The impact of the behaviour of individuals addicted to drugs on the Romany community

The diploma thesis deals with the drug addiction issue, the circumstances that lead to drug addiction and most importantly the impact the drug addiction has on an individual. It also describes the behaviour of the drug addicted in different life situations and the impact of such behaviour; specifically the impact of behaviour of the drug addicted Romany on functioning of Romany families and communities. The aim of this thesis is to present drug-related issues of the Romany ethnic group, specific aspects of the behaviour of the drug addicted and the impact of such behaviour on their communities. Terminology related to the topic is defined and further described and drug addiction related issues of the Romany ethnic group are specified. As a part of the analysis there are semi-structured interviews which aim to describe, as authentically as possible, behaviour of the drug addicted Romany and to help people understand what kind of impact the Romany community perceive as the most urgent. Among the most important there are: the negative and condemning attitude of the older generation towards the drug addicted members; financial burden of the families of the drug addicted and prevailing negative attitude of the majority society towards the Romany as a whole, which is strengthened by the behaviour of the drug addicted and by higher rate of criminality among them.

Advanced age of Roma seniors and its issues

The bachelor thesis focuses on age of gypsy seniors. The main focus of my bachelor thesis is to describe the age of gypsy seniors, their needs and subjective perception of a social status in a family. Also to find out reasons why the gypsy seniors are not being placed in a retirement home and to describe the way how the gypsy people take care of their seniors. The bachelor thesis consists of expressions such as gypsy, age, social status and social work. It also describes the history of gypsies from the beginning of their mentioning until our present. I focus on gypsy family, their tradition and the age of seniors. At the age I focus on the main needs and occurring changes. My research goals was to find out reasons the gypsy seniors are not being placed in the retirement home. I chose three age categories of gypsy seniors for my research. The first category are seniors from 65 to 70 years, the second category are seniors from 71 to 80 years and the third category are seniors from 80 years +. During my research I found out that I am not able to obtain the third category since I had the informants based on the snow ball technique, therefore no one from my informants knew any senior older 80 years. This is the reason why my is my research based on two categories only. Next the research focuses on the second category. This category is about offsprings of the gypsy seniors. Half structured interviews were done with eight gypsy seniors and their eight offsprings. The result of this work was to find out the opinion of the gypsy seniors and their offsprings on the retirement home. Also how the gypsies take care of their seniors and what needs the seniors have. I hope and believe that everyone will benefit from the knowledge of this bachelor thesis.

Physiotherapy Case Study of Rheumatoid Arthritis

"Physiotherapy Case Study of Rheumatoid Arthritis." The following Bachelor thesis case study was taken place at the Institute of Rheumatology, Prague, Czechia, for 2 weeks of period. The practice was carried under the supervision and guidance of Markéta Mikulášová. The main objective of this case study is to analyse the diagnosis of the patient with rheumatoid arthritis. Physiotherapeutic planned methods were executed on the rheumatoid arthritis patient to reach an optimal healthy state of the patient and to prevent any further complications. The thesis is divided into two main parts. Firstly, the Theoretical part which includes basic general outlook of the disease rheumatoid arthritis. Secondly, the main Practical part of the thesis, which includes the overall analyse of the patient with rheumatoid arthritis. Containing all the physiotherapy examinations required regarding the disease, followed by the therapy sessions done to achieve all the goals that were deducted from the examination, final physiotherapy examination in order to compare the changes or goals achieved from the initial examinations and lastly the results conclusion. Nutrition of the Romany population

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of the nutrition of the Romany population. The thesis itself is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. Theoretical part is focused on differentiation of the Romany population and its individual groups, as well as on the eating habits of this minority, including the historically rooted habits and traditional dishes. The last section of the theoretical part describes the health status of the Romany population, especially the issue of overweight and obesity, which is often associated with this ethnic group. The aim of the practical part was to map the eating habits of a selected sample of the Romany population and to evaluate their influence on the health status of the respondents. In the thesis, I used the method of qualitative research - a structured interview and a diet record. I led the interview with ten randomly selected respondents, who subsequently received information of the recommended daily intake of energy, and I also explained to them the method of recording the weekly meal plan. The recorded meal plans were eventually evaluated by the programme called 'Nutriservis Profesional' and the actual energy intake per day was compared to the recommended energy intake per day. I also evaluated the overall layout of macronutrients and in the end, I compared the meal plan with general recommendations for rational diet. These recommendations are published in the Reference Values for Nutrient Intake, 2011. The issue of nutrition of the Romany population should be viewed in a comprehensive way and taking into consideration all possible factors influencing the way of eating of this minority, we should especially consider the socio-economic factors. The early education and the intervention of a nutrition specialist is crucial in this kind of issue.

Case study of physiotherapy treatment of patient with ischemic stroke

Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of patient with Ischemic stroke and hemiplegia affected the left side of his body. Goals: To show the full kiensiological assessment, special therapy approaches and therapy effect during 7 sessions. The theoretical part explains the clinical picture, physiological, pathophysiology, aetiology, categories, pharmacotherapy and surgical intervention of the stroke. And the main goal of the practical part is to present the examinations, the therapeutic approaches and the conclusion that were made after the rehabilitation process with the patient. Methods: During my clinical practice, we used the main structure for the Kinesiological assessment according to the Prague School approaches. Manual muscle testing according to Kendall (2005) and Janda (2013) were also used (under the instructions and the protocols from the Kladno hospital). Finally, we applied final kinesiological assessment to compare the patient situation before and after the therapy and to see the effect of our work. Results: As a result of our work we found that the therapy course shows some noticeable results in increasing the ROM and the function of the affected upper extremities. 1 Abstract Title: Case study of a patient with fracture of tibia and peroneal paresis after the operation of right tibia. Thesis aim and clinical findings: This thesis is about the rehabilitation and treatment of fracture of tibia with peroneal paresis after the operation. The thesis consist of two part, one theory part and one special part. The theory part concerns briefly about the anatomy of lower extremity, kinesiology of lower extremity, peroneal paresis and fracture of tibia. The special part is about a 60 year old male patient with fracture of tibia and peroneal paresis after the operation. It consist of anamnesis, initial kinesiological examination, short term and long term plan, therapy progress and final kinesiological examination. Methods: The patient had one or two therapy session every day during these two weeks I was there. In total the patient had 16 sessions with me. Some of the methods that were used was electrostimulation, Kenny method, PIR, and stretching. Result: The patient showed a very slight improvement of the dorsiflexion of the right foot. in the final kinesiological examination there were a decrease in the swelling around the ankle and knee. This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the translation of a part of a book written by Werner Eck. The name of this book is: Agrippina die Stadtgründerin Kölns (Agrippina, the founder of Cologne), Cologne 1993. Just the second part of the book was translated into the Czech language. This part is focused on her rise and fall under her son Nero and the foundation of the city of Cologne.
