Integration of .NET/Java technologies with SAS
Jandák, Miroslav ; Slánský, David (advisor) ; Pour, Jan (referee)
This thesis is focused on SAS Enterprise Intelligence Platform product and it's capabilities to integrate within a Business Intelligence solution. The aim of the thesis is to describe integration technolgies that the platform features, as well as to determine their application field and compare them, eventually add usage examples. The first part of the thesis explains the general concept and architecture of Business Intelligence, afterwards the reader gets familiar with the SAS Enterprise Intelligence Platform, it's stucture and components and it's Business Intelligence market position. The second part of the thesis contains description (how they work and what they are good for) of the integration technologies available in SAS Enterprise Intelligence Platform. Those technologies are mostly implementations of the most common industry standards (database APIs, COM/DCOM, CORBA, web services). The study also includes description of these standards supported by SAS. The thesis features also comparisions of the integration technologies, namely comparison of database API implementations and comparision of Integrated Object Model API with SAS BI Web Services.
Propojení produktů BPM a BI
Zikmund, Martin ; Kunstová, Renáta (advisor) ; Švík, Martin (referee)
Interconnection between various types of IT systems used in an enterprise is crucial in these days. Most of companies are using many different kinds of applications in their daily running of the enterprise which leads to necessity of sharing data across those applications to enable all employees to make a right decision upon correct information. In my diploma thesis I deal with interconnection of two systems -- Business Process Management (BPM) and Business Intelligence (BI). Both systems belong to group of top IT systems with big influence on ongoing business and right decision making on all levels from operational to strategic. My paper contains theoretical as well as practical part of the solution for interconnection of BI and BPM systems. First part is about presenting and describing basic concepts and technologies which are used in process of integration of BI and BPM. At the beginning there is a short introduction to BPM, BI and SOA. Following part is including analysis of three major ways of interconnection between BI and BPM systems. Last part of the first theoretical section presents two products. IBM FileNet P8 representative of BPM system and IBM Cognos 8 BI as a representative of BI system. Second part deals with the practical example of real integration between BI and BPM systems. In first part of this section is simple description of the scenario -- business case. After that there is a detail depiction of two different kinds of integration of BI and BPM. Analysis of benefits, advantages and further possibilities are at the end of work.
A web service related to a web syndication
Žižka, Petr ; Jelínek, Jiří (advisor) ; Přibil, Jiří (referee)
This bachelor thesis is primarily focused on web services and their application. Secondarily, it is related to web syndication and an area of publishing/processing of information available on the internet, in general. It contains a description of web service principles in theory, an example of application and suggestions of potential future usage. This paper also covers a real-based case study which is based on the whole concept. All used source codes are available on the enclosed CD.
Web Services and their support in Java
Kubal, Pavel ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Stanovská, Iva (referee)
This thesis aims to provide a comprehensive view on the topic of tools for support generation of Java based web services. First half of the thesis focuses on theoretical part of the topic and introduces related basic terms to the reader. Second part deals with the examination of the market with tools for support generation of web services. The output of the thesis is summarization of features provided by three major players on the market and this follow practical advices gained during the process of working on this thesis.
SOA Governance
Pršala, Ondřej ; Bruckner, Tomáš (advisor) ; Kasal, Jindřich (referee)
The thesis is focused on administration and supervision of Service oriented architecture (SOA). The main idea of SOA is system decomposition to functional units, which contain bounded and well understandable functionality. This functionality, in form of service, is provided to other units through clearly described interface. Well-identified relationships between service provider and service consumer are created. SOA governance aims to manage these relationships, to monitor quality of services and to control adherence of stated rules and policies. These rules and policies are established by central team responsible for integration and architecture development. Starting point of successful architecture development is acquaintance of service portfolio and their inter-relationships. Each service should go through whole formal life-cycle, which particular phases have special policies applied. Main interest is devoted to run-time phase - run-time monitoring and run-time governance. Theory is complemented by practical examples of report generation and service monitoring with SLA adherence observation. The thesis also contains structural model of SOA governance taking into account infrastructural elements of SOA and information flows between them.
Web services support in the .NET framework
Fischer, Roman ; Buchalcevová, Alena (advisor) ; Máša, Michal (referee)
The work targets the very important part of service oriented architecture -- web services. It is focused at one of its practical implementation, from the Microsoft Corporation, especially in the last two releases of .NET Framework. The main target of this work is comprehensive summary and demonstration of Microsoft web services development. The principles of web services and their base in the .NET Framework are described here. At the beginning of this work the web services are put into the scope of service oriented architecture and their main principles are described. Subsequently the .NET Framework is explained with its main principles and with the comparison to the JAVA technology. This part is finished with the explanation of classic ASMX web services. The main part of this work focuses at detailed description of the theoretical and practical aspects of web services in the Windows Communication Foundation and the Windows Workflow Foundation context. Even the development of Windows Forms application is not left out, because they also have done a large progress and they are often consumers of web services. The options of securing web services in the .NET Framework are shown both theoretically and practically including authentication and authorization. The methods of transactional behavior are shown too. The work also focuses at the orchestration of web services including the explanation of workflows with the deployment example. At the end of the work there is revealed how to guarantee interoperability with other technologies, how to manage web services and how to ensure their versioning.
Web Services in Lotus Notes/Domino
Semantic Web Services
