Optimisation of pressure condition in water supply systems
Sucháček, Tomáš ; Svoboda,, Miroslav (referee) ; Pollert, Jaroslav (referee) ; Tuhovčák, Ladislav (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the optimization of pressure conditions in the water supply network. There is a deep theoretical and critical search of the state of the art and there are fields where there is an insufficient field of knowledge, the so-called "knowledge gap". Experiments are proposed here to determine the dependence of water consumption on pressure conditions. There is a description of experiments and way how it was carried out, which were carried out on the water connection, in the pressure zone and in the laboratory on the hydraulic loop. There is proposed a methodology of experimental determination of the mathematical dependence of water consumption on pressure so that it can be used for optimization problems, where consumption is considered as an optimization criterion. The results of individual experiments are evaluated and a critical discussion of the achieved results is carried out. Finally, the achieved results are compared with the values found in a deep literature search.

Molnárová, Jana ; Čihánková, Ivana (advisor) ; Semerádová, Martina (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis entitled Which aspects of exchange programs lead their users to treat is to introduce the importance and role of contact center workers in the life path of an addicted (drug addicted) client. Further focus on aspects of their treatment process through harm reduction, which can lead to lifestyle changes and associated abstinence. This was done by the testimonies of two k-center workers in the South Bohemian region, who helped to map their activities and consequently the difficulties of dependent clients. The theoretical part describes the nature of dependence, the concept of motivation and related terms such as motivational interviews and case management. This section also includes types of facilities that provide services to drug addicts (hospitals, therapeutic communities, aftercare centers, substitution treatments). The practical part contains qualitative research, which was created from interviews with four workers of k-centers. Followed by a discussion of the results obtained and the conclusion of the thesis. Ethics and Power in Social Health Services
Hradcová, Dana ; Holmerová, Iva (advisor) ; Bittnerová, Dana (referee) ; Parry Martínková, Irena (referee)
The following text is an ethnographical study of relations in which care is shaped. On the example of care homes with special regime I describe how power is made and how different ideals are enacted in care of people with dementia. Through the analysis of daily activities' micro practice, I introduce two possible ways (modes of ordering) of care for frail elderly with cognitive impairment. The first of the modes is based on an enactment of ideals introduced into the practice by the Social Services Act and related system of quality standards: autonomy, individualisation, activation, and inclusion. It relies on standardisation of procedures, detailed specification of actions and management by objectives. The second mode of ordering, which could be located in the stories from care homes, is founded on an inevitable human dependency and vulnerability, and on general human need of giving and receiving care. In it, relationships and care improvisation here and now play the key role. My ethnographic fieldwork has shown that in everyday practice these two ways of doing good care co-exist - they complement each other, overlap and sometimes clash. People in care homes, striving for the better and the best care, either keep together, or hold apart these different and non-coherent ways of care. In discourse of...

Ond ej Sklená Závislost na jehle u injek ních uživatel drog v R Needle Fixation among injecting drug users in Czech Republic Diplomová práce Vedoucí práce: PhDr. Josef Radimecký, Ph.D., MSc. Praha, 2014 Abstract of the thesis Background: The importance of injecting drug use and its frequency among Czech problem users of illegal drugs appears to be high. At the same time the risks associated with this method of application and the risk of transmission of infectious diseases and other health complications are described in numerous publications and it is a compelling reason why we should give more attention to the theme of needle fixation. Finally, complications during substitution therapy associated with the transition from injecting drugs to another method of substitution substances administration are also common. Author of the thesis therefore asked the question whether in relation to injecting drug use could play a role in creating a strong addiction and other facts besides therefore widely known arguments as the quickest and most effective method of administration of drugs to the human body thanks to the injection. The aim of this work is to get better understanding of "needle...
Resource curse theory - An example of Venezuela
Hruška, Pavel ; Kučerová, Irah (advisor) ; Krausz Hladká, Malvína (referee)
The main objective of this Master thesis is to test the claim that economic dependence on oil exports impedes enduring democratic stability in the case of Venezuela in the period between 1970-2010. This assumption is based on a broad resource curse theory, which addresses negative economic, political and social consequences of precious resource export dependency. The hypothesis is that exogenous variables may intesify these malign consequences. In this study I will analyse the role(s) performed by multinational oil corporations (MICs) in Venezuelan petroleum industry, the impact of the nationalization of the oil sector and the impact of foundation of the national oil corporation PDVSA, which became responsible for the subsequent development of oil extraction. I assume that the nationalization led to profound restructuring of institutional and power relations, which in turn had a negative impact on the economic prosperity and stability of the democratic regime in a long-term perspective. Soon afer its creation the national oil corporation became an independent actor with enough power to promote its own economic and political interests and therefore it polarized the already divided society. Historical development within Venezuelan oil industry will be analysed by the path dependency method. In addition, I...
