Automatic generation of test questions

This project deal with automatic generation testing questions. We will find that turn-key solution problem randomly generation questions. By the help of languages HTML and PHP is created simple application susceptible data access from database: adding, editing, addition entries, etc . System further makes it possible to potluck testing questions of several perimeters and according to type generated test. Next function is generation question and correct answers in size PDF and HTML by the help of system latex.

Comparison of the best-known database systems

The main aim of my thesis was to perform a high-level comparison of the selected database systems from the perspective of commonly perceived factors.The comparison has been made from the technological standpoint, the hardware requirements view, security and high availability. Factors like scalability, support for analytic tools and third party integration options as well as general usability have been included as well. The actual finance and budgeting piece generally defining the actual products are also part of the thesis. As the paper shows, it is not possible to generalize and select "the best" database system as those are defined by their properties specifically tailored for a defined set of use cases. The actual strengths and weakness of the products are however easy to pinpoint and are described. It remains clear that each implementation should included a detailed analytic part which directly maps the customer's requirements and is able to provide required information for the product selection in the later phases of the project.

Development of Dictionary Writing System

The article presents a new Dictionary Writing System (DWS) that is being developed at the Institute of the Czech Language of the Academy of Sciences of the CR, v. v. i., in connection with the preparation of a new monolingual dictionary of contemporary Czech. The overall software architecture is discussed in details; the software is implemented as a web application based on PHP, HTML, and MySQL technologies, users interact with it via the web browser.

Management model of project-oriented organizations of social sphere

The thesis "Management model of project-oriented organizations of social sphere" deals with the proposal of a management model for project-oriented organizations of social sphere using monitoring and evaluation processes. The proposed management model was based on qualitative research conducted in the selected institution, which was the Institute of Social Work of the Faculty of Health and Social Studies. (Institute of Social Work ? ISW). The reason for selecting this institution was the variety, scope of activities undertaken and development phase of the institution. Currently, as an integral part of institutions focusing on practical social work with the client is considered not only strategic management but also project management which favorably influences the efficiency of services as well as provides the possibility of obtaining resources for their financing. The degree of success of these projects is positively influenced by the processes of monitoring and evaluation, both in the planning phase of the project and during its implementation. On the basis of the qualitative research was proposed a management model for the selected Institute of Social Work. The management model is based on a set of monitoring and evaluation indicators that were, using synergy effects, incorporated in the proposal of database systems of ISW. Based on the values of proposed indicators obtained from the database system we can not only monitor but also assess the performance of the Institute of Social Work. Some of the indicators can be used to design development strategies of the ISW. The applicability of the established management model was assessed by the experts from different fields of management, but similarly focused institutions, in the form of semi-structured interview. Based on the expert opinion, this management model is applicable to other similarly oriented organizations. The model, according to the experts, would bring improvements in management of project-oriented organizations of social sphere with similar focus as the ISW.

Implementation of a test for comparison of database systems' performance

The aim of this thesis is to create a program, which will be able to perform a performance testing of relational database systems supporting query language SQL with an emphasis on open source systems. The test should simulate a real usage of tested database systems. In the introduction is shown the necessity of such program (which is supported by the analysis of existing theses and programs in the second chapter) and the fact, that it is convenient to base the test on the TPC-C as a standard for this type of testing in the proprietary sphere, so all the given requirements could be met. The third chapter gives insights into the history of transactional testing and what were the circumstances of the formation of Transaction Processing Performance Council, which authored the TPC-C specification. The main characteristics of TPC-C are decribed in the following chapter, while the fifth one addresses the implementation, i.e. the creation of the program, which can be used for testing of database systems. The sixth chapter deals with the usage of this program for the comparation of two well known open source database systems in their default configuration - MySQL and PostgreSQL. However, the goal of this testing is to find out whether the created program is fully functional, while the seventh chapter elaborates more on this. The most important outcome of this thesis is a program, which can be used for comparation of real-usage-like performance of (not only) open source relational database systems. This program is an open source, which increases its value since a user has a possibility to find out exactly what is tested and how it is done. Furthermore, it supports the future development of this program. Another outcome of the thesis is the comparation of two open source database systems.

Usage of database systems in robust ERP/ERP II sw packages

This thesis is concerning with problems of using database systems in ERP / ERP II software packages. The goal is to define position of ERP / ERP II systems in the Information System market. With this topic are also connected characteristics of database systems and definition of their specific position towards ERP / ERP II solutions. Except classical solutions, when the whole Information System is situated "inside" a company, there are also analyzed new attitudes, which respect external provider of ERP / ERP II and database services, particularly SaaS and Cloud Computing technology. This thesis also deals with evaluation of contributions and threats of these new business models, respecting different size of ERP / ERP II solutions. After introductory theoretical chapters, we choose respondents from groups of producers and distributors of ERP / ERP II products and we implemented a survey through questionnaire research. The goal is to clarify main reasons of choice of specific database platforms, used with different types of ERP / ERP II solutions. Afterward, with the aid of defined hypothesis, I'm trying to explain a degree of platform independence of robust ERP / ERP II software packages, towards database platforms. In closing parts of the thesis, there are compared individual database platforms among each other, respecting their suitability of usage in ERP / ERP II systems. Database systems are closely analyzed from several points of view. On the basis of ascertained theoretical and empirical frequency of particular database solutions we determine dominant market players and with the aid of multicriterial comparison we clear up reasons of their success among other competitors. Finally, we outline an anticipated trend, where the database systems market destined for ERP / ERP II products should grow in.
