Automation and Accounting of Coffee Machine
Víšek, Jakub ; Ryšavý, Ondřej (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to design and implement an embedded and information system for automatic accounting of coffee dispensed by a vending machine. Features of the created solution include reliability and portability. The system can be easily extended for use in point of sale applications different to coffee machines. The results enable easy deployment of electronic accounting of purchased products and demonstrate integration of a microcontroller which controls a coffee vending machine on the basis of identifying users by their RFID tags.
Internet of Things Device Based on Thread and 6LoWPAN
Piškula, David ; Nosko, Svetozár (referee) ; Musil, Petr (advisor)
Internet of Things is among the newest phenomena of information technologies. This work describes the evolution and future of the Internet of Things and provides an overview of its current applications, then summarize the communication interfaces and protocols usable for the creation of the Internet of Things. The main focus is put especially on the IEEE 802.15.4 standard, 6LoWPAN protocol and the Thread technology. It also explains the term of Cloud Computing, platforms that are providing it and related types of databases. The design, implementation and testing of a Thread based solution are part of this thesis.
Beehive security system against unauthorized manipulation
Milota, Martin ; Münster, Petr (referee) ; Dejdar, Petr (advisor)
This master thesis deals with the design of beehive security system against unauthorized manipulation. The system uses LoRaWAN wireless communication technology for data transmission. The device records the movement of the beehive using an accelerometer and then locates the beehive using a GPS module. The low-energy system works via a battery-powered ESP32 microcontroller and is located on a beehive. The battery is charged using a solar panel. The system can be modularly expanded with additional sensors to monitor the condition of the bees. The device has been tested in practice, where it has been confirmed that it meets the required properties for securing beehives.
Coordination of MicroPython-Based IoT by Means of Node-RED
Kolář, Josef ; Peringer, Petr (referee) ; Janoušek, Vladimír (advisor)
The target of this thesis is to create means for using the Node-RED tool to coordinate physical nodes in the form of ESP32 chips in the Internet of Things. This is fulfilled by created Node-RED extension, the proposed MQTT channel protocol and custom firmware for these nodes. All of this suport deploy of diverse applications to nodes simultaneously side by side. The designed and implemented MicroPython firmware is capable of asynchronous operation of individual applications which provides an interface to communicate with the Node-RED. The functionality of this system has been successfully validated on the basis of two practical usage scenarios that demonstrate the possibility of direct use deployment system into practice in automation - even with the included firmware installer.
Optimization of LoRaWAN transmitter final stage
Hrbek, Tomáš ; Prokeš, Aleš (referee) ; Hanák, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with optimization of transmitter amplifier parameters for LoRaWAN network. The issue of optimization is first based on the conditions of ETSI EN 300 220, which takes into account the eventuality of interference the adjacent channels in the band. The optimizations are designed specifically for the Qorvo RF5110g integrated circuit, so that the amplifier meets the requirements of the above standard at the limit of the maximum allowed output power and also with respect to radio ecology.
Smart Home Solution Based on ESP Modules and Raspberry Pi
Bartoš, Martin ; Smrčka, Aleš (referee) ; Janoušek, Vladimír (advisor)
Nowadays, the world of smart devices in households is growing significantly, where the devices communicate with each other and make people's lives easier. However, a major problem with the purchase of these devices to common households is the high price and compatibility of those products from one vendor. The goal of this bachelor thesis is to create a comprehensive low-cost smart home solution that the user will be able to manage without much effort. This solution is implemented by the latest technologies and tools.
Smart Home Control by Utilizing AllJoyn Platform
Resler, Tomáš ; Kováč, Dominik (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor work concerns with system Alljoyn which tries to standardize the interface for communication in the frame of intelligent house. The basic principles and the structure of the framework Alljoyn including the recent proposal of the modules Lighting framework and Gateway Agent have been described in the theoretical oriented part of the work. The practical oriented part stars with the description of the getting the Alljoyn framework including the Lighting controller and the Gateway Agent to work on the hardware router provided with operating system OpenWRT. The following parts present own testing connector for the Alljoyn Gateway which have been written to allow the remote control of the lights via cloud service Twitter. The functionality of the router have been tested with software simulator of the Alljoyn lights Luminaire and an own ligths driving program developed utilizing the experimental Lighting SDK for mobile devices with operating system Android.
Security Analysis of Home IoT Network
Čikel, Tomáš ; Jeřábek, Kamil (referee) ; Pluskal, Jan (advisor)
This work focuses on the issue of the  security in home IoT network. Specifically, it focuses on the security issues of commercial IoT devices and their automation systems. In the work itself, it was firstly analyzed and identified specific threats specific for our network. To address these threats, the original automation systems and firmware on the devices were replaced by open-source implementations that were configured to address discovered threats. Although, there are still several security issues in a network with an open-source implementation, a large part of the security issues which were discovered has been eliminated.  The results of this work allows to configure a home IoT network using an opens-source automation system and firmware and proves that such a network is more secure than the network where the original factory-supplied automation systems and firmware on devices are used.
Weather station with air quality measurement
Lacina, Jaroslav ; Hájek, Jaroslav (referee) ; Lattenberg, Ivo (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the design and implementation of the wireless weather station with air quality measurement. At the beginning of the theoretical part, meteorology will be analysed. Afterwards, this work describes physical principles and the method of measurement of physical quantities that are measured by the meteostation. Next is the folloving technology described - Internet of things. The weather station is powered by a single battery and operates autonomously without any user intervention. It measures temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, CO2 and tVOC. Measured data are saved in to the cloud service ThingSpeak using a GSM signal. Further the work focuses on creation of web applications. The well organized graphs are created from the measured values.
5G Cellular Networks
Schaller, Lukáš ; Novotný, Vít (referee) ; Krkoš, Radko (advisor)
The subject of the bachelor’s thesis is mobile communication network of 5𝑡ℎ generation with focus on improvements from current 4𝑡ℎ generation. At the beginning of my work I summarized the system of 4𝑡ℎ generation mobile network EPS including description of individual parts. Next section pays attention to 5𝑡ℎ generation mobile communication network in context of network demands and future development, radio interface, network architecture or Internet of Things. Next follows solution of D2D communication especially LTE Direct and Wi-Fi Direct technologies. Here I paid attention to data agregation used in conjunction with Internet of Things enabling usage of IEEE 802.11 or IEEE 802.15.x standards. In closing part I described heterogeneous radio network and in particular mutual integration of cellular and Wi-Fi networks. In the first practical part of my bachelor’s thesis I measured parameters of Wi-Fi network during client-server communication. In the second practical part I tested data agregation of two devices using experimental network at Institute of communication.
