Setting of the material profile of stereolithographic 3D printing with a focus on dimensional accuracy
Topinka, Lukáš ; Koutecký, Tomáš (referee) ; Zatočilová, Aneta (advisor)
Additive technology of stereolithography works on the principle of curing a photosensitive polymer by laser or by DLP projector. Dimensional accuracy and quality of printing are affected by various parameters, such as exposure time and layer thickness. This bachelor thesis is focused on the description of the basic principles of stereolithography, including construction solutions for printers and their influence on the quality of printing. Furthermore, this thesis identifies the main parameters affecting the accuracy and suggests experiments for testing the influence of these parameters. At the end of this thesis, there is a description of the performed experiments, followed by a conclusion and suggestions for further development of this technology.

Understanding motivation of Czech high school and university students to learn the English and French languages
CSEVÁROVÁ, Marie
The focus of this bachelor thesis is the study of the motivation of two target groups: high school and university students in learning both English and French languages. The research was stimulated by the great influence of motivation on Second Language Acquisition (SLA), and it aimed to give an insight into the motivations and different variables that influence the motivation of the students. The first chapter of the thesis introduces the topic of motivation in SLA, serving as the basis for the research. Accordingly, this work focused specifically on the following aspects of motivation: intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, instrumental motivation, language anxiety and amotivation, and several of the influences on the motivation of the students: teachers, parents, and friends. It is followed by the second chapter, which outlines the methodology: piloting a questionnaire, final questionnaire design, and the data collection. The third chapter contains the data analysis, which comprises the responses of the participants. The fourth chapter addresses both contrasts and similarities between the two studied groups. Several of the main findings are - Within the students, intrinsic and extrinsic motives coexist, nevertheless, for university students, the career motive was more noticeable. Concerning high school students, intrinsic motivation was the most prevalent. There were also some differences between the students of the target languages of this thesis, French students were often motivated by the culture of the language, and English students mostly perceived the practical usefulness of English as their main motive. The influence of teachers was perceived as more positive within university students than the high school students. Both groups of students expressed quite low perceptions of the active parental influence on their language learning. Many students displayed the occasional state of amotivation or signs of language anxiety. These aspects were higher within the university students, French majors in particular. This thesis could serve as a base for follow up research or as a tool for educators in researching the motives of their students in order to increase their motivation.
Ecological differences between herbs and woody plants, and evolution of the herbaceous habit
Klimeš, Adam ; Herben, Tomáš (advisor) ; Lens, Frederic (referee) ; Těšitel, Jakub (referee)
Ecological differences between herbs and woody plants, and evolution of the herbaceous habit Adam Klimeš, doctoral thesis Abstract Flowering plants (angiosperms), which make up most present-day vegetation, were originally woody. While flowering plants have repeatedly given rise to herbaceous lineages since their first appearance, we lack a clear explanation for these common evolutionary events. Freezing temperatures and drought periods have been proposed as factors which had caused huge success of the younger growth form but the evidence is very limited and not in favour of these hypotheses. In this thesis, we aimed to build the foundations of research on the evolution of herbs. We outlined new potential drivers of the evolution of herbs, suggested solutions to some methodological challenges and provided evidence about differences between herbs and woody plants relevant to the hypotheses on herb evolution. To this end, we used common garden experiments with young plants of both growth forms and global trait data from public databases which we evaluated using phylogenetic comparative techniques. Annuality of aboveground biomass and fast life-strategy of herbs are characteristics which differentiate them from woody plants and which in some conditions are expected to be behind their success. Apart from the...
