takings are affected more by the amount of milk produced than by the amount of components contained in it.

Ilienko, Alisa
Ilienko, A. Factors that influence unemployment rate in Ukraine. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2023. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to identify the factors affecting the unemploy-ment rate in Ukraine. The factors are identified based on theoretical knowledges and experience of other countries, mainly those with economies in transition. Next, the labor market in Ukraine, the state of the economy and factors that may affect the unemployment rate are investigated. The peculiarities of the Ukrainian labor market are also taken into account, such as a large part of the shadow economy, a high level of corruption, regional unemployment and labor forces migration. To achieve this goal, multiple regression analysis is used to build an appropriate model. The influence of the average amount of unemployment benefits, corruption index, population aged 15-70 employed in the informal sector, minimum wage, GDP growth, FDI incoming, inflation index on the unemployment rate in Ukraine was tested. Statistically significant turned to be such factors as Corruption Index, Popu-lation employed in the informal sector, Minimum wage, and incoming FDI. Further, the influence of the factors was explained from the point of view of the Ukrainian labor market.
