Pre-hospital and intensive care for patients after a stroke
KULHAVÝ, Jakub
The thesis is divided into two main parts (theoretical and empirical) and deals with prehospital and intensive care for patients with stroke. The thesis has a total of three objectives. The first objective was to map selected aspects of the process of providing prehospital emergency care to patients suspected of having an acute stroke. The second objective was to describe the course of intensive nursing care for patients after a stroke, and the third objective was to determine the differences in nursing care between patients with ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. The empirical part focused on studying medical and, primarily, nursing documentation. The obtained data were processed using a quantitative research method based on retrospective data analysis, which was then interpreted. The data was recorded in record sheets created specifically to adhere to the predetermined objectives and hypotheses. The contribution of the thesis is primarily its unusual approach to the issue, addressing at the same time both prehospital and intensive care for patients after both ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes. The results indicate that crucial aspects of prehospital care include correct and rapid diagnosis, assessment of vital functions, consultation of the condition of a patient with a stroke physician and rapid transportation to the nearest appropriate medical facility. The course of intensive care focuses primarily on continuous monitoring of vital functions and their potential stabilization combined with comprehensive nursing care, which depends on the level of self-sufficiency of a patient and includes all care for basic human needs, primarily aimed at restoring the patient's ability to manage basic daily activities. In summary, it could be said that patients with hemorrhagic stroke required more demanding and comprehensive nursing care compared to patients with ischemic stroke.
Ischemic thrombus analysis in multiphasic brain stroke CT data
Mikešová, Tereza ; Holeček, Tomáš (referee) ; Jakubíček, Roman (advisor)
This master thesis deals with analysis of ischemic thrombus in brain CT scans. In theoretical part, a review of methods, especially thrombus segmentation, is developed. Furthermore, the anatomy of cerebral arteries and acute ischemic stroke is summarized. Selected methods from the field of image processing are briefly described. The practical part results in a comparison of thrombus segmentation methods. The segmentation itself was preceded by data preprocessing, which is described in the theses, and the creation of a manual annotation database. The best implemented method was found to be the adaptive thresholding method, which achieved a Dice score of 0,4555. By combining the methods appropriately, a final Dice score of 0,5145 was achieved. Thrombus parameters were then calculated from the segmented volumes. The median intensity value was 51,55~HU, the median length was 15,16 mm, and the median volume was determined to be 65,34 mm3. Subsequent correlation analysis showed no significant relationship between the derived parameters.
Design of a lifting mechanism for artificial lighting for hydroponic cultivation
Černoch, Lukáš-David ; Máša, Vítězslav (referee) ; Naď, Martin (advisor)
The work deals with the optimization of lighting for hydroponic systems in terms of energy efficiency, using a lifting mechanism. It is based on the selection of a suitable lighting, stroke solutions and the possibility of simple automation. The introductory part analyzes the basic principles and variants of hydroponic farms, their advantages, disadvantages and description of partial parts. The work is focused on the design of the light lifter mechanism, so it describes in more detail the different types of lighting for growing plants, and also summarizes the various lifting mechanisms from which it is chosen the most suitable. Subsequently, a 3D model of the selected mechanism was created including a motion study. The final part of the practical part was the price return calculation of the mentioned mechanism.
Thrombi detection in main brain arteries in CT image data
Líška, Martin ; Nemček, Jakub (referee) ; Chmelík, Jiří (advisor)
The master’s thesis deals with automatic preprocessing, segmentation and consecutive analysis of volume data of anonymized patient CTA acquisitions with an indication of stroke. Preprocessing of volume data is an essential step for proper vascular tree segmentation and analysis. The region growing method was used to segment the vascular tree of the brain. After extracting the vascular tree, the labeling of individual branches was applied in the algorithm and the appropriate features were extracted. The analysis examined the features of vessel lengths, their diameter and local brightness profiles, which are important indicators of possible stenosis or occlusion of the main vessels of the brain. The output of the algorithm are various modalities of diagnostic, assisted visualizations of the segmented vascular tree. The segmentation and analysis algorithm of cerebrovascular system was created in the MATLAB programming environment.
Cylinder unit of motocycle two-stroke engine
Stejskal, Miroslav ; Novotný, Pavel (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
Miroslav STEJSKAL Cylinder unit of motorcycle two-stroke engine In the beginning is briefly described two-stroke engine features. Furthermore, according to the set of basic geometric and thermodynamic parameters, the maximum pressure in the cylinder during one engine cycle. For the selected operating modes are carried out strength tests of the upper piston and connecting rod eye. In conclusion, the results are evaluated.
Modification of a motorcycle spark ignition engine
Poulíček, Matěj ; Ramík, Pavel (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
This diploma thesis is about possible modifications of four-stroke motorcycle petrol engines for increasing power. It also deals with the modification of the Aprilia Leonardo 250 engine from a 2-valve variant to a 4-valve variant, the simulation of this engine and the proposed solution in the GT SUITE. Attention is also paid to the strength control of the crank mechanism of the engine.
Modifying the Babetta engine
Poulíček, Matěj ; Píštěk, Václav (referee) ; Kaplan, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is about one of the possible modifications of two-stroke single-cylinder Babetta 210 engine for increasing of power. Further about another manufactured Babetta engines with focus on their pros and cons. Attention is paid also to possible design changes for elimination of drawbacks.
Powertrain of in-line four-cylinder spark ignition engine
Mačuga, Martin ; Rauscher, Jaroslav (referee) ; Píštěk, Václav (advisor)
According to given to cylinder diameter, stroke and ideal indicator diagram we will investigate with maximum cylinder pressure and further design for proportions piston insider ( piston and piston - pin) as well as piston rod. Then shall do strength calculation upper connecting-rod eye according to given to calculations namely for the select material of piston rod. In the end we evaluate the select material whether is for suggested piston rod fit.
Stroke mechanism of crane trolley
Dokoupil, Jan ; Pokorný, Přemysl (referee) ; Hloska, Jiří (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis solves design of a stroke mechanism with rated capacity of 20000 kg. The calculations are determined by parameters of hoist, rope drum sizes, its bearing and stress analysis. Drive mechanism is designed and project documentation of mechanism assembly, welding rope drum assembly and the production drawing of head of rope drum are worked.
