Electromechanical door lock with biometric reader and NFC
Tkadlec, Prokop ; Fiedler, Petr (referee) ; Benešl, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to prototype an electromechanical lock, that will be controlled by a biometric reader and NFC. In this bachelor's thesis all the individual components of designed prototype are presented and described. The next chapter presents selected software and hardware solutions and their implementation into the prepared physical configuration. The designed prototype enables the authentication of stored fingerprints and cards that support the ISO/IEC 15693 standard. Insertion and saving of authorized fingerprints and cards is possible via serial communication.
Mobile app for tag configuration in positioning system
Charvát, Jan ; Streit, Jakub (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is the design and realization of mobile application cooperating with wireless locator. Its purpose is providing information about the device and its current configuration or changing that configuration in on or off state, even without any power supply. This is possible by thanks to the usage of modern short distance wireless technology – NFC. In case of need, it’s possible to perform firmware updates over the Bluetooth 5.0 technology. Both technologies are described in theoretical part of this thesis, followed by necessary parts of locator and realization of that application written in Java language for the Android operation system.
Access Control System Utilizing NFC and Arduino Microcontroller
Hájek, Jaroslav ; Štůsek, Martin (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
The Bachelor thesis focuses on acces systems including administration of locks, groups of users, users and their identities. For simple implementation of the system have been created four significant elements of the project: a web interface Locker, an application server Authentizer, MySQL database and an Android application. The web interface is used for system administration and included communication with the database. The server application is used for a communitation between the Locks and the MySQL database. The pivotal role of the server application is verification identities of users. The sever application and the database are used as publishing API. Android application is used as identity instead of identity card.
Authentication using a device with OS Android
Smíšek, Martin ; Člupek, Vlastimil (referee) ; Dzurenda, Petr (advisor)
This thesis describes the basics of cryptography including symmetric and asymmetric cryptography. It also looks into methods of authentication, using knowledge of some information, having any object and user specific proportions. The thesis engage in description of modern technologies NFC and BLE and shows, how to develop applications, working with them. It deals with the way of storing data used for cryptography, in the safe way. The access system created in the scope of this thesis, which is using Android powered device as an authentication object and communicating over NFC is described. The system can be divided into two parts. The first part works on the device powered by Android. It creates, resets and saves secret data safely and communicate with the other part. The second part is working in a terminal with connected RFID/NFC card reader. The task of this part is to communicate with the part on the Android device, attached to the reader and saving data of users and chambers centrally on the web server. It also creates logs in the form of text files and upload it to the FTP server.
Compact System for Autonomous Meter Reading
Podeszwa, David ; Mrázek, Vojtěch (referee) ; Vašíček, Zdeněk (advisor)
This work solves the problem of the insufficient range of WMBUS meters, which makes their reading still difficult. The developed implementation solves this problem by using a battery-powered device that extends this range by using a LoRaWAN network, where the data received from the meters is sent over this network for further processing. The created device is capable of receiving WMBUS frames and sending them for a minimum period of 9 years. The main benefit of this work is the implementation of such a device on the new STM32WL platform, which is unique due to its integration of a microprocessor and a Sub-GHz receiver inside one chip.
Contactless microcomputer card as a hiding place for geocaching
Vertaľ, Damián ; Dzurenda, Petr (referee) ; Burda, Karel (advisor)
This master’s thesis focuses on the possibility of using contactless smart cards as an electronic hiding place in an activity known as Geocaching. The first part explains the theoretical knowledge about cards, smart card programming, the development of android applications for communication with the smart card using the NFC interface and usage of eliptic curves to sign digital messages. The second part is dedicated to the design of a Java card application and an Android application, which are able to communicate
Contactless Payments – Future of Payments Cards
Chludilová, Eliška ; Kozler, Miloslav (referee) ; Zeman, Václav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the development of payments instruments, contactless technologies and instruments of contactless payments. This thesis describes intentions of card associations VISA and MasterCard in area contactless payments. It also contains a questionnaire survey, on the basis of which was carried out an evaluation and comparison with intentions associations. At the same was recommend of development for a provider of services in the area.
Security of the RFID Technology
Bořutík, Stanislav ; Bartoš, Václav (referee) ; Bartoš, Pavel (advisor)
This paper is about security of the RFID systems, attacks on them and countermeasures. Attack to obtain secret key from Mifare Classic card was implemented. Options for eavesdropping RFID communication, security of the NFC technology and biometric passports are descibed too.
Security of EDGE sensors
Jančík, David ; Lieskovan, Tomáš (referee) ; Ilgner, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the security of EDGE sensors on the Raspberry Pi platform, which is used to store sensitive data on disk. In this thesis, the test device is Raspberry Pi 4. First, it examines and implements an SD card security module from Swissbit, Swissbit PS-45u, and Zymkey 4i from Zymbit. With the knowledge of Zymkey i4 and Swissbit to design and implement its own physical security module. Authentication is handled using smart cards that support the NFC communication. The components powered on the prototype board are an Arduino Nano, an accelerometer and a gyroscope, two connecting wires, two LEDs and an NFC interface.
Authentication using a mobile phone
Križan, Viliam ; Hajný, Jan (referee) ; Malina, Lukáš (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis describes the basics of authentication methods by knowledge, used authentication tokens and biometric ways of authentication. It discusses the capabilities of the individual methods designed for mobile phones. It covers the basic security in the GSM network (using SIM cards) and usage of authentication based on passwords, PIN codes, gestures, facial recognition and speech recognition. Thesis evaluates individual methods in terms of success and performance. It discusses the usage possibilities of authentication methods on the Android platform, where it provides the options of modular arithmetic operations of cryptographic primitives. The work evaluates the time consumption of modular arithmetic operations on the mobile phones with created application. It also lists available algorithms of symmetric and asymmetric ciphers, one-way hashes on the Android platform. The section of authentication protocol conception writes about protocol based on zero-knowledge proof, which authenticates users anonymously. It also proposes the transfer of calculated authentication variables using NFC technology. The protocol also supports the revocation of malicious users. The goal of the thesis was to create two applications that have implemented the selected authentication protocol. The first application designed for users, runs on mobile phones with Android operating system. Application calculates the authentication variables using authentication parameter which it loads from secure element of the phone. After calculations it sends the authentication variables via NFC reader (connection phone – reader). NFC reader is connected to the second application, which verifies the user’s authentication variables and decides the conclusion of authentication. The last part of thesis is devoted to testing the developed applications and running them on the devices. It evaluates the security of the authentication protocol, usage of the phone’s secure element and a security of the transmission over NFC.
